Immortal Martial Academy - Chapter 45
In the outside world at 7 o’clock, Wu Xianyao stood in the command room of his battleship, observing as the Eighth and Ninth Legions initiated their attack.
First came a barrage of missiles sweeping across the ground, followed by precise laser targeting.
Missiles rained down on the Fifth Stronghold like a violent storm.
The 1st and 2nd Rank Aliens were torn apart amidst explosions, while most 3rd Rank Aliens survived if they evaded well. However, a direct hit from the lasers meant certain death for them.
The Flame Rat Aliens were not to be underestimated either. The ground shook as a massive rat emerged, standing at least a hundred meters tall.
With a deafening roar, powerful sound waves radiated outward, causing chaos in the surrounding magnetic field. Missiles lost their targets, but then a beam from the Eighth Warship stabilized the magnetic field once more.
Wu Xianyao, watching from the battleship, was somewhat intrigued by this unusual sonic wave effect.
“Little Panda, analyze it.”
“Analyzing…”
“Analysis complete. Electromagnetic Sound Wave – the sound waves carry electromagnetic properties, disrupting the surrounding magnetic field frequencies and creating chaos.”
Wu Xianyao frowned; these technologies seemed far from conventional.
“Little Panda, scan the giant Black Rat.”
“Scan complete…”
As Wu Xianyao viewed the Black Rat’s structural diagram, he was somewhat shocked.
The heart of the giant Black Rat consisted of a massive spherical disc with hundreds of individual hearts pulsating within it. Its skeletal structure was composed of an unknown alloy material.
“Is this a fusion of biology and technology? But why does it look so peculiar, as if they’ve taken a twisted path?”
One by one, giant rats burst from the ground, their constant shrieks echoing. The Eighth Warship maintained a steady magnetic field beam over them.
Machinery armors charged towards the giant rats, engaging in fierce battles.
Laser fire from the warships rained down relentlessly, while Heavy Soldiers mobilized to confront the incoming waves of Black Rats and Flame Rats.
Military squads were deployed to specifically target the 4th Rank Alien elites.
More and more black rats emerged, numbering in the tens of thousands.
A dull rumble resonated across the battlefield, followed by the disappearance of three entry points for the Black Rats.
Initially, the enemy numbers increased rapidly, but with the closure of these three entry points, the rate of growth slowed significantly.
A Black Rat pounced on a Heavy Soldier, biting down on his armor. Another Heavy Soldier swiftly followed up, piercing the rat’s head with a spear before charging forward.
One 3rd Rank Black Rat cleanly bit off a Heavy Soldier’s head and then aggressively lunged towards another soldier.
Undaunted, the remaining Heavy Soldier lifted their shield with immense three-ton force, effectively blocking the charge of the 3rd Rank Black Rat. Two fellow soldiers behind them thrust their spears simultaneously from either side, impaling the Black Rat’s eyes.
As the lowest tier within the Rat Clan, the combat abilities of Black Rats were relatively limited.
On the battlefield, active 3rd Rank Flame Rats engaged with military squads. Both sides suffered casualties, with some Aliens slain and others taking human lives.
Even against 3rd Rank Black Rats, it typically required at least three to five Heavy Soldiers to handle one such opponent.
For 1st Rank Black Rats, each Heavy Soldier could face them individually, thanks largely to the strength of their heavy battle armor.
Each collision between machinery armor and giant black rats resulted in numerous fatalities for both humans and Aliens, leading to wide-open spaces where these intense battles took place.
At the Fifth Stronghold, Yan Ba studied the combat map and cursed, “Damn it, why is my stronghold targeted again? The fourth stronghold was just bombed, and now the Human Race comes for the fifth. Do they think I, Yan Ba, have no temper?”
“Commander, bad news! The first, second, and third nests have been destroyed,” a Flame Rat rushed in to report.
Enraged, Yan Ba exclaimed, “Fucking hell, am I being outwitted by these rats? Get the fuck out, you disrespectful bastard!”
With a wave of his hand, Yan Ba sent the reporting Flame Rat flying away.
“Commander, more bad news – the Space Altar has also been bombed,” another Flame Rat burst in to say.
