Mo Ling stared fixedly at the mucus dripping from the small bottle.

Transparent with a slight yellowish tint, it formed a long thread hanging from the bottle’s mouth.

Old Xu seemed to treasure it greatly. After pouring just a little, he immediately stopped.

“This is good stuff, gotta use it sparingly,” he said carefully, using the cap to catch the mucus at the bottle’s mouth before capping it again.

Mo Ling looked at that mucus, his stomach churning.

That unique taste still lingered in his mouth, carrying waves of floral fragrance that was very refreshing.

But once you had doubts in your heart, even the most delicious things would make you nauseous.

Mo Ling only felt that the originally gentle sensation in his throat spread along his esophagus, as if something sticky was clinging to him.

This feeling kept overlapping with images in his mind.

Toads in dark waterways.

Thinking of this, Mo Ling felt nauseous again. How much he had enjoyed drinking the tea just now was how much he suffered now.

However, Old Xu didn’t care at this time, enjoying it by himself, sipping the flower tea with added mucus while praising it endlessly.

“You don’t know what you’re missing by not drinking this. You can’t get this stuff anywhere else in the Abyss, only Oasis City has it.”

Although he kept wanting Li Luo and the other person to try it, both had a wary look and even kept pulling their chairs farther away.

“…”

Once you knew the source of the liquid in that bottle, you could never look at Old Xu’s flower tea the same way again.

“Too stimulating.”

Suddenly, he realized something else, “Maybe Oasis City won’t have this anymore in the future… what a pity.”

Countless transparent pustules turned into small beads, rolling on the body.

Soft gelatinous material bouncing around.

Finally bouncing into his own mouth.

Officials were using various Relics to reinforce Oasis City. Mo Ling could occasionally hear the busy sounds of the guard teams.

Although the things currently supporting Oasis City were all candy, these candies couldn’t last long under the desert’s hot temperatures.

After the crisis, Oasis City officials notified all residents to stay home as much as possible and wait for another announcement after officials finished clearing all the various candies.

Li Luo took Li Xiangyi back to her room. After giving her a few instructions, she closed the door under Li Xiangyi’s pleading gaze.

Although they were just across the hall, when it came time to part temporarily at night, Li Xiangyi refused to let go of Li Luo’s hand no matter what.

“We don’t know when we’ll see each other again,” Li Xiangyi said with a face full of sorrow.

“Tomorrow morning,” Li Luo was stunned for a moment, then answered flatly.

“…”

Mo Ling watched this scene with some emotion.

For Li Xiangyi, she truly didn’t know when she would see them again. After losing her sense of time, each meeting was just an overlay of images.

In Mo Ling’s view, Li Xiangyi’s current incomprehensible sensory state should have long since ceased to be that of a normal person.

But she still seemed able to maintain normal human behavior.

“It’s as if something is constantly correcting her.”

Could it be that the wish hadn’t ended?

Thinking of Li Xiangyi’s wish, Mo Ling had this speculation:

“Because she wished to become human, no matter how her senses are distorted, she will live according to normal human patterns.”

Under the Rainbow Shuttle’s cost, Li Xiangyi should have long lost her qualifications as a human.

But the little sprite’s wish-fulfilling ability kept correcting her “future,” making her “exist” as a human.

Thinking that the seemingly normal girl was originally a powerful and unknown creature, Mo Ling found it very absurd.

No one would connect that overwhelming purple gauze with that slightly strange girl.

Mo Ling only hoped Li Xiangyi could live peacefully in Oasis City according to her wish.

“Sometimes forgetting your wish is still a good thing.”

After Li Luo closed the door, Li Xiangyi stood alone in the room in a daze. After a while, she began wandering around the room.

Losing directional sense was indeed something that extremely affected daily life.

Fortunately, the room wasn’t large. Li Xiangyi seemed to have a special way of determining where she should go.

But Mo Ling watched for a long time and couldn’t figure out what method it was.

Maybe like the little sprite said, it relied on intuition.

However, after turning around the room several times, Li Xiangyi seemed to understand the room’s layout and began moving like a normal person.

“She knows the directions?” Mo Ling was somewhat shocked.

Li Xiangyi began moving normally around the room.

Putting her backpack on the table, finding the water dispenser to drink water, putting her combat suit in the washing machine, finding the bathroom to wash up, organizing equipment and bedding…

No different from a normal person’s behavior.

But Mo Ling quickly noticed something strange.

When Li Xiangyi moved, she always walked in straight lines. Even when encountering corners, she would only suddenly turn at an angle and continue walking in a straight line.

She moved around the room like this, turning this way and that, doing her tasks methodically.

As if the path had already been predetermined.

Mo Ling also discovered that every time Li Xiangyi passed through the same place, her path was completely identical, without the slightest deviation.

Even if it meant taking a much longer route, she would follow the same path.

And her behavior when encountering corners was also completely identical each time.

But she didn’t find this strange at all. As Li Xiangyi gradually became familiar with the room, her expression became more and more relaxed.

“What’s going on?” Li Xiangyi’s strange behavior made Mo Ling increasingly curious.

After careful observation, Mo Ling finally noticed a detail.

Behind Li Xiangyi, a shuttle kept spinning at high speed.

But that shuttle was completely empty, with nothing on it.

Wait, that wasn’t nothing!

That was a kind of thread!

Looking at that shuttle, Mo Ling finally understood.

“That’s a kind of transparent silk thread that marks all the paths she’s walked. She just needs to follow the thread to return to where she wants to go.”

Mo Ling couldn’t see that kind of thread, but he knew that Li Xiangyi’s room must already be full of such threads.

Li Xiangyi was like a spider, weaving thread wherever she went, forming a web. As long as she followed the web, she could find places she had been before.

This kind of thread couldn’t be seen or touched by others—only the Rainbow Shuttle’s owner could sense it.

“What should this thread be called? Path thread?” Mo Ling was very shocked.

A Relic’s cost wouldn’t affect its abilities. Li Xiangyi had used this rule, using a Relic to defeat a Relic.

Now Mo Ling no longer doubted that she could live normally in Oasis City.

Given enough time, Li Xiangyi could weave her own “web” throughout all of Oasis City. This web would slowly cover the entire Oasis City, and then Li Xiangyi wouldn’t get lost in Oasis City anymore.

“Indeed, you can never underestimate any Relic.”

Mo Ling in the Cube shook his head with emotion.

“Using a web to perceive this world is indeed a non-human perspective.”
