When Zou Qianqian suggested playing the elevator game, Liu Lei specifically looked it up online. Although the posts were somewhat terrifying, he assumed Zou Qianqian wanted to test her courage and didn’t take the game too seriously.
In fact, he started joking as soon as they entered the elevator, only to swallow them all once they reached the fifth floor because there really was a woman standing outside! A woman in a white dress and red high heels, no less!
While it wasn’t unusual for a woman to ride an elevator alone at midnight, the warnings about the “woman on the fifth floor” made Liu Lei quickly turn away. Zou Qianqian, on other hand, immediately hugged him, and buried her face in his chest.
This was Liu Lei’s first time having such close contact with his crush. He should have been celebrating, but what happened next made it impossible for him to feel happy at all!
Once the woman entered the elevator, he pressed the button for the first floor. Normally, the elevator should have gone down, but he felt it go up instead. This shattered any remaining hope he had. It seemed the elevator game was real, and they had opened a portal to another world!
Zou Qianqian was trembling violently in his arms, and Liu Lei was too frightened to open his eyes. He began to regret agreeing to play this game, but it was too late. There was no turning back.
The elevator quickly reached the tenth floor. Liu Lei was calculating how to best protect Zou Qianqian once they got off the elevator. Unexpectedly, the moment the doors opened, Zou Qianqian pushed him away like a startled bird and ran out without looking back.
Because it was so sudden, Liu Lei lost his footing and stumbled to the floor. Worse still, his back bumped into the woman’s leg. It nearly suffocated him!
The icy touch on his back made Liu Lei dare not look up. He scrambled to escape, but as soon as his upper body made it out of the elevator, he felt numbness spread around his ankle—his foot had been grabbed!
“Where are you going?”
The hoarse voice tore at Liu Lei’s heart like a meat grinder. He felt like his soul was about to leave his body.
He desperately clung to the elevator doors, trying to struggle free, but the woman’s hand was like shackles on a death row inmate, firmly binding him.
The stalemate lasted a full half minute before the elevator doors began to close automatically. Just when Liu Lei thought he was doomed, he suddenly felt the grip on his ankle loosen. He had broken free from the woman’s grasp!
He leaped out of the elevator like a frog and ran down the corridor without looking back. Whether the woman chased after him or not, he didn’t dare look back to confirm.
Liu Lei ran all the way to the public restroom at the end of the corridor and leaned against the wall to catch his breath. When he glanced behind him, the corridor was empty. That woman hadn’t chased after him.
Only then did Liu Lei breathed a long sigh of relief. He then noticed his right foot was bare. It was precisely because his shoe and sock had come off during the struggle that he was able to escape the woman’s grasp.
Hearing this, Mo Shouchen couldn’t help but sigh. Liu Lei’s escape from the elevator was similar to his own. It seemed that female ghost wasn’t very clever. Otherwise, how could she have let her prey escape twice in the same manner?
There was no joy at surviving since this was another world, and his current situation wasn’t safe. Moreover, Liu Lei would have never imagined Zou Qianqian would push him towards that woman to chance her escape!
It was truly chilling.
He didn’t want to look for Zou Qianqian, but when Liu Lei decided to return to his world alone, he was horrified to discover that because he hadn’t taken the elevator game seriously, he had no idea how to get back.
Desperate, he hid in the last stall of the men’s bathroom, hoping to use his phone to search for a way back, but his phone couldn’t connect to the internet no matter which way he turned and jumped.
After trying for a while, in despair, he randomly sent a WeChat to Mo Shouchen, and surprisingly, he received a reply!
He clung to his friend like a lifeline, but only after exchanging a few texts, he heard Mo Shouchen’s voice coming from outside.
Because this was another world, he was cautious and didn’t answer directly. Instead, he asked Mo Shouchen through WeChat if he was calling him. When he received a negative answer, he felt a deep fear set in his chest.
Clearly, the person outside knew he was hiding there, but… that person wasn’t Mo Shouchen!
The footsteps grew closer. First, the door to the first cubicle was pushed open, followed by the second…

Liu Lei gritted his teeth and decided to take the initiative to catch them off guard first. He pulled out a stun gun from his pocket; it belonged to Zou Qianqian who had left it with him earlier because her pockets were full.
The footsteps stopped right outside his stall. Liu Lei gripped the stun gun tightly. When the person outside pushed at the door, he swiftly unlocked it and flung it open.
A monster that looked almost exactly like Mo Shouchun stood before him. Although terrified, Liu Lei acted without hesitation and pressed the stun gun against its neck. The monster’s ferocity, however, exceeded his expectations.
Even while being shocked, it still lunged at him and bit his shoulder!
Liu Lei endured the excruciating pain and pressed the button on the stun gun tightly. After what felt like a lifetime, the monster’s body went lax, and Liu Lei himself lost consciousness due to intense pain.
After an unknown amount of time, Liu Lei was awakened by the sound of a door being pushed. He opened his eyes and found that the Mo Shouchen of this cursed world was still unconscious.
Fortunately, the guy had blocked the door when he fell, preventing the person outside from pushing it open.
Soon, he heard another person enter the bathroom, and the two people outside began to talk. He immediately recognised them as Mo Shouchen and his other self of this world.
Through their conversation, Liu Lei knew that Mo Shouchen was safe for the meantime. He decided to wait until his other self fell asleep and then try to reunite with Mo Shouchen.
After they left, Liu Lei searched “Mo Shouchen” and found the room key and phone. When he saw the WeChat messages on the phone, he understood why he had been found.
Turns out that the texts he had sent to Mo Shouchen were also received by the Mo Shouchen of this world. He himself had provoked this monster!
While scrolling through the phone, a new WeChat message suddenly popped up. It was a drooling emoji sent by “Liu Lei”.
