Today seemed to be some kind of special day, as many people were heading toward the center of Oasis City.

The wide roads were completely jammed, and even the foot traffic seemed very crowded.

Li Luo and Li Xiangyi didn’t go look for housing, but curiously followed the crowd to a bustling plaza.

This plaza was near the core area of Oasis City, situated among the towers.

In the center of the plaza was a huge fountain that didn’t look man-made, but there were many layers of artificial protection around it, suggesting this fountain was very important.

Not only that, but many official personnel stood around protecting the fountain, and even some fully armed soldiers were on guard, constantly scanning the surrounding crowd, very vigilant.

But they weren’t being vigilant against some scar-faced Hunters.

They were watching a group of children and their parents.

These five or six-year-old children were being brought by their parents, apparently preparing to participate in some important activity.

These children’s faces were all full of expectation, while their parents all looked worried, with some even constantly scolding the children.

A little boy said to his mother who was pulling him along, “Can I have a gun that makes unlimited candy? As long as you keep shooting, different candies will keep appearing, bubble gum, lollipops, gummy bears…”

Before the boy could finish, he received a slap from his mother.

“Did you forget what I told you? I made you memorize it so many times, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten now!” The woman’s attitude was very harsh as she sternly warned her child.

The little boy immediately burst into tears, but the woman had no intention of stopping. She raged, “Cry, cry, cry, all you know how to do is cry! If you get it wrong later, you’ll have plenty to cry about! A candy gun, did other kids tell you to say that? They’re trying to harm you, don’t you know!”

While scolding, she slapped him again. The little boy was so frightened he stopped crying and could only sniffle with red eyes.

“Stop crying!” The woman pointed at the child and warned him viciously.

The little boy could only nod tremblingly.

“What is this about?”

Mo Ling looked at this vicious woman, feeling somewhat angry.

However, such scenes were happening everywhere.

These parents all had worry and irritation on their faces, constantly asking their children various questions, with many continuously scolding them, so that the place echoed with children’s crying everywhere.

“I want a doll that can change its own clothes. My friends all said to ask for this. Will I be the only one who doesn’t have one?” a little girl said to her mother.

Then she was also beaten to tears. The girl’s mother warned her she must stick to what she had memorized, and if she dared say anything random, she would throw away all the girl’s dolls.

Now the little girl could only hold back her tears and keep nodding in agreement…

“I want a paintbrush that can draw all colors, Dad,” a boy in a little suit said to the man pulling him along.

This man was very well-dressed and had a refined appearance, but hearing the boy’s words, he was still extremely impatient and glared angrily. However, he didn’t explode on the spot but said coldly, “Say what I taught you before.”

“If you complete the task according to my requirements, I’ll buy you that kind of paintbrush. You can have as many as you want.”

So the boy immediately nodded in agreement.

This father was relatively calm, at least he gave the child a promise.

But most of the parents on site had distorted expressions, while the children wailed loudly, with cries of anguish everywhere.

The official personnel by the fountain coldly surveyed the surrounding parents and children, showing no expression.

Finally, after anxious waiting, the officials checked the time and announced the activity would begin.

“Everyone line up according to the numbers distributed by the school and come to the fountain in order. Those whose numbers are called should come forward, those not called shouldn’t crowd! After parents bring their children to the designated location, please leave quickly and don’t linger! No noise!”

The passage opened, and screens and loudspeakers on site began broadcasting numbers.

There was a fully armed soldier every two steps. Those parents who had been angrily shouting at their children lost their previous aggressive demeanor when they saw these soldiers.

They could only push their children, urging them to move forward quickly.

“Number 1.” The mechanical voice of the broadcast spread throughout the plaza.

The woman who had been slapping her child patted the boy’s head again, urging him to go forward quickly and stand in front of the fountain, while she herself was led to a waiting area by soldiers.

The little boy walked to the designated position in front of the fountain. Tears still hung in his eye sockets, his hands anxiously grabbed at each other, both small hands scratched red, and the bright red slap mark on his face hadn’t faded yet.

The gushing fountain water suddenly swirled up, transforming into a giant hand that grabbed the child into the fountain.

Immediately, the entire fountain emitted golden light, with flickering points of light flying out from the fountain like fireflies.

The little boy was wrapped layer by layer in spring water and disappeared from sight.

Mo Ling quickly let his vision penetrate into the spring water and found the little boy.

He was now standing in a spray of waves, with various beautiful scenes flashing with golden light appearing on the water flow surrounding him.

All kinds of candy, along with sparkling guns, the guns shooting bubble gum bullets that wrapped around the little boy and flew him into the sky…

The spring water in front of him transformed into a cute golden sprite who asked him:

“Little friend, what do you want most?”

It was a clear and gentle voice, persuasively coaxing.

“Don’t lie.”

The little boy gritted his teeth and said what he wanted:

“I want a gun that makes unlimited candy! It can make all kinds of candy, all the candy in the world! Bubble gum, lollipops, gummy bears…”

As he spoke, he happily raised his hand, making the shape of a gun.

The sprite listened, smiling and nodding.

“You’re an honest child. I’ll fulfill your wish.”

The sprite pointed with both hands, and a gun made of various candies appeared in the little boy’s hands.

When he pressed the trigger, rings of cotton candy like clouds appeared.

The golden sprite circled around him, looking at the little boy with satisfaction. “Little friend, do you know about Relics?”

“Yes, my teacher taught me…” the child answered earnestly.

“Good. This gun is a Relic. If you want to keep using it, you need to fold an animal out of candy wrappers and give it to the gun on your birthday every year, then it will listen to you.”

“But I don’t know how to fold animals. I only know how to fold paper airplanes and hats,” the little boy said fearfully, tears beginning to well up again.

Seeing this, the sprite quickly touched his little face to comfort him. “Paper airplanes work too, aren’t paper airplanes eagles! Hats are fine too, hats are turtles!”

The little boy thought for a moment before smiling again.

“Okay!”
