Chapter 59: The Heart Isn’t on the Right Side

***

Her expression was somewhat unnatural. Even though she knew Jiang Xiyue wanted to take advantage of her, after a series of internal struggles, Bai Ning still pressed her lips together and quietly said “okay.”

However, when Bai Ning was unbuttoning her shirt, as if remembering something, she suddenly stopped her movements, glared at Jiang Xiyue, her small face turning slightly red.

“Let me tell you first, my heart isn’t on the right side.”

Obviously not expecting Bai Ning to say this, Jiang Xiyue was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, the corner of her mouth slightly upturning.

“Am I the doctor, or are you the doctor?”

Bai Ning didn’t speak upon hearing this, only rolled her eyes at Jiang Xiyue. She indeed wasn’t a doctor, but didn’t she know where her own heart was located?

Is this really an examination? I’m too embarrassed to expose you.

Although it was only one piece, Bai Ning still dawdled for a long time taking it off.

Jiang Xiyue didn’t rush her, just quietly admiring and observing from the side.

After dawdling for quite a while, she finally took it off. Although they were both girls, she understood Jiang Xiyue’s thoughts about her. Lowering her head, she used both arms to cover her body and stood there bashfully.

“Alright, come over once you’re done undressing.”

Jiang Xiyue’s calm voice rang out, and the moment Bai Ning let her arms down, Jiang Xiyue almost instantly reached out with both hands.

“Mmph?!”

The sudden movement made Bai Ning’s mind go blank for an instant. She stared dumbly at Jiang Xiyue, whose hands were still moving, Bai Ning’s face turning completely red.

Although she wasn’t a doctor, this examination method didn’t look like what a doctor would do at all! And what she had just said, Jiang Xiyue hadn’t listened to a single word!

After being stunned for a moment, Bai Ning blushed and was about to try to move Jiang Xiyue’s hands away, but her hands had just been raised halfway when a voice came over.

“Bai Ning, what’s wrong?”

Since they were just doing a simple examination, there was actually only a door separating them from the outside, so speaking loudly would still be heard from outside.

Nan Zha’s voice came from outside. Looking at the figure gradually approaching the curtain, although there really wasn’t anything wrong, it made Bai Ning feel inexplicably panicked, and she hurriedly explained to the outside.

“No, nothing’s wrong, just dropped something.”

“Oh, okay, as long as you’re fine.”

Perhaps Nan Zha trusted Jiang Xiyue very much. After all, Jiang Xiyue was a doctor and also her partner, so her guard against Jiang Xiyue was practically nonexistent.

Moreover, if she really had to maintain high concentration all day, it would not only make Bai Ning feel like she had no private space, but she herself couldn’t handle it either.

So after hearing Bai Ning’s explanation, Nan Zha, who was already feeling a bit dizzy, sat back down in the chair to rest.

Her heart was pounding wildly. After watching Nan Zha’s figure move away, Bai Ning wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and let out a long sigh of relief, but the sudden force made her almost cry out again.

“Mmph.”

Covering her mouth tightly with both hands, Bai Ning stared at Jiang Xiyue in front of her with tears in her eyes.

“Originally I was supposed to examine the lungs and heart separately, but to save time, I’m directly operating on both sides.”

The seemingly reasonable explanation, along with her calm-as-water expression, formed a stark contrast with her abstract movements.

Anyone who believed this would be naive for life.

“You, let go quickly”

Her legs were getting weak, her body began to tremble slightly, and she felt her consciousness becoming a bit hazy. Bai Ning felt that if this continued for a while longer, she might collapse.

Like falling into a vicious cycle, Bai Ning wanted to break free, but because of Jiang Xiyue’s movements, she couldn’t muster any strength at all. Her small fists hitting Jiang Xiyue’s body, combined with the current scene, looked more like she was acting spoiled.

“Don’t talk, calm down, otherwise the heartbeat won’t be accurate, and keep your breathing steady too.”

Time passed like this. Bai Ning didn’t know how long had passed. Strange sensations filled her mind, making her thinking ability somewhat sluggish. Just when her body was about to start trembling violently, Jiang Xiyue suddenly withdrew both hands.

The sudden withdrawal made the strange sensations almost disappear. Bai Ning stood there stunned. As her thoughts began to return, Bai Ning felt the remaining trace of sensation and showed a slightly regretful expression on her face, though it was only for an instant.

After realizing she had such thoughts, Bai Ning felt her whole body heating up.

Feeling the residual warmth on her hands, Jiang Xiyue subconsciously sniffed.

Lily fragrance…

Her face showed a trace of intoxication. Looking at the bashful Bai Ning, thinking about the young lady outside who was lusting after Bai Ning’s body, Jiang Xiyue felt like her brain was trembling, her whole body radiating joyful emotions.

Although her self-control had always been strong, and she adjusted back in just an instant, she was still detected by the system.

Upon hearing this, Bai Ning’s face showed a helpless expression.

It’s over, completely over.

Are there only villainesses left in this broken world? This world should just explode already.

Jiang Xiyue’s face returned to calm, and she said to the still-shy Bai Ning beside her, “Alright, I have a general understanding of the basic situation. Currently, the problem doesn’t seem serious, but I still recommend doing some other instrument examinations.”

The corner of her mouth twitched slightly. Looking at the serious-faced Jiang Xiyue, Bai Ning was truly speechless.

Walking out the door, looking at Nan Zha leaning back in the chair with her eyes closed, her tired expression made Bai Ning feel somewhat heartbroken.

“Is the examination finished?”

Seeing Bai Ning and Jiang Xiyue come out of the room, Nan Zha forced herself to perk up and asked them.

Hearing Nan Zha’s words, Bai Ning first nodded, then said to Nan Zha with a caring tone.

“Yes, but there are still some tests to do. You look a bit tired. Why don’t you go rest first? Dr. Jiang and I can go by ourselves.”

After confirming that Nan Zha posed no threat to her, Bai Ning now considered Nan Zha her friend.

“It’s fine, I’m okay. Let’s talk after your examination report comes out.”

Nan Zha looked at Bai Ning’s caring expression, her face slightly flushing. Although she was tired, she still refused, wanting to see Bai Ning’s specific report before going to rest.

Seeing that Nan Zha was still insisting, Bai Ning didn’t continue to persuade her. She just looked at Nan Zha who was constantly frowning, and her small hand, soft as a young shoot, gently caressed Nan Zha’s brow.

“You don’t need to blame yourself for this. It was just an accident. As long as no one was hurt, everyone’s happy.”

“Mm.”

Feeling the warm small hand on her brow and the gentle, caring words, Nan Zha’s pretty face flushed red, responding somewhat uncomfortably.