Yan Ba slammed his fist on the table, “What?”
“Fucking bastards, who’s behind this treachery?” Pacing back and forth, he thought of one particular rat, “Great Elder, is it you? Is it you withholding the promised Perception-type warriors? Now that my stronghold faces crisis, it must be your doing. You better watch out.”
Suppressing his fury, Yan Ba examined the combat map. With support cut off and the Space Gate destroyed, obtaining significant reinforcements in the short term seemed impossible.
“Release all the giant rats and send Ninth and Tenth Children to confront the flames,” Yan Ba commanded fearlessly against the enemies outside.
The Seed Divine Guards were the leader’s trump card, with each member possessing a 5th Rank cultivation base. For this operation, nine strongholds had been assigned two Seed Divine Guards each, and Ninth and Tenth Children were among the most exceptional within their ranks.
On the chaotic battlefield, two red beams appeared, piercing through two machinery armors sequentially. The armors collapsed, revealing the powerful Seed Divine Guards standing atop the giant rats.
“I didn’t expect we’d have a chance to engage so soon. I thought we would need to wait longer,” Ninth Child remarked.
Ninth Child’s tail was exceptionally long; with a flick, it ensnared a hidden Night Squad member by the neck.
Five figures swiftly emerged, their blades flashing in dim light. However, Ninth Child’s tail remained unscathed. With a forceful jerk, the Night Squad member’s head cleanly detached from his body.
“Old Fifth!” Dark Rain, who had intended to infiltrate the stronghold from this direction, hadn’t anticipated encountering such formidable opponents. Old Fifth was immediately discovered.
Fueled by grief and anger, Dark Rain realized that if they didn’t retreat now, all his team members would perish. “Fall back!”
The Night Squad members began their retreat, but Ninth Child’s eyes turned crimson. “Can you really escape? The flesh of the gifted is quite valuable; it could fetch a good price.”
Ninth Child retrieved Old Fifth’s corpse and charged towards the remaining Night Squad members.
Seeing that Old Four was about to be killed, Old Third shoved him aside, shouting, “Run!” Then, he activated his Crystal Core for self-destruction.
Boom! A massive explosion erupted, but with just a wave from Ninth Child, the energy of the blast dissipated. “Tsk tsk! What a waste, not even any meat left. You’ve truly upset me, gentlemen.”
“Tenth, what are you waiting for? Act quickly!”
Tenth Child looked in another direction, “Ninth Brother, there are several gifted individuals over there, all 3rd Rankers. If we consume them, our own Innate Skills could improve significantly. These 1st and 2nd Rankers here aren’t worth much.”
Despite having one blind eye, Tenth Child exuded ample menace, clearly indicating no shortage of kills under his belt.
“Take care of this group first. Haven’t you heard about that matter?” Ninth Child spoke with frustration, as if disappointed by Tenth’s lack of understanding.
Rumor had it that their lord was currently only 1st Rank. If they offered these gifted individuals to him, gaining his favor, their future prospects would soar, and even the squad leader might seek to curry their favor.
Nodding eagerly, Tenth Child exclaimed, “Ohh! We’re on our way.”
Tenth Child wasn’t sure what Brother Jiǔ meant, but knowing that Brother Jiǔ was smarter, following his lead couldn’t be wrong.
Two red streaks charged towards the Night Squad.
Seeing Old Third killed, Dark Rain cursed, “Motherfucker, Dark Thunderstorm!”
He swiftly turned, launching two bursts of black thunderstorms while simultaneously pulling Old Four away.
The twin red lights effortlessly shattered the black thunderstorms and continued their assault on Dark Rain.
“Captain!” Old Four, witnessing Dark Rain facing two formidable adversaries with determination, abruptly turned back towards Ninth and Tenth Children before self-destructing.
“Old Four, who the fuck told you to do that? Who allowed you to act on your own?” Dark Rain yelled as he ran.
Just then, another dark flash streaked past his vision, “Old Second, what are you doing? Get back here, damn it!”
Dark Rain tried to grab hold of Old Second, but failed, followed by a massive explosion.
