After ensuring Jiu Xian’er’s well-being, Wu Xianyao glanced at Li Junlin, confirming he was unharmed, and then picked up his steel staff.

“Beixuan, I will now teach you a Martial Skill called the Tyrant Blade Step, which combines spear techniques, blade maneuvers, and footwork.”

Wu Xianyao began demonstrating, instructing Chen Beixuan simultaneously.

“Tyrant Blade Step involves stepping with each thrust of the spear, advancing or retreating seamlessly for defense or attack. The footwork is incredibly dominant, blending movement with spear strikes, every step harboring lethal intent.”

Wu Xianyao deliberately slowed down his movements to ensure Chen Beixuan could clearly observe the fusion of footwork and spear technique.

“The blade technique is unpredictable, each strike aiming for a fatal blow. Within the spear steps, the blade dictates deception; whenever it emerges, it seeks certain death – either not drawn, or drawn to draw blood.”

Chen Beixuan watched attentively, memorizing Wu Xianyao’s words, knowing these skills would be crucial for survival on future battlefields.

“The Tyrant Blade Step has three distinct killing styles, equally potent but varying in application. Pay close attention. This is the first style, Deceitful Step Kill. Its purpose isn’t immediate defeat but gradual attrition.”

As Wu Xianyao moved, his afterimages appeared, each accompanied by a spear thrust. Layers of afterimages merged with scattered glimmers of light, representing the spear strikes.

“The second style is Overlord Spear. This move requires immense force and presence; when executed, it must exude an invincible aura, embodying the might of an overlord. With this overwhelming momentum, you can dominate your opponent and slay them with the spear.”

Chen Beixuan’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Although he struggled to fully comprehend these techniques at present, his enthusiasm remained undeterred.

“For the final style, seizing the right opportunity is crucial. During combat, you may face suppression or be surrounded by enemies. Timing the strike is key. I call this last form, Tyrant Blade Style. It is the core maneuver of the Tyrant Blade Step, and also its ultimate technique. Mastered effectively, it allows you to confront adversaries above your own level without issue.”

As Wu Xianyao unleashed the Tyrant Blade, a blood-red blade energy arced like a full moon, slicing through the air while he stood at its center.

After demonstrating the complete set of the Tyrant Blade Step, feeling refreshed, Wu Xianyao instructed Chen Beixuan to begin practicing.

Initially, Chen Beixuan stumbled through the movements, panting heavily after completing the sequence just once.

Once Chen Beixuan had somewhat mastered the basics, Wu Xianyao turned his attention to Li Junlin. Though unsure how long it took Chen Beixuan to learn the Five Phases Breathing Technique, he anticipated that Li Junlin would soon follow suit.

Just as he thought this, Li Junlin achieved mastery. Witnessing Li Junlin rise from his practice, Wu Xianyao smiled faintly.

Wu Xianyao repeated the process, and by midday, Jiu Xian’er had also completed her training.

Chen Beixuan ceased his practice, “How about we go out for lunch?” Over these few days, they had brought their own food, managing with simple meals at noon, though whether anyone felt fully satisfied was another question.

Just as Wu Xianyao was about to suggest joining them, a woman dressed in a flowing dress approached from afar.

“Qing Qing, what brings you here? You’re pregnant; don’t wander around too much.” Chen Beixuan stepped forward and took several large food boxes from Qing Qing’s hands.

“I know you haven’t been eating properly these past few days. Since I found out you were here, I decided to bring lunch for you,” Qing Qing said gently, clearly having prepared the three food boxes herself.

Wu Xianyao exchanged glances with Li Junlin, then glanced at the dispirited Jiu Xian’er and chuckled, “Let’s go, time for lunch.”

“Master, I’m not hungry. Just give me some healing touches instead,” Jiu Xian’er looked at Wu Xianyao as if eyeing a feast of delicacies.

“What indecent language is that?”

Li Junlin grabbed Jiu Xian’er by the back of her collar, “Come on, it’s time for lunch. What kind of thoughts fill your head day after day?”

