Worried about Mo Shouchen, Liu Lei decided to change his plan.

He first used the stun gun on “Mo Shouchen” twice more to ensure this monster wouldn’t wake anytime soon. Then, he rushed to their hotel room with the room key at hand. But just as he was about to open it, Mo Shouchen rushed out.

If the monster inside chased after him, it would definitely cause a big commotion in the corridor, so Liu Lei pushed him back in and rushed into the room with the stun gun. Finally, the two of them managed to subdue the monster together.

After hearing Liu Lei’s story, Mo Shouchen couldn’t help but sigh. He hadn’t expected that when he hid in the first cubicle, Liu Lei was also hiding in the third cubicle. They were so close, yet regrettably missed each other. If they had met then, none of this trouble would have happened.

After bandaging their wounds, the two decided to leave immediately. They changed into clean clothes and carefully walked out of the room.

Perhaps because it was late at night, the corridor was quiet and deserted.

They tiptoed to the elevator. Just one more elevator game, and they could say goodbye to this terrifying world.

The elevator was resting on the first floor. Mo Shouchen pressed the button and silently prayed for nothing to go wrong before the elevator arrived.

1, 2, 3… the floor indicator lights kept changing. When the number reached “8”, a roar came from the other end of the corridor.

Mo Shouchen and Liu Lei exchanged a glance and whispered in unison, “We’re doomed!”

“Didn’t you say you knocked him out?”

Liu Lei shrugged helplessly. “Yeah, but who would have thought he’d be up so soon? Maybe…he developed immunity after being shocked twice.”

The roar had indeed come from the Mo Shouchen of this world. It was impossible not to feel the rage in his fierce cry!

Ding!

The elevator reached the tenth floor, the doors opened, and the two quickly jumped in. By this time, that terrific roar had alerted the people in other rooms, and a commotion began to liven up the once deserted corridor.

After pressing the first-floor button, Mo Shouchen frantically pressed the close button with his heart in his throat.

If they get trapped in the elevator by those monsters outside, they would be finished for good!

Just then, a burly, shirtless man stormed over, clearly annoyed at being woken up. Coincidentally, as he passed the elevator, he glanced inside, and his eyes met with Liu Lei, who hadn’t covered his face.

The man’s expression instantly turned ferocious, and he lunged at them. Luckily the doors closed at the nick of time.

The man rammed into the doors with a loud thud, but it wasn’t enough to stop the elevator from descending.

The two of them inside were nearly scared to death. If the elevator had been even a second slower, they would have become this monster’s midnight snack.

Mo Shouchun sighed shakily. He tried to ease the tension and fear by cracking a joke, but before he could finish, the elevator stopped on the sixth floor, and an old man entered.

Mo Shouchun quickly covered his face. This time, Liu Lei was smarter and covered his face as well, but their actions aroused the old man’s suspicion.

Although the old man was somewhat hunched over and not as strong as the monsters they had encountered before, both Mo Shouchun and Liu Lei were injured. They had to be cautious since they might not necessarily have the upper hand in a fight. Besides, it would be even more troublesome if they alerted other monsters.

Mo Shouchun had a light bulb going off and yelled at Liu Lei, “Why did you fart in the elevator? It stinks like hell!”

Liu Lei, understanding perfectly, played along. “Trying to pin the innocent?! It was clearly you who farted! I heard it!”

“Ugh, whatever. It stinks too much! I can’t stand it!” Mo Shouchun cursed as he pressed the button for the third floor. As soon as the elevator doors opened, he rushed out, and Liu Lei followed.

The old man watched their departing figures and sniffed unconsciously. Then, looking puzzled, he muttered, “I don’t smell anything. Did I catch a cold?”

…

Liu Lei followed behind Mo Shouchen, asking in confusion, “Why did we come out? Weren’t we going to the first floor?”

Mo Shouchen didn’t stop and explained as he walked, “To return to our world, we can’t be disturbed while riding the elevator. With this commotion, we definitely can’t complete the elevator game. We need to find a way to make them not use the elevator.”

“Make them not use the elevator? That’s unlikely, isn’t it?”

“I’ve thought of a way. Although it’s a bit risky, we have no other choice.”

“What way?”

“Starting a fire!”

In their world, when a fire breaks out, anyone with common sense wouldn’t use the elevator to escape. It’s just that they didn’t know if the residents of this world had that kind of safety awareness. But they also had no other choice but to take this plunge.

Liu Lei thought this method was reliable, so he stopped talking and followed Mo Shouchen to the restaurant on the third floor. Since it wasn’t mealtime, the restaurant doors were shut, but they weren’t locked. There was only a sign at the entrance showing meal timings.

The hotel’s restaurant and kitchen were combined. The two of them quickly found cooking oil in a corner and poured it on flammable materials. The fire was lit, and it spread out immediately.

Although the fire sprinklers were triggered quickly, the fire could not be extinguished. Instead, the flames only intensified further.

Mo Shouchen and Liu Lei each carried a bottle of oil to the corridor, poured the remaining of it on the carpet, and set it on fire. They put on the gas masks they had found in the kitchen, went down the stairs to the first floor and hid in an inconspicuous corner of the stairwell.

The fire spread rapidly, and soon the entire first floor was filled with acrid smoke. Piercing alarms sounded throughout the hotel, and people began to run down from upstairs. It seemed that the entire hotel was gripped by panic due to the fire.

Mo Shouchen and Liu Lei seized the opportunity to blend into the crowd and ran out together. An old man beside them muttered as he ran, “Cough, cough, it’s so pungent! My nose is perfectly fine, so why couldn’t I smell Amy’s farts in the elevator?”

Mo Shouchen: “…”

Liu Lei: “…”

Reaching the lobby on the first floor, the two quietly slipped away from the crowd and boarded the elevator. Because everyone else was busy escaping, no one noticed their unusual behaviour.

Once inside, Mo Shouchen pressed the floor buttons in order. The elevator went up and down; no one was waiting for it on any of the floors. It seemed his gamble had paid off. However, when the elevator stopped on the 10th floor, as soon as the doors opened, someone rushed in.

“Zou Qianqian?!”
