In normal archaeology, finding the ruins of a civilization is something to celebrate.

But they were mineral tribes.

A kind of being that, except for fear, had no other emotions.

They didn’t create, didn’t seek knowledge, let alone build a civilization.

In the ruins of this civilization, they also found ancient mineral tribe remains.

These remains were older than those found in the war ruins.

In other words, these remains really were the owners of the lost civilization.

Before the war, there really had been a mineral tribe civilization in the Needle Stone Forest.

“Could they have been infected by the Vein Mutated Disease patients too?” the researchers were shocked.

Had it  existed from ancient times? Had it always been latent?

Some even speculated that the previous civilization was created when all mineral tribes were infected by Vein Mutation Disease.

But how did this flourishing civilization go extinct? Why did war suddenly break out?

The researchers investigated the ruins and found that all the remains there had died at the same time.

And after that period, the original war broke out.

It was as if a sudden cataclysm had wiped out the civilization.

This discovery chilled every researcher.

Was the end of the Vein Mutated Disease civilization always destruction?

What caused the civilization’s destruction? The stubborn researchers kept digging.

They found more traces of war, older wars.

And before those wars, another even older civilization’s ruins.

It was a cycle!

A Vein Mutation Disease civilization would arise during war, only to be destroyed by some sudden force.

None of these civilizations could escape this fate.

By studying the strata and ruins, the researchers found that the cataclysm that destroyed each civilization was an earthquake.

A massive earthquake that swept the entire Needle Stone Forest.

At the height of each civilization’s prosperity, the earthquake would arrive as if on schedule and destroy everything.

Then, the war would restart.

As Ci Xing finished, Mo Ling was full of questions.

“Does every Vein Mutation Disease civilization get wiped out after reaching a certain stage?

“Wasn’t the Vein Mutation Disease created by the red cloth’s ability?”

“Could it have existed before?”

While he was thinking, Ci Xing led Li Luo to the bottom of the pillar.

There was a slanting tunnel leading down into the depths.

“This is Civilization Number One , the first civilization we found,” Ci Xing said at the entrance.

“Right below here?” Li Luo was surprised.

“Yes.”

Following the tunnel, they soon reached a desolate ruin.

It was a partially excavated pit, the deepest part still buried by sand and rocks.

But from the exposed part, you could see the civilization’s former prosperity.

Unlike Neon Village, the architecture here was very uniform: upright shells, standing vertically on the ground.

The shell entrances curved close to the ground, with tall pointed tops.

Some shells were big, some small, but all had the same style, nothing like Neon Village’s diversity.

Still, these orderly buildings let you imagine the civilization’s former life.

Li Luo pointed to a carving on a building and asked, “What’s that?”

“That was their faith.”

Mo Ling looked where Li Luo pointed,it was the same mighty, many-armed mineral tribe he’d seen carved in the passages.

“Their art was very advanced; the villagers of Neon Village often imitate them,” Ci Xing explained.

No wonder the passage carvings outside also had that giant mineral tribe; the villagers must have copied these ruins.

But now, all of it was buried in dust, lying quietly deep beneath the Needle Stone Forest.

Unknown to the world.

Ci Xing looked sadly at the ruins. “It’s all gone.”

Nearby, many mineral tribes were still studying the ruins. When they saw Li Luo and the cube, they just glanced curiously and kept working.

After a while, Ci Xing composed himself and said to Li Luo, “What I want your help with is testing a device.”

He led Li Luo back into the pillar, down a passage to an underground space.

There was a huge, multicolored sphere made of all kinds of stone-a hodgepodge of the Needle Stone Forest’s minerals.

A staircase led to the center of the giant stone sphere.

With a wave of Ci Xing’s hand, an entrance appeared in the center of the sphere.

“What I want is for you to go in for a while, and tell us if you feel anything,” he said.

“Or, any kind of signal.”

Ci Xing patiently explained, “Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous. We’ve tested it ourselves, and some humans have gone in, and we’ve brought in animals from outside the Needle Stone Forest, none were harmed.”

“What is it?” Li Luo was confused.

“A signal amplifier, like a prism, focusing all the signals in the Needle Stone Forest to the center.”

“If you don’t believe me, we can find an animal to demonstrate.”

Ci Xing was very sincere.

Li Luo hesitated, then agreed.

“No need to demonstrate, but I want to bring my relic in,” she said.

Ci Xing nodded quickly. “No problem, of course. Do you need anything else? Want to bring anything else?”

“No,” Li Luo said, then took the cube and climbed the stairs into the stone sphere.

The entrance closed behind her.

A passage led to the center, where there was a platform. Li Luo went to the center as Ci Xing instructed.

Inside, the sphere was lined with dazzling stones. When the entrance closed, ripples began to spread over the stones.

But they didn’t last long before the entrance opened again.

Li Luo came out, looking confused.

After she walked down the stairs, Ci Xing checked on her.

“Looks like you didn’t feel anything,” he guessed.

Li Luo nodded, indicating she hadn’t heard or sensed any abnormal signal.

She even took out her electronic screen.

“I turned on all types of signal receivers, nothing abnormal.”

Ci Xing glanced at the screen, surprised. “Human technology really is convenient. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

Li Luo still looked very puzzled.

“Nothing at all?”

Mo Ling finally snapped out of it and checked Li Luo’s screen. The signal data really showed no fluctuation.

He scratched his head, baffled.

“Then what did I just see?”
