After Xia Jiufeng and Mao Mao signed the contracts, Wu Xianyao received a notification from the system indicating that the task was complete.

Entering his office in the Outer Court, he prepared for an upcoming outing but first needed to address some immediate tasks.

Closing the door of the Outer Court Headmaster’s Office, Wu Xianyao opened the system panel.

[Host: Wu Xianyao / Title: Acting Headmaster]

[Age: 17]

[Gender: Male]

[Cultivation Technique: Nine Suns World Illuminating Art (Incomplete)]

[Realm: Blood Ignition Realm, Intermediate Stage]

[Physique: None]

[Preaching Points: Continuously increasing…]

[Card Slot 1: Unexplored]

[Card Slot 2: Unexplored]

[Card Slot 3: Unexplored]

[Faculty Members ×1]

[Task 3: Establish the Immortal Martial Academy and enroll 30 students. Reward: Martial Skill – Heaven Slaying Sword Drawing Technique, two additional faculty members, time limit: two years.]

Wu Xianyao felt slightly perplexed by the “continuously increasing” Preaching Points, wondering how they were being calculated.

Then, information appeared in his mind: Preaching Points were only used for initial tracking purposes. Now that the academy was established, Preaching Points would be phased out. Instead, maintenance of the academy would grant one hour of Deduction Time per month, along with the activation of Deduction Card Slots.

Deduction Time would directly fill the assigned card slots. With only three slots currently active, even if deduction failed, the progress would be preserved until successful completion.

Wu Xianyao pondered; the presence of these card slots allowed for infinite deductions, enabling him to open new ones as soon as one task was completed.

Deciding to utilize one slot, he aimed to deduce a powerful Martial Skill. Even if it didn’t finish immediately, given enough time, it would eventually succeed.

For the remaining two slots, Wu Xianyao planned to deduce additional Martial Skills, eliminating the need to focus on each skill individually.

As he contemplated this, a card materialized in his hand. By visualizing the details of the Martial Skill he wished to deduce, those specifics would be inscribed onto the card.

Firstly, Wu Xianyao focused on an Aerial Combat Skill, followed by a soul-strengthening Martial Skill. For the last slot, he chose a sword technique inspired by a TV series from his previous life, the Vanquishing Evil Style.

With anticipation, he observed the deduction progress.

[Slot 1: Aerial Combat Skill Deduction – 5% Complete]

[Slot 2: Soul Martial Skill Deduction – 3% Complete]

[Slot 3: Vanquishing Evil Style Deduction – 1% Complete]

Wu Xianyao checked the time; it seemed these deductions would take several days. The system would notify him once completed. With that thought, he retrieved his faculty card.

As a faculty member, Wu Xianyao could customize the cards according to his needs and even assign names as desired.

Considering Junlin and Beixuan were heading to the battlefield, they needed an instructor well-versed in combat tactics. Recalling a legendary “Slaughter God” from history, Wu Xianyao began writing down his requirements:

Unrivaled on the Battlefield, Mastery of Deceptive Warfare Strategies, Decisive in Killing.

Name: Bai Qi (Slaughter God) should suffice.

These broad requirements included some specific details, but Wu Xianyao was uncertain about what exactly would transpire.

A card materialized in his hand.

[Name: Bai Qi / Title: Slaughter God]

[Realm: Initial Spirit Gathering Stage / Upgradeable]

[Physique: Slaughter God Physique]

[Martial Skills: Slaughter God Blade, Blood Sea Body Casting, Blood Slaughter Spear Technique]

[Ultimate Tactic: ★★★★★]

[Martial Power: ★★★★★]

[Teaching Ability: ★★★★★]

[Notes: Based on host’s reference, Bai Qi possesses mastery over various battle formations, military strategies, and training methodologies. Can initiate classes for Art of War, Battle Formations, Spear Techniques, and Blade Techniques.]

Satisfied with this card, Wu Xianyao promptly crushed it.

A space gate appeared, revealing a middle-aged man clad in white robes, emanating an overwhelming aura of bloodlust, as if emerging from a sea of blood.

