I’m Trapped in a Cube - Chapter 111
“Isn’t that too much of a coincidence?”
Why this?
Mo Ling couldn’t understand what connection this title had with what the Ancient Mineral Tribe (had mentioned.
Li Luo was clearly also confused by her new title, looking at her nameplate ( for a moment before putting it down, her face full of puzzlement.
This nameplate was also made by some relic. The titles Mo Ling had seen before were all related to the holder’s abilities.
“Could it be more than just abilities?” Mo Ling was completely baffled.
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on the nameplate title, Mo Ling noticed some movement ahead.
A figure was charging straight toward Li Luo, it was a Hunter!
This Hunter wore thick goggles and was wrapped up tightly.
The Hunter rushed up to Li Luo, braked hard, glanced at Li Luo and the cube behind her, then hurriedly asked, “Are you new?”
Li Luo nodded.
The Hunter didn’t waste time, dropped two words, then rushed past Li Luo.
“Run!”
His hurried words echoed in Mo Ling’s ears.
“What did that mean?”
The Hunter moved so fast; Mo Ling almost didn’t catch it.
When he came to his senses, he was sure he hadn’t misheard.
He told Li Luo to run? Was something chasing him?
“Could it be some powerful creature?” Mo Ling waited a moment, but saw no pursuer.
Li Luo also looked bewildered by the Hunter’s strange behavior, standing there at a loss.
Worried there really was danger ahead, Li Luo took out a spherical observation device and sent it flying forward, but all the way to the Black Tower, everything showed as normal.
Still puzzled, Mo Ling saw another figure appear in his field of vision, it was the same Hunter, running back from the direction he had just escaped.
“What now?”
The Hunter spotted Li Luo, clearly shocked, and rushed up to her again, panting, “I told you to run! I wasn’t lying!”
He was so out of breath that his words were slurred.
Before Li Luo could ask, he ran off toward the Black Tower.
After a few steps, he saw the Black Tower ahead, immediately turned around, and ran off in another direction.
“……”
“Where was he trying to go?” Watching this Hunter act like a headless chicken, Mo Ling was completely confused.
Li Luo’s observation device flew around the area, still nothing unusual, no danger at all.
“He’s not going to run back here again, is he?”
Sure enough, not long after, the Hunter came running back from the direction he’d just left.
He looked exhausted, stopped in front of Li Luo, gasping for breath, his goggles fogged up.
“What are you running from?” Li Luo asked, seizing the chance.
The Hunter, panting, couldn’t speak, just raised his hand and pointed at the Black Tower.
Li Luo followed his finger and asked in disbelief, “The Black Tower?”
The Hunter nodded vigorously.
When he finally caught his breath, he started talking anxiously, but his words were mixed with strange terms.
“There’s a mango inside the zebra, it’ll change your radar. If you don’t run, you’ll soon find this mango. It should be an area, wide mango, ah, anyway, just run!”
After saying this, he looked around, picked a direction, and hurried off again.
Now Mo Ling was even more confused.
“Zebra?”
“Mango?”
“Radar?”
“Are those relics?”
Li Luo searched her electronic screen, but found nothing matching those terms.
Nothing.
Just then, the Hunter reappeared, and this time he seemed unable to run anymore, drenched in sweat, arms drooping as he trudged forward.
Seeing Li Luo, he looked utterly hopeless. When he saw her still searching her device, he shook his head and came over.
But this time, the Hunter’s words were even stranger, like a jumble of random phrases.
“Don’t sing, there’s no such thing as a mouse mango, hurry up and learn, there are a bunch of cardboard boxes in the zebra that can’t be helped…”
As he spoke, Li Luo backed away, distancing herself from this strange Hunter.
Finally, the Hunter realized something was wrong, immediately stopped his bizarre speech, and brought his backpack to the front, anxiously rummaging through it.
He pulled out an electronic screen and started drawing.
His drawing skills were terrible, but it was clear enough-a little person trying desperately to get away from the Black Tower, with a long speed line behind.
Then the Hunter held up the screen for Li Luo to see, pointed at it, then at Li Luo, and mimed running away.
Worried she still wouldn’t understand, he rummaged in his backpack again and found a tattered piece of white paper.
He hurriedly unfolded it, stared at the writing for a moment, then decisively held it up to Li Luo.
He frantically pointed at the paper-on it were the two familiar words:
“Run!”
Finally, Li Luo nodded.
Seeing her finally react, the Hunter was overjoyed, carefully put away his paper, zipped up his backpack, and resumed his escape.
It seemed there really was some danger in the Black Tower, and that was why the Hunter had become so strange.
“Was it some kind of distortion?”
Better safe than sorry, Li Luo didn’t linger, she immediately turned and moved away from the Black Tower.
But after a while, Li Luo stopped again.
The icon on the map was spinning rapidly.
Mo Ling didn’t feel anything unusual, but with limited vision and endless dunes all around, he could only follow Li Luo as she kept changing direction.
But the map’s orientation kept shifting, the observation device would suddenly jump, as if this area was impossible to escape.
They were always heading toward the Black Tower.
No wonder that Hunter kept running back and forth, he couldn’t find a way out, trapped by this looping phenomenon.
“When did we enter this area?”
Mo Ling tried to recall everything that had happened along the way, but nothing seemed odd, they’d followed the official map route step by step.
All the landmarks and visuals matched up.
It seemed this effect had enveloped the area without them noticing, restricting anyone from leaving within a certain range.
What an impressive distortion.
Li Luo’s face was grave. She kept looking at the Black Tower ahead, lost in thought.
Maybe the Black Tower’s distortion had been going on for a long time, but because of this inescapable loop, no one outside knew.
The internal distortion might be even worse than imagined.
“Was it caused by some relic?”
Thinking of the Hunter’s strange speech, Mo Ling guessed, “This is a distortion affecting language or cognition.”
As soon as he thought of this, he flew to Li Luo and wrote a message on the electronic screen, sending it to her.
“Can you understand what I’m saying? I’m going to give you a test; one of the answers will obviously be strange, pick it out.”
“A. Strawberry, red.”
“B. Grape, purple.”
“C. Orange, orange.”
“D. Obtuse angle.”
Li Luo stared for a long time, her expression growing stranger, as if the question was especially difficult. After a while, she answered seriously,
“I can’t understand.”
