After gathering this information, Wu Xianyao produced a jade slip containing a Cultivation Technique, inspired by the card slot’s abilities.

Approaching Yun Die, he said softly, “This is a Cultivation Technique suitable for ordinary individuals. If you succeed with it, come to the Immortal Martial Academy and find me; I will exceptionally accept you as my disciple.”

Though spoken quietly, Yun Die heard every word. She took the jade slip, watching as Wu Xianyao departed, feeling a glimmer of hope rising within her.

Her sister was dead, her parents fallen in battle – what could she do? Perhaps seeking revenge was the only way to regain her strength.

Yun Die chose not to succumb to despair after her sister’s death but instead decided to live on meaningfully.

She knew that if her sister and parents were still alive, they would want her to continue living well. Over these past few days, Yun Die consciously avoided thoughts of giving up.

Although she considered joining the military, knowing full well it could mean certain death for an ordinary person like herself, she refrained. It wasn’t fear of dying, but rather the fear of disappointing her family. So, Yun Die did not pursue that path.

Now, opportunity knocked at her door. A chance to survive and potentially avenge her family presented itself, and she resolved to seize this moment no matter the cost.

At night, the city always buzzed with activity, filled with the sounds of grilling food, beer bottles clinking, and lively chatter outside bars and foot massage parlors.

Wu Xianyao strolled down the street, found a barbecue joint, and ordered some grilled skewers along with two bottles of beer and two glasses.

Before settling in, he uploaded Xia Yi’s Basic Chapter, which was previously provided by the system, to the academy’s official website.

As his order was being prepared, a white-haired youth took a seat across from Wu Xianyao.

Lan Haoyue initially had no intention of approaching, but when Wu Xianyao handed the Cultivation Technique to the girl, Lan Haoyue couldn’t help but observe closely.

Noticing that Wu Xianyao ordered enough for two – two bottles of beer and two glasses – Lan Haoyue realized he had been spotted. Confidently, he sat down opposite Wu Xianyao.

Lan Haoyue bit off the beer cap, poured himself a glass, then filled one for Wu Xianyao as well. Smiling, he said, “I witnessed today’s battle beyond the Fortress.

I also have some information: The Alien Race aimed to breach Black Cliff Fort this time, seeking more blood resources. A traitor within the military supplied the defense plans to the Black Bat Clan. Additionally, details about the academy’s Battle Teams were leaked.”

Lan Haoyue continued, “The Black Bat Clan provided all the information about your academy’s Battle Team to the Blood Wolf clan. Additionally, there was another piece of news shared with you, but I suspect it might not be of significant importance.”

Wu Xianyao raised his eyebrows, surprised by this explosive revelation from the Great General. It seemed Lan Haoyue had ulterior motives.

Considering this, Wu Xianyao responded, “Indeed, I am unaware of any specific news involving my students. However, I do possess another piece of information.” He paused, implying that while he could share the news, certain conditions needed to be met.

Lan Haoyue focused intently, unsure of what exactly Wu Xianyao knew, but sensing that it must be crucial based on his demeanor.

“I can ensure that your academy’s rating will be elevated by one level beyond its current standing. How does that demonstrate my sincerity?”

Lan Haoyue showed considerable foresight here. Of course, if anyone else had presented such a proposal, he would have hesitated. But Wu Xianyao, being the husband of the Ninth Princess, held a unique status.

With a Great General defending their line and substantial influence within the Congress, accusing Lan Haoyue of treason might seem plausible, but no one would ever suspect the Xia family of disloyalty. Their position was too secure.

Even with irrefutable evidence, no one would believe that the Xia family could be traitors.

Wu Xianyao felt sharing this information was indeed worthwhile. Even if Lan Haoyue hadn’t offered any conditions, he would have found a way to pass it on regardless.

“A direct descendant from the Alien Race’s rear is coming, aiming to breach the Black Cliff Defense Line solely to enhance his innate abilities.” Wu Xianyao delivered this straightforward message and took a sip from his cup afterward.

Upon hearing this news, Lan Haoyue initially furrowed his brow but quickly composed himself. It seemed the Great General had good control; true strength lies in mastering one’s emotions rather than being controlled by them.

“If I give you an opportunity, will you take it?” Lan Haoyue looked at the formidable individual before him, acknowledging Wu Xianyao as such even in their presence.

Facing two 4th Rank powerhouses and effortlessly dispatching them, few others could match Wu Xianyao’s feat without overwhelming superiority in rank.

“Oh! That sounds intriguing. My services come at a high price, though. If you can handle the potential fallout, then I’m not opposed to taking action.”

Wu Xianyao narrowed his eyes, drawing upon his over a century of worldly experience from his previous life. At most, Lan Haoyue was around sixty years old, still lacking compared to his own breadth of knowledge.

Before Lan Haoyue could even mention specifics, Wu Xianyao had already guessed what he was being asked to do. It seemed Wu Xianyao was no ordinary individual.

“Since we’re both astute, let me be direct. If you help eliminate that heir, I’ll ensure that your students training here receive maximum protection from the military. This way, you can have peace of mind, and our cooperation will flourish. What do you think?”

Wu Xianyao pondered briefly. Lan Haoyue’s proposition was straightforward: by providing protection for the students, the military would also witness the prowess of Martial Dao firsthand. Consequently, many soldiers might choose to join the academy, making it a mutually beneficial deal that aligned perfectly with Wu Xianyao’s interests.

“It’s indeed a tough decision, but I agree. Just remember to give me the coordinates when the target appears.” Wu Xianyao raised his glass, clinking it against Lan Haoyue’s. “By the way, haven’t you considered visiting your sister? She seems quite troubled; this issue needs addressing lest it affects her Martial Dao journey.”

“Ah, don’t worry about that,” Lan Haoyue replied mysteriously. “I have my reasons, and trust me, you’ll be surprised when the time comes.”

Wu Xianyao pursed his lips. “Fine, I’ll keep an eye out.”

However, when Lan Haoyue unexpectedly appeared before Wu Xianyao later that day, he was still quite surprised.

At the Black Cliff Mountain Command Room, Lan Haoyue entered with a strong scent of alcohol on his breath. “Bah! Who would’ve thought a Headmaster could spout such lewd jokes? Eighteen touches this, ‘legs define beauty, but chest is absolute,’ and ‘bigger hips for better fertility.’ Ridiculous!”

Wu Xianyao returned to his hotel room, also reeking of alcohol after consuming over a dozen cases of beer and thousands worth of grilled skewers with Lan Haoyue.

He hadn’t expected Lan Haoyue to have such hidden flirtatious tendencies. “Tsk tsk! His taste in women leaves much to be desired though.”

Wu Xianyao sat cross-legged, activated his Cultivation Technique, dissipating the alcohol effects, and began cultivating. Sleep was not an option; cultivation was his priority.

After a night of diligent practice, Wu Xianyao’s cultivation base subtly advanced.

The next day, Wu Xianyao observed the trainees again, noticing their growing teamwork silently improving. Soon enough, even 3rd Rank Aliens would stand no chance against them.

Satisfied that there were no immediate concerns, Wu Xianyao headed to the supply point to pick up his delivery – yes, a delivery.

Xiao Lin had crafted several weapons for him, including a monocle that allowed the wearer to see through the disguises of the Alien Race, making it particularly useful in this environment.

Among them were some formidable weapons, which Wu Xianyao found essential. Suffering from “insufficient firepower syndrome,” it seemed this affliction carried over to his current life as well.