Upon seeing Wu Xianyao, the white-robed man reined in his aura and offered a slight bow, “Apologies for keeping you waiting, Headmaster.”

Wu Xianyao stepped forward to help Bai Qi rise, “Teacher Bai, your arrival is perfectly timed. I was indeed concerned about instructing the students, but now with you here, my worries are eased.”

Bai Qi chuckled, “Since I am here, rest assured, Headmaster. I will devote all my efforts to teach each student diligently.”

Wu Xianyao escorted Bai Qi through the academy, providing introductions at every location while simultaneously announcing Bai Qi’s arrival on the official academy website.

Bai Qi would teach four classes daily: Art of War, Spear Technique, Blade Technique, and Battle Formation. These were elective courses, with only one teacher currently available and a limited number of students. For now, the workload was manageable, but as more faculty members joined in the future, it would expand.

After summoning Xia Yi, Wu Xianyao departed from the meeting room.

In the student dormitories, Chen Beixuan and Li Junlin shared a room. Excitedly, Chen Beixuan pointed at the official website’s announcement, “We have a teacher now! There are four classes to choose from, and since there’s just one teacher, we can all enroll.”

Li Junlin sprang up like a fish leaping out of water, quickly scanning the teacher’s profile before signing up for all classes, “Finally! It’s not easy getting a teacher, especially one who is already at the Third Realm, a 3rd Rank Martial Dao expert.”

Meanwhile, in another dormitory, Lan Yuecai and Jiu Xian’er were also discussing the news. “I didn’t expect Xianyao to find a teacher so quickly, especially a warfare-oriented one,” exclaimed Lan Yuecai. “Jiu Xian’er, hurry up and sign up, stop eating!”

Jiu Xian’er, still enjoying her portable hotpot meal, paused briefly. She wasn’t particularly hungry; rather, Pan Xiaopang’s self-heating hotpot was simply irresistible.

“Coming, coming! I’m signing up for all four classes,” Jiu Xian’er exclaimed gleefully. “Ha ha, soon I’ll be the fiercest War Goddess around.” With that, she took another slurp from her instant hotpot noodles.

The first class was on gunmanship, and Wu Xianyao arrived early at the classroom. In truth, he had considerable expertise in this area.

Bai Qi entered the room, gave a brief self-introduction, then led the students to the open square where he began explaining the Tyrant Blade Step.

His explanation was clear and concise, followed by drills and culminating in practical combat exercises. Wu Xianyao nodded approvingly; as expected, a teacher’s teaching skills were impeccable.

While Wu Xianyao understood these concepts himself, articulating them effectively would have been challenging for him.

“This teacher is impressive,” Xia Yi finally managed to catch up with Wu Xianyao.

Concerned Wu Xianyao might slip away again, he hastily continued, “Sir, the Congress has announced reforms regarding the academy. Essentially, students will no longer need to enlist directly into the military after graduation.

Instead, they must form teams to enter the battlefield, providing their own protection. The assessment for resource allocation will now be based on the xenobeasts and alien creatures hunted by these teams.”

Xia Yi truly lived up to being a competent assistant; if left to Wu Xianyao, he likely wouldn’t have discovered this until at least three days later.

“You mean during recruitment season, our students don’t need to enlist? Instead, they form academy teams and directly engage on the battlefield?”

Wu Xianyao was intrigued by this policy while also understanding its rationale. Although it would reduce the number of high-tier combatants available, it indirectly protected the growth of Chosen.

On the battlefield, Chosen often became targets for assassination by the Alien Race. The military not only had to protect these Chosen but also needed to coordinate their forces effectively, which proved challenging.

Now, Congress intended for academies to operate independently. They would be unaware of where the academy teams were stationed, ensuring secrecy around their movements.

This approach mitigated potential assassinations and allowed Chosen from academies to conduct surprise attacks, potentially yielding remarkable effects on the battlefield.

“Yes, exactly as you’ve understood, Headmaster. Recruitment season begins in about ten days. At that time, each academy will send a small team to the frontline battlefield for a month before returning.”
