The slaughter of small Spiral Turtles continued.

The number of small Spiral Turtles kept increasing, and the predators’ behavior became increasingly frenzied.

For the small Spiral Turtles, this was a thrilling adventure that might even cost them their lives.

But for those predators enjoying their feast, this was an authentic all-you-can-eat banquet.

The sand waves were like an never-stopping conveyor belt, delivering fragile yet delicious sea turtles from afar. The predators only had to wait in place to have sea turtles delivered right into their mouths.

Unknowingly, these predators no longer concealed themselves, emerging one after another, approaching the sea surface, rolling and competing for food.

Various types of predators also set aside their prejudices at this time. Many different species of predators mixed together, and because food was completely abundant, they seemed to not mind sharing their territory at all.

The small Spiral Turtles also adopted various evasion methods, the most effective being burying their bodies in the sand waves, which could help them avoid most predators.

However, some predators completely saw through their camouflage, precisely finding these hidden small Spiral Turtles.

But more predators didn’t discover these hidden small Spiral Turtles, or rather, they disdained spending time searching for these deeply buried “treasures”, there was still plenty of conspicuous food outside that wouldn’t hide.

Even though it was just having a sip of soup, this was still a rich broth full of meat scraps and nutrients.

Blood flowed into the ocean. Some small fish came in schools, gathering in groups and surging toward the falling debris, sharing these leftovers that the large predators disdained.

Small fish schools swam back and forth. Having just finished eating in one place, they were attracted by blood to another place. Obviously they too could have a full meal in this feast.

Captain He’s voice rang out again:

“We’re approaching deep waters. Large creatures may appear. Everyone please don’t panic.”

“Large creatures?“

Mo Ling was just thinking this when a white shadow flashed past the edge of his vision.

Then, a strange jellyfish wrapped all over with white streamers, like a plastic bag, appeared in view.

It seemed its target wasn’t those small Spiral Turtles, but those predators who had just feasted.

The strange jellyfish floated quietly in the sea, its massive body silently drifting beneath the sand waves, covering the entire area.

At this time, the jellyfish had completely covered the area below.

Even the most sumptuous food would eventually be filling. Several ichthyosaurs, mouths bloody from eating, dragged their heavy bodies swimming toward the deep sea.

But these ichthyosaurs seemed unable to see the jellyfish, crashing straight into those white streamers, then being entangled within the white streamers.

The streamers wrapped the entire fish body, pulling it toward the jellyfish’s body.

However, even after being tightly wrapped by the streamers, these ichthyosaurs showed no resistance. They still moved their bodies normally, completely unaware they had entered the jellyfish’s body.

These fish-shaped mummies swayed their bodies, slowly being swallowed by the jellyfish, the process was very peaceful.

The jellyfish just floated in the water like this, waiting for prey to come to it.

More and more predators, after feasting, turned around only to become food for this jellyfish.

They all seemed unable to perceive those white streamers, being silently slaughtered completely.

Li Luo, who had been at the porthole the whole time, also noticed this peculiar creature. With a curious expression, she took out her electronic screen and began searching.

Soon, this creature’s information appeared:

“Mummy Jellyfish.”

This was a jellyfish-like creature covered in white streamers, carnivorous, with a very large appetite.

But their locomotive ability wasn’t strong.

They had only one hunting method, waiting for prey to come to them.

Because in other creatures’ eyes, Mummy Jellyfish simply didn’t exist.

Mummy Jellyfish had a strange sensory organ. Once prey was locked onto by this organ, it would lose all perception of the Mummy Jellyfish.

Simply put, once discovered by a Mummy Jellyfish, you couldn’t discover it.

After being locked onto by a Mummy Jellyfish, prey would completely ignore the Mummy Jellyfish.

This was a very strange phenomenon of sensory loss.

Couldn’t see, couldn’t hear, couldn’t smell, and wouldn’t have tactile sensation… no matter what sensory method.

Researchers had once conducted an experiment:

They had a volunteer hold an infrared camera and observe a Mummy Jellyfish through glass.

As soon as this volunteer reached the glass, they were locked onto by the Mummy Jellyfish and lost all perception.

“Do you see the creature in front of you?” the researchers asked.

“What creature?” The volunteer was completely confused.

The researchers quickly prompted, “Look at the infrared camera in your hands. The bright outline in it is the creature.”

The volunteer looked at the camera in their hands with a puzzled expression.

“What bright outline? There’s nothing there.”

However, at this time, the Mummy Jellyfish’s outline was clearly visible in the camera’s image.

The volunteer had lost even the most basic judgment ability.

The researchers still didn’t give up and continued, “Take the camera and step back, go to the left rear behind that wall, out of the Mummy Jellyfish’s locking range.”

This was a very simple instruction, but the volunteer now looked confused with a blank stare, “What are you talking about? What is a Mummy Jellyfish?”

Hearing the volunteer’s words, the researchers could no longer sit still.

“Quick, save him!”

Several security personnel rushed forward and pulled the volunteer back.

After helping him escape the Mummy Jellyfish’s lock, the researchers asked with grave expressions, “Why didn’t you follow instructions to escape the lock?”

The volunteer scratched their head, seemingly not knowing why they had asked such a foolish question.

“I suddenly forgot what a Mummy Jellyfish was.”

Hearing this, the researchers immediately became interested, “You forgot? You were clearly in the middle of an experiment, and we carefully explained it to you before the experiment. You could actually forget?”

The volunteer thought for a moment and nodded.

“Yes, I forgot.”

Saying this, the volunteer suddenly gestured for the researchers not to interrupt, then began deep thought.

Their expression changed from confusion to shock, then gradually became grave, before making an astonishing statement:

“Just now, the concept of ‘Mummy Jellyfish’ disappeared from my mind.”

Fortunately, humans were hiding in the sturdy sand ship and weren’t affected by this feast.

Li Luo lay at her room’s porthole, calmly watching this scene.

Aside from a bit of curiosity, no other expression could be seen on her face.

This was just a natural law. At other boundaries between the third and second layers, the same thing was probably happening.

This was truly a cruel carnival.

As a mere observer, she had glimpsed the Abyss’s cruelty.

Death and life were inherently one. The small Spiral Turtles’ deaths were inseparable from this sea area’s vitality.
