At this moment, regardless of their academy rankings, all team members wore their school badges prominently on their chests. When observed by Heaven’s Chosen from other academies, it elicited only slight frowns.

One student remarked, “They seem quite ordinary; I can’t sense any innate skill fluctuations. Perhaps their academy sent them to be sacrificial lambs.”

This individual belonged to the renowned Divine Wind Academy, known for its strong capabilities. The speaking student himself was already at the 2nd Rank.

Martial Artists possess keen senses, and naturally, these comments were overheard by the group.

However, they remained unfazed. Apart from Chen Beixuan and Li Junlin, who had reached the Blood Ignition stage, the others had attained the realm where their Qi and Blood were akin to a vast sea, granting each arm with the strength of fifty thousand pounds.

Against such talentless opponents, one punch could easily prove fatal.

Proximity combat is the forte of Martial Artists, while most gifted individuals struggle in close-quarters battles, barring those with specific talents.

The team found lodging at a hotel within the academy’s designated area.

Later that evening, everyone gathered at Chen Beixuan’s room for a brief meeting.

Chen Beixuan reviewed the military mission module.

“The academy missions vary greatly – there are rescue missions, elimination tasks, assassination assignments, and more. My suggestion is to start with the elimination tasks.”

“Once we’re more familiar with each other, we can start taking on rescue and assassination missions. During this month, we have performance targets to meet – at least one mission per day is required. If we fail to achieve this, the academy’s resource rating will decline,” Chen Beixuan explained.

He then opened the college Battle Team interface on his wristwatch, added all team members, and synced it with the military system. With that, their Battle Team registration was complete. However, when it came time to choose a name, Chen Beixuan asked, “What should our squad be called?”

Lan Yuecai quickly raised her hand, suggesting, “How about Moon Shadow Squad?”

Jiu Xian’er, still munching on an apple, chimed in loudly, “That’s a terrible name, not catchy at all! Let’s go with Red Braised Pork Squad.” She looked smugly at everyone after her proposal.

Lin Yue and Lin Yang rolled their eyes, “Seriously? Both of you have such awful naming skills. Why not just call ourselves Sun-Moon Squad?”

Initially engaged in a verbal spat, Lan Yuecai and Jiu Xian’er paused mid-argument upon hearing this suggestion. They simultaneously turned and exclaimed, “No way! That name is horrendous!” Then, they united against Lin Yue and Lin Yang, escalating the debate further.

Jiu Xian’er called Lin Yue a big idiot, while Lin Yang retorted by mocking her as “Flat Princess.”

Lan Yuecai criticized Lin Yang’s suggestion, prompting him to raise an eyebrow and challenge, “Care to test if I’m ‘up’ for it?”

As their disagreements escalated, Li Junlin shrugged and turned to Chen Beixuan, suggesting, “How about Team Samsara?”

Chen Beixuan shook his head, “Not feeling that one. Let’s go with Team Blood! The Alien Race has shed our people’s blood, turning the lands beyond the Black Cliff Defense Line crimson. Henceforth, we’ll stain their territories red with their own blood.”

“Agreed, let’s use that name.” Ignoring the ongoing argument, Chen Beixuan entered the team name and uploaded it.

Soon, messages appeared on everyone’s wristbands: “Welcome, Team Blood, to the Black Cliff Defense Line.”

The quarreling four paused and looked at Chen Beixuan, who took a few steps back, unsure of their intentions.

Without warning, they charged towards Chen Beixuan, piling up like human dominoes, leaving him at the bottom.

“Who named it such a lame squad?” – Linyue and Linyang’s words.

“My Red Braised Pork.” – Jiu Xian’er spoke up.

“You being Captain doesn’t matter; we can’t just overlook this name issue.” – Lan Yuecai chimed in.

Li Junlin stood aside, unsure whether to join the conversation or not.

Outside the window, Wu Xianyao observed the team’s lively atmosphere and nodded with a smile, pleased by their camaraderie.

The next morning, Team Blood assembled at the hotel entrance. The previous day’s dispute had been resolved only after Chen Beixuan promised them a barbecue feast.

Clad in black armor, the six members emerged from the academy’s quarters.

“Our mission today is to clear out a gathering point of Xenobeasts located ten kilometers away from the Fortress,” Chen Beixuan explained. “It’s not highly dangerous, but still, stay alert and cautious. It should be quite manageable.”

After a moment of thought, he continued, “Let’s focus on these elimination missions for a few days first. Then, we’ll consider taking on rescue tasks afterward.”

Chen Beixuan’s plan was sensible, allowing the team time to acclimate to the environment and gain a better understanding of the outskirts’ conditions. There were also important precautions they needed to familiarize themselves with.

“Understood,” came the responses of five team members over the academy communication channel.

As for the military channel, they decided not to use it due to its limited range of only 10 kilometers. Instead, they opted for the academy channel, which had no distance restrictions. By connecting their armor to their school emblems, communication was seamless and convenient.

Xia Yi also set up a dedicated Battle Team room, allowing them real-time coordination while within it.

After registering at the Fortress, the team stepped through the Space Gate. Outside, each member drew their weapons – sabers hung from their waists, long spears gripped firmly in hand.

Other academies’ teams were also undertaking missions nearby, equipped with diverse weaponry ranging from sniper rifles, electromagnetic submachine guns, to bows and arrows. Both technological arms and cold weapons were common sights.

Each type had its advantages, and neither could convincingly outperform the other.

“Which academy is that? Rare to see black armor.”

The speaker was the same male student from Divine Wind Academy as yesterday.

Unfazed by such comments, Chen Beixuan addressed his team over the channel, “I’ve marked our coordinates; let’s move quickly to save energy. Use the Qi and Blood Wings only if necessary for escape.”

Chen Beixuan had thoroughly prepared for this mission. Environmental challenges could be easily mitigated with their armor, but conserving physical stamina was crucial on the battlefield. Without sufficient energy, even running would become problematic.

The six individuals began their swift movement, leaving behind black streaks as they disappeared from the Fortress.

“Damn, that speed! Are they 3rd Rank powerhouses?” exclaimed the man from Divine Wind Academy once again.

“Don’t speak recklessly outside our academy; if those people took offense, you’d owe them an apology,” cautioned his teammate.

The student named Yaohui lowered his head, “Yes, Captain, I understand.”

Above them, Wu Xianyao’s radiant wings fluttered as he stood in the sky, watching the group recede before following swiftly.

On the Fortress, the white-haired young General had been observing one particular armored figure with slight surprise.

At that moment, his aide approached with a file, “General, I’ve retrieved information on that individual.”

Lan Haoyue refocused, speaking calmly, “Send it to me.”

A projection appeared, displaying Lan Yuecai’s details. Upon seeing this, Lan Haoyue became visibly concerned, “Why is Little Yue here at the front lines? No, she must return immediately; it’s too dangerous.”

Lan Haoyue felt anxious; facing millions of aliens wouldn’t make him flinch, but concern for his own kin left him worried.

“Wait, Immortal Martial Academy.” Lan Haoyue attempted to use his authority to investigate the Headmaster’s identity, only to receive a message stating insufficient clearance.

He frowned; his access level was usually high enough to retrieve any information from Great Xia’s databases. The restriction suggested interference from Congress.

Realizing this route was blocked, Lan Haoyue decided to personally speak with his little sister, urging her to go back.

Now, only he and his younger sister remained of the Lan Clan. He could risk his life, but not hers – she carried the responsibility of continuing the clan lineage.

Leaving the Fortress, Lan Haoyue set out to learn more about the origins of this Immortal Martial Academy.
