I’m Trapped in a Cube - Chapter 189
“About time.”
As soon as the purple gauze appeared, it swept toward the Spiral Turtle buried in the sand dune.
Fine gauze nets passed through the sandy ground, floating directly toward the turtle shell. When they touched the turtle’s body, they quickly contracted like ropes.
The hard gauze directly covered the Spiral Turtle’s body, wrapping it within.
The Spiral Turtle, already in torment, was strangled even more painfully and kept letting out desperate wails.
The protruding barnacles on the turtle shell were also crushed to pieces. The Shell People could only hide in the cracks of the turtle shell.
“The enemy has come! Attack!”
Seeing such a terrifying scene, these Shell People showed no fear. They hid in the cracks and began creating shells.
White shells climbed onto the purple gauze covering the turtle shell. That seemingly hard gauze was actually quickly wrapped by shells, then collectively shattered under pressure.
The Shell People were numerous and quickly occupied various parts of the turtle shell, beginning to corrode the gauze with shells. Soon, the gauze wrapping the Spiral Turtle was already riddled with holes.
As pieces of turtle shell vibrated, various cracks began mysteriously appearing on the gauze net in the sky.
The originally flat sky net was instantly pulled to different planes. The speed of the turtle shell’s vibration suddenly accelerated, and the entire sky net was torn full of cracks.
Like there were pistons under the turtle shell, these pieces of shell began rapidly vibrating up and down. Different shell pieces had completely different amplitudes and frequencies of vibration.
Each piece of turtle shell had different heights when vibrating up and down. This height change seemed to be directly copied onto the purple sky net, forcibly tearing it apart.
It was like an indescribable brute force was tearing the sky net from a distance.
Seeing this situation, the Shell People quickly repeated their method, using shells to corrode the gauze net trapping the turtle shell.
However, the Shell People’s shell corrosion soon couldn’t keep up with the gauze wrapping speed.
While using the gauze net to wrap the Spiral Turtle, the purple sky net also kept shaking.
Every shake would produce many layered, completely identical gauze pieces in the sky, as if these gauze pieces were endless.
In the blink of an eye, several more layers of gauze nets covered down.
After breaking through the gauze net on its body, it angrily looked toward the sky, and pieces of turtle shell on its body began vibrating.
Seeing this, the Shell People quickly hid in the turtle shell cracks, seemingly avoiding something.
The layered gauze nets rolled, and several more identical nets covered toward the Spiral Turtle.
Layer upon layer of purple gauze nets floated down along the sunlight, covering the turtle shell. The Shell People’s efforts were completely like a drop in the bucket.
The Spiral Turtle also seemed to feel its situation was very dangerous and kept struggling.
“This Spiral Turtle actually has such abilities?”
Just like the group of Shell People Mo Ling had once seen in Oasis City, they would constantly repeat various things, this was exactly what they excelled at.
These gauze pieces also made the sky even more purple. Sunlight passing through these gauze pieces illuminated the entire sand dune in purple.
Mo Ling also saw how terrifying the battle between these two creatures was and quickly hid to the side.
He didn’t want to be wrapped by that kind of gauze net or torn apart by the turtle shell’s power.
Fortunately, neither side in the battle affected him.
Mo Ling also didn’t understand why the Spiral Turtle could touch his future self. Perhaps that Spiral Turtle had other special abilities.
“I wonder if that Purple Gauze Creature can see me.”
The battle continued, but the Spiral Turtle was clearly at a disadvantage. It was already in a weakened state, and the Purple Gauze Creature had timed its opportunity to strike while it was vulnerable, constantly using endless gauze nets to wear it down.
Although so far, the Spiral Turtle had easily dealt with those gauze nets, the purple gauze still kept appearing, and the speed was getting faster and faster.
The Purple Gauze Creature didn’t care about its body being torn apart. Whether complete gauze nets or already broken net pieces, they all swept toward the Spiral Turtle en masse.
Layer upon layer of purple gauze nets were thrown like garbage, without any technique to speak of.
The Spiral Turtle could only keep destroying, using the turtle shell’s vibrations to cut the constantly attacking gauze nets to pieces, but this unrestrained use of power made it even weaker.
Just then, crystal-clear Spiral Turtle eggs fell into the sand pit.
The Spiral Turtle’s body also stiffened and collapsed.
The turtle shell was still vibrating weakly, struggling to tear apart the attacks.
It wanted to crawl out of the sand pit and tried several times but simply couldn’t get up. Facing the Purple Gauze Creature’s endless attacks, it had exhausted its strength.
Every time it crawled to the edge of the sand pit, it would slide to the bottom, trapped within.
Quicksand slid down into the pit, trapping most of the Spiral Turtle’s body. The shell cannonballs the Shell People had fired earlier had solidified the sand dunes around the Spiral Turtle, making it even more difficult for it to squeeze out of the quicksand.
The shells originally released to protect the Spiral Turtle had now become chains trapping it.
After exhausting its strength, the speed of the turtle shell’s vibration also slowed accordingly, no longer able to block the incoming gauze.
Gauze nets covered layer by layer, pressing the Spiral Turtle into the sand pit.
The Shell People hiding in the turtle shell cracks saw the situation was bad and crawled out again, wanting to use their old trick to corrode the gauze nets.
But when the shells climbed onto the gauze nets, these interconnected net structures became increasingly hard, adding much weight to the already unable-to-rise Spiral Turtle.
“God! What’s wrong with you?” the Shell People asked while continuing to create shells, trying to communicate with their god.
“Trapped, can’t get out…” the Spiral Turtle answered weakly.
It didn’t blame the Shell People’s actions but collapsed on the ground, letting those shells cover it.
The shells spread onto the sand dunes, burying the entire turtle shell within, and the Spiral Turtle’s traces could no longer be seen.
The white shells continued spreading, forming a white hill that buried everything about the Spiral Turtle.
Only the surrounding ring of moist saltwater lake could prove the Spiral Turtle’s former existence.
After seeing the Spiral Turtle trapped in the sand dune, the Purple Gauze Creature stopped its attack.
Twisted gauze surged out again, completely replacing the originally damaged body. Before long, it had completely recovered, returning to its appearance when it first appeared.
Seeing the Purple Gauze Creature’s strength was so formidable, Mo Ling quickly floated a bit farther away.
But the Purple Gauze Creature seemed unable to see Mo Ling, showing no reaction to the cube-person floating around in the sky.
“Can’t see me?”
Mo Ling was somewhat puzzled. Clearly the Spiral Turtle could see him, but this Purple Gauze Creature couldn’t perceive him.
Perhaps the ability to see the future had no connection to strength.
Mo Ling also didn’t know what this Purple Gauze Creature wanted to do.
After trapping the Spiral Turtle in the sand dune, this Purple Gauze Creature just stayed in the air, seemingly brewing something.
After a moment, in the center of the purple sky net, a ball of golden light suddenly flickered. The gauze wrapped this golden light and placed it above the sand pit burying the Spiral Turtle.
As soon as the golden light left the purple gauze, it began bouncing around everywhere like a playful child, constantly ricocheting between the cracks in the shells. The purple gauze quickly caught the golden light and placed it in front of a pool of clear water.
Upon seeing the clear water, the golden light immediately stopped running around and instead circled a few times before excitedly drilling in.
In the blink of an eye, it merged within, disappearing without a trace.
