I’m Trapped in a Cube - Chapter 269
“Come.”
Little small fry transmitted the command to all replicas.
“Follow behind me.”
Zero-One was the first to stick close, and light emanated from both their bodies as they pressed tightly together.
This was an ability they had discovered after researching the “swarm” authority.
Just as Zero-One had said, even with the most basic authority, the fish swarm had not completely understood it thoroughly.
The subsequent replicas also slowly stuck close, pressing tightly together. The edges where they made contact emitted a faint light, like glue bonding them together, firmly securing them in place.
More and more replicas swam over, following behind their companions. Their body size also grew larger and larger, and Little small fry’s field of vision gradually became broader.
At this moment, it was both a member of the fish swarm and an entire fish swarm.
On the reflective membrane, the increasingly massive body was reflected.
The fish swarm had previously destroyed many creatures. To maintain that massive body, they had applied the authorities possessed by those creatures to themselves.
Antlers, bull heads, snake bellies, bird claws…
The replicas in the fish swarm were like dragon scales, tightly fitted together, forming a giant dragon with a massive form. The power of those creatures was also blended within.
When the final gap at the tail was filled by a replica, Little small fry’s voice once again spread throughout the fish swarm.
“Let’s go.”
The giant dragon let out a dragon’s roar, the sound shaking the void, causing even the soft membrane to begin trembling violently. It swayed its dragon body, accelerated once, and charged into the membrane.
“Success.”
The giant dragon entered this scene without any obstruction, encountering no hindrance whatsoever.
Familiar scenery appeared before them: a bright moon in the sky, waves and beaches, trees and ground combined together, but these things now appeared incredibly small in the giant dragon’s eyes.
It merely breathed out lightly, and the sun’s authority began to take effect. Scorching dragon breath surged forward like massive waves, swallowing everything.
After a wave of heat rolled through, only charcoal and sparks remained. These fragile scenes had already been destroyed by the fish swarm once; they didn’t care about destroying them again.
Even the sea that had once been able to extinguish the sun was quickly evaporated by the flames.
The fish swarm not only possessed the sun’s authority, they also had the authority of sand.
Sand represented drought. They had previously used this authority to destroy the great sea.
When both worked simultaneously, even that seemingly infinite sea couldn’t hold out for long. Before long, it had been completely evaporated.
The giant dragon represented the combination of all authorities the fish swarm had acquired. At this moment, it was already a symbol of absolute power. They didn’t need to understand where this place was or what authority it represented—they only needed to simply destroy it.
Anyway, in the end they would definitely acquire this authority, and then they could research it later.
Little small fry watched as the giant dragon destroyed the beautiful scenery before its eyes, and everything around them once again turned into ruins.
It had been a long time since it had gone to war together with the fish swarm. Obviously, it was also shocked by the fish swarm’s current strength. Those replicas that had once been weak could now do such terrifying things.
While Little small fry was marveling, the giant dragon had already completely destroyed everything here, soaring into the sky, looking down upon all living things.
Moonlight poured down, and the giant dragon leisurely turned its body, looking toward the final thing in the scene—the moon.
“Awaiting your instructions,” Zero-One’s words slowly came through.
Little small fry was anxious. That moonlight shining on its body—it suddenly felt it wasn’t as gentle as before. An unknown heat seeped into its body, making it feel irritable from the warmth.
“Those things aren’t real,” Zero-One suddenly said another sentence.
“What do you mean?” Little small fry quickly asked.
“This scene, or rather everything here, is fake. After we destroyed those things, we didn’t gain any authority. They might just be some kind of illusion or reenactment.”
Zero-One earnestly explained.
“We used other authorities to test and found that the things here break at a touch, very fragile. Compared to real scenes, they’re much easier to destroy…”
Little small fry was stunned, staring blankly at the distant moon.
“Fake?”
But with that moonlight shining on its body, Little small fry still couldn’t make up its mind, even if it was fake.
“Let’s wait first. The sun here is hidden. Let’s destroy the sun first, then finally destroy the moon.”
At this point, it could only delay slightly.
The giant dragon just floated quietly in the air, waiting for the moon to slowly set.
Little small fry seized this final bit of time, carefully feeling the moonlight wrapped around its body.
Just like when it first saw the moon, light bands wrapped around its body, turning into points of light that slowly scattered onto it. An indescribable tranquility smoothed away the heat and irritation in its heart.
The moonlight also shone on the ruins that had been destroyed.
After a shower of light, the wonderful scenery appeared once again.
At this moment, Little small fry forgot about the fish swarm and peacefully bathed in the moonlight, letting that moonlight envelop it completely.
Everything returned to its original state.
Back then, it only had itself, no fish swarm, and didn’t know about any authorities. Back then, it possessed an entire world and possessed that beam of moonlight that belonged uniquely to it.
The responsibilities brought by the fish swarm were now completely forgotten.
Little small fry recalled its experiences. It didn’t know when it had started, but there were more and more things on its mind, a tangled mess.
Fish swarm, responsibility, conquest, authority, development…
In the process of exploring the world, it seemed to have become less pure.
The former it would never have considered so many things. Swimming around was enough to make it very happy.
It had gained authority and learned more.
But that authority had also changed Little Fish, making it completely become something else.
This was both transformation and pollution.
Only that moonlight remained eternally unchanged.
Under the moonlight’s illumination, the sea also returned to its original appearance.
Little small fry looked at the giant dragon’s reflection on the sea surface, somewhat dazed.
The world’s overlord, a mighty form, god-like abilities, all authorities of all things under control, power more terrifying than even the sun.
Was this what it wanted?
On the sea surface, the moon’s shadow was also reflected.
Little small fry had never thought that these two things it was so familiar with could combine to create such a beautiful picture.
It controlled the giant dragon, carefully floating above the sea surface.
The fearsome dragon claws gently scooped up the moon from the water.
Water flowed down from the gaps between the claws, glittering and sparkling.
A surging wave rolled over, soaking the giant dragon’s body and shattering the moon into pieces.
Little small fry stared blankly at the shattered moon. The spray also knocked its thoughts back to reality.
“Did you discover something?”
Zero-One’s calm voice came from beside it.
The dragon claw froze, then slowly retracted. The giant dragon rose into the air again, no longer looking at the moon that was still rippling.
…
“Nothing.”
“I just think… it’s very beautiful.”