The trio found a small local restaurant nearby and ordered several home-style dishes.

Jiu Xian’er, being in a state of depletion, needed substantial nourishment and immediately dug into her food with gusto.

“Mmm! Delicious! So good!”

Li Junlin and Wu Xianyao smiled at Jiu Xian’er’s enthusiasm; she truly embraced life wholeheartedly.

As they ate, their conversation continued.

“What do you think about our future plans? The Martial Dao now offers some hope to ordinary people. With Beixuan and me joining the military, this place will rely solely on you.”

Li Junlin was aware of what Wu Xianyao was currently undertaking. If one had connections, it could be easier, but unfortunately, few believed in his vision. Even Li Junlin suspected that his own siblings might not trust it without firsthand experience, as most likely no one would without witnessing it themselves.

Wu Xianyao seemed to understand Junlin’s thoughts. “Once you both demonstrate the power of the Martial Dao in the military, our path will open up. I just need to recruit more students and find a suitable base location. However, you know how expensive every square inch is here at the base. Securing a base requires money – a few thousand, I can manage, but for millions or even billions, I’ll have to figure out a strategy.”

In reality, once Jiu Xian’er reached the First Realm, Wu Xianyao could focus on his own endeavors without concern.

Initially, Wu Xianyao’s primary worry was Chen Beixuan entering the battlefield. However, with Li Junlin’s arrival and later Jiu Xian’er joining them, he decided to change course.

“Perhaps it won’t be that complicated. The aptitude issue is straightforward, and I’ll help you find a suitable location for the academy. Let’s get it started first and tackle other problems as they come.” Li Junlin’s family had considerable influence, making securing a venue for two gifted individuals relatively easy.

Wu Xianyao didn’t know what to say; declining would have been overly sentimental.

“Thank you very much!”

“Don’t mention it. I understand your burden is heavy, but remember, you’ve fundamentally changed our lives. It may seem insignificant to you, but to Beixuan and me, you’re our benefactor, our source of inspiration. If you ever give up, I doubt Beixuan and I would fare any better. Always keep in mind that both Beixuan and I stand firmly behind you.”

Wu Xianyao nodded, realizing at some point, there were already two people supporting him from behind. Reflecting on his past, he seemed to recall feeling quite alone.

“Me-me-me! Master, don’t forget me too,” Jiu Xian’er chimed in, still with rice grains at the corner of her mouth, eagerly raising her hand.

“Right! And you as well!” Wu Xianyao placed another serving of vegetables onto Jiu Xian’er’s bowl with his chopsticks.

After finishing their meal, they returned to the square. Li Junlin and Chen Beixuan had already reached the Beginner stage, now only needing time to refine their skills. With them keeping an eye on Jiu Xian’er, Wu Xianyao took his leave without further ado, knowing both understood his intentions.

At the bustling forge shop, customers came and went, as it was nearing recruitment season. Many were here to craft weapons for their sons and daughters.

The military provided standardized equipment of decent quality, but having superior weaponry increased the chances of survival against Xenobeasts. Naturally, parents desired safety for their children above all else.

“Boss, please arrange a private forging room for me. I’ll need it for three days, here’s the rental fee.” The forge shop owner was a burly man with broad shoulders, bearing three deep scars from chest to waist.

“Young man, are you a blacksmith? Given your age, close to the recruitment season, I assume you want to create a weapon for yourself. In that case, consider it free. Charging for crafting tools to fight Xenobeasts doesn’t seem right.”

Wu Xianyao waved his hand, “Uncle, I’m actually crafting weapons for my friends who are about to enlist as soldiers. Since I have some skill in blacksmithing, I wanted to make something special for them.”

“Oh, I see! In that case, there’s no charge for rent, but you’ll still need to cover the material costs. Rest assured, our prices are absolutely fair.” The uncle chuckled warmly. If not for those menacing scars, he would truly seem approachable and friendly.
