Immortal Martial Academy - Chapter 54
In Great Xia, item refining also existed, but it primarily focused on technological advancements.
Unlike the powerful artifacts wielded by the Alien Race, Wu Xianyao had not encountered similar items within Great Xia’s arsenal.
Weapons used by 5th and 6th Rank experts were adequate, but there seemed to be a significant shortage of high-impact armaments comparable to those employed by the Aliens.
Wu Xianyao made a mental note to inquire about this from Lan Haoyue when he found the time.
The battle raged on. Among the three alien races, most warriors were 2nd or 3rd Rank, yet human soldiers could only barely hold their own with the aid of advanced armor.
Once the armor was breached, death was inevitable for the human warriors.
Squads consisting of 2nd and 3rd Rank individuals became primary targets on the battlefield. To counter effectively, Heavy Soldiers often needed numerical superiority against these smaller squads to eliminate 2nd and 3rd Rank alien warriors.
When the aliens transformed into their true forms, their combat prowess skyrocketed, enabling a single 3rd Rank alien to challenge an entire 3rd Rank human squad.
Alien squads typically operated as groups of three at equal ranks, effortlessly overpowering human squads of 2nd and 3rd Rank gifted individuals.
Only at the 4th Rank could humans bridge the gap with the aliens, which is why even 4th and 5th Rank powerhouses, despite being part of Battle Teams, often preferred solo missions.
Wu Xianyao squinted ahead, noticing two fifth-rank powerhouses from the Alien Race bearing down on Chen Beixuan’s Blood Squad.
Surrounding the Blood Squad were over twenty Heavy Soldiers, coordinating their attacks together.
If these two fifth-rank powerhouses reached them, all nearby warriors, including the Blood Squad, would undoubtedly perish.
The World Illuminating Spear appeared in Wu Xianyao’s hand as he charged towards the two alien fifth-rank powerhouses.
As they were reveling in their killing spree, a long spear suddenly lunged at them.
Zi Yi swiftly countered with a backhand slash, aiming to deflect the spear.
However, upon contact, the spear split in half; the rear portion flew away while the front pierced directly into Zi Yi’s chest.
“Zi Yi!” Zi Er, having just slain a dozen Heavy Soldiers before him, rushed to Zi Yi’s side.
But moments later, Zi Yi’s body began to burn and quickly turned to ash.
During earlier battles, Wu Xianyao had realized the potency of Yang Fire, leaving even fifth-rank powerhouses helpless against it.
Once Yang Fire enters the body, not even gods can save you.
Zi Er glared at Wu Xianyao, roaring, “I’ll make sure you die!”
Unwilling to waste time on words, Wu Xianyao unleashed five Azure Dragons that instantly enveloped Zi Er.
With Zi Er swiftly eliminated, the remaining Seed Divine Guards seemed to sense something unusual and converged towards Wu Xianyao.
Wu Xianyao frowned, then charged in one direction, unleashing Yang Fire’s might.
A sonic boom echoed as a golden streak flashed, leaving another Seed Divine Guard felled by Wu Xianyao’s World Illuminating Spear.
Another Seed Divine Guard rushed at him, but with Weeping Blood unsheathed, Wu Xianyao effortlessly bisected the attacker.
From afar, Chen Beixuan faced three 3rd Rank Xenomorphs, piercing through their heads with his spear. With a flick of the spear tip, he surveyed his surroundings, sensing something amiss, though he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was.
“Damn, these 3rd Rank Xenobeasts have tough bones. If any 4th Rankers sneak up on us now, we’re dead,” Li Junlin cursed over the channel, yet his strikes didn’t slow down for a moment.
One Xenomorph transformed into its true form, becoming a three-meter-tall crimson rat, charging directly at Li Junlin.
Li Junlin, visibly angered, retorted, “So you think showing your true form intimidates me? Do you believe Martial Artists rely solely on weapons? Begone, vermin!”
With a single punch, Li Junlin crushed the Flame Rat’s head, forcing it to collapse onto the ground.
Jiu Xian’er observed this and smirked, “Get down for me, you rat!” She leaped and stomped on the back of a 2nd Rank Flame Rat.
