Chapter 50: The Villainess is Still Too Overpowered

***

Feeling the sensation on her lips, Bai Ning felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.

She didn’t know why, but Bai Ning kept thinking about that time with Nan Zha. Last time was more like wolfing it down, an emergency evasive maneuver of sorts, so there weren’t really many feelings to speak of.

But this time was different. Her senses felt like they were slowed down countless times, her heartbeat amplified in her eardrums like drumbeats, pounding non-stop. Before she knew it, she was getting a bit entranced.

When Bai Ning came to her senses and wanted to pull back, the other person wasn’t having it, pressing down on Bai Ning’s head and launching into an even more aggressive assault.

The moment Bai Ning went in for the kiss, even Jiang Xiyue was stunned for a second. She never expected Bai Ning to be so bold, going straight for it, and with her mouth no less.

She originally wanted Bai Ning to kiss her cheek. After all, they’d only known each other for a short while, how could they possibly do anything too excessive? The first request was completely just talk.

Then when the first request was rejected, she immediately lowered her demands and proposed the second condition.

People always compromise. When one request is outrageous, another previously unacceptable request suddenly becomes very reasonable.

When Jiang Xiyue finally let go, Bai Ning felt like she could barely breathe. Her whole body was dizzy, but she still forced herself to struggle free from Jiang Xiyue’s embrace, walking toward the sofa nearby. Only after sitting down and seeing that Jiang Xiyue made no move did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.

It took her a while to catch her breath. Looking at Jiang Xiyue, who only had a slightly flushed face and was breathing a bit heavily, Bai Ning felt extremely unfair.

The villainess is still too overpowered. When will she ever get nerfed?

She really couldn’t figure it out. As a female lead, she had no combat power, no business acumen, while the villainous supporting characters all had special skills, prestigious backgrounds, and top-tier physical attributes.

It really all just depends on the protagonist, huh?

Even with her system, the things she could exchange for were all acting skills, composition skills, singing skills, writing skills and the like. Maybe if she had a poor heroine setting, these might be useful.

But she’s a young lady of the Bai family, where would she need these things?

There wasn’t a single thing that could add to her strength when confronting villainous supporting characters.

[How are they useless? Acting skills can help you hide your emotions when facing villainous supporting characters, and can also help you earn feedback values better]

Hearing Bai Ning disparage it like this, the system was displeased. How was it useless? It was clearly that Bai Ning still didn’t understand how to utilize it after all this time.

Hearing the system’s words, Bai Ning unusually didn’t argue back, but fell into deep thought.

There seemed to be some truth to it. Acting could disguise her emotions, and then help her obtain feedback values better, which would help her achieve her dream of becoming a cool big sister faster.

Looking at her feedback values, after accumulating over these past few days without using much, she’d already reached the huge sum of 55,000.

Looking at the acting skills again:

Basic Acting: 10,000 feedback values

Intermediate Acting: 50,000 feedback values

Advanced Acting: 100,000 feedback values

Looking at the sky-high prices, the corner of Bai Ning’s mouth twitched slightly. So after working herself to death these past few days, and just getting beaten up, she could only exchange for one intermediate acting skill?

Gritting her teeth, although it was expensive, Bai Ning still decided to exchange for a skill first. After all, current investment was for better returns.

She’d always been unable to hide her emotions, one little trick and she’d be exposed. Meeting Jiang Xiyue and Nan Zha was fine since they weren’t particularly extreme.

But it wasn’t just them, there seemed to be yakuza young ladies and similar villainous supporting characters. If she couldn’t keep it together, wouldn’t she be done for?

“Intermediate Acting, exchange it for me!”

Although Basic Acting seemed more cost-effective, Bai Ning still chose Intermediate Acting. She’d always had this habit when buying things, don’t buy the best because it’s easy to get scammed, and don’t buy the worst because it’s easy to have problems.

[Purchase successful]

Although the system displayed this message, Bai Ning didn’t feel any changes. Somewhat confused, she was about to ask the system when…

She suddenly felt a strange gaze looking at her, and the system’s notification sound rang out at the same time.

[Jiang Xiyue infatuated, hungry, wants to eat, feedback value +369]

Wants to eat!?

What kind of emotion is this?

These feedback responses were all thoughts about Bai Ning, so this term was really quite niche.

This was the first time Bai Ning had heard this emotional feedback. She looked up toward Jiang Xiyue’s position, only to see Jiang Xiyue staring straight at her. Following her gaze, Bai Ning finally understood what this “wants to eat” meant.

Although Bai Ning was loli height, her body proportions were excellent, otherwise she wouldn’t be the female lead. Her legs might not look long, but they had very good proportions.

Her slender legs crossed together, her toes hooked in high heels constantly swaying, her small feet wrapped in black stockings yet still appearing somewhat fair, making it hard for Jiang Xiyue to look away.

Her gaze somewhat infatuated, she swallowed and decided to have a taste first next time.

Just as she was still admiring, a voice without any emotional fluctuation came over.

“Want to eat?”

“Want to eat, feels like chocolate flavor.”

It was almost an instinctive response. Perhaps because she felt no reservations being with Bai Ning, Jiang Xiyue spoke her inner thoughts aloud.

Although she realized something was wrong after saying it, she still didn’t show an embarrassed expression. Instead, she spoke with a serious look.

“But I still prefer white popsicles. Next time you wear one of each, I’ll try them both.”

Hearing Jiang Xiyue still making demands of her, Bai Ning almost laughed from anger. She’d seen people showing off in games and calling others “mommy,” but she’d never seen someone showing off like this in real life.

Originally she would have been very embarrassed and angry, but now her facial expression was very calm as she smiled and replied.

“Shouldn’t you be the one preparing these things~”

Bai Ning finally understood the function of Intermediate Acting, when activated, it could provide reasonable responses.

Hearing Bai Ning’s answer, Jiang Xiyue was genuinely surprised for a moment, then said seriously.

“Alright, I’ll buy every color available on the market.”

Hearing this, the corner of Bai Ning’s mouth twitched slightly. She realized she still couldn’t talk too much with Jiang Xiyue.

Turning to walk toward the outside of the room, Nan Zha was still looking for her everywhere.

“I’m leaving first.”

Watching the departing figure, Jiang Xiyue made no other moves. Today’s progress was already sufficient, some things couldn’t be rushed.

Holding her phone, Bai Ning was about to go out and report her safety to Nan Zha, but just as she opened the door, a figure appeared at the entrance. Bai Ning found herself staring directly at them.

“Nan Zha!?”