The Flame Rat’s limbs snapped under her weight, collapsing onto the ground. Heavy Soldiers swiftly swarmed around it, beating it to death.
Jiu Xian’er’s eyes gleamed as she continued jumping, subduing one Flame Rat after another, which were then surrounded and brutally killed by the Heavy Soldiers.
Other squads noticed Jiu Xian’er’s technique, their eyes lighting up. They attempted to stomp on the Flame Rats’ backs but narrowly avoided breaking their own feet, as the rats remained unfazed.
Dugu Tianjian also witnessed this, swiftly leaping and crushing a Flame Rat beneath his foot.
Raising an eyebrow, Dugu Tianjian cast a meaningful glance towards the Blood Squad.
“Woah, Captain, how did you manage that? Apart from the Blood Squad, only you can pull it off,” Jian Yuan exclaimed excitedly over the team channel.
Lan Yuecai watched Jiu Xian’er’s actions and simply remarked, “Foolish girl.”
As Lan Yuecai spoke, blue liquid began seeping from the tip of her spear. A 3rd Rank Blood Wolf, mistaking her as an easy target, lunged at her. However, instead of biting flesh, its throat was pierced by the silver spear.
The Blood Wolf assessed its injury – merely superficial and not concerning. It charged towards Lan Yuecai again, but before reaching her, it felt disoriented, spinning uncontrollably, and then collapsed onto the ground.
Lan Yuecai’s lips curved upwards as she swiftly turned and fired at a Black Rat attempting to sneak up from behind. The shot caused minimal damage, just breaking the skin, but being a 2nd Rank Black Rat, within less than a second, its eyes closed, lying lifeless on the ground.
When Wu Xianyao returned, he observed this scene and couldn’t help but nod approvingly. Yes, that’s right; to defeat enemies, one must exploit every opportunity available.
Wu Xianyao gained new insight into his current combat capabilities. With Yang Fire power, he could effortlessly take down most 5th Rank adversaries.
Once he reached the Spirit Platform Realm, even 6th Rank enemies would be within reach, though facing them now was still too challenging. He could certainly evade, but engaging directly without risking everything seemed impractical. If he went all out, it might result in a fifty-fifty chance of success.
Above, the battle between Lan Haoyue and the leader of the Skysoar Clan continued unabated. Once a victor emerged there, the conflicts below would also swiftly conclude.
A massive ten-thousand-meter serpent coiled in the sky as a bright full moon ascended, causing the surrounding temperature to plummet rapidly. The alien warriors on the ground began freezing bit by bit.
Under Lan Haoyue’s deliberate control, however, the Human Race faced no significant issues.
“I’ve long heard of your ‘Full Moon Freeze’ slaughtering tens of thousands of warriors,” the Old Python declared. “Today, we shall see if it is your Full Moon that freezes all, or if my Gaze proves more potent.”
Two beams of azure light surged towards the luminous moon above.
The moon responded with a silvery-white beam, colliding directly with the azure rays.
Instantly, Heaven and Earth Energy within several square kilometers was drained, freezing alien warriors one after another, while some human soldiers also started showing signs of petrification.
Suddenly, the full moon descended forcefully, extinguishing the azure beams and crushing the leader of the Heaven Raising Python Clan deep into the ground.
Lan Haoyue gazed at the giant python lying shattered, blood seeping out along its cracked body, a gruesome sight indeed.
The Old Python lifted his head, the previous vigor now absent from his eyes. “I didn’t expect you to already be at Peak Seventh Step. You have won.”
Landing before the colossal snake, Lan Haoyue stated solemnly, “Some beasts must die, do you understand? After millennia, the Human Race cannot afford any more losses. Blood debts can only be repaid with blood.”
With a hand placed upon the Old Python’s forehead, Lan Haoyue instantly froze him, extinguishing the last vestige of life within the creature.
The death of their leader prompted the Alien Race to retreat from the battlefield. The Human warriors did not pursue them, adhering strictly to the Great General’s orders without deviation.
Wu Xianyao observed as Lan Haoyue collected the Old Python’s corpse, then calmly watched the retreating Aliens without giving chase.
