Chapter 31: The End of the War

It was the most intense battleground of the war.

Suddenly, a young boy dressed in royal attire and a figure cloaked in black appeared in the midst of it.

Using magic that transmitted images and audio over a wide area, the arrival of the cloaked figure was broadcasted across the continent.

“Why is His Majesty’s aide here?”

“What’s with that human boy?”

The soldiers of the demon army murmured among themselves.

“Huh? Why are officers here all of a sudden?”

“Which unit does he belong to?”

Even the soldiers of the royal army were taken aback.

In other countries, people stopped fighting to watch the broadcast.

In this situation, what should I say?

After studying imperial politics, I’m glad I did.

Straightforward and strict…

I’ve never made a speech like this in my past life.

“Demon soldiers and soldiers of the Central Continent! My name is Zes. I am His Majesty Belzebut’s most trusted aide. Cease the war and listen to his words!”

Despite the quiet surroundings, Zes’s voice spread like a powerful attack magic, capturing the attention of everyone around.

Now it’s my turn.

“…I’m not sure where to start, but this war is being fought to reclaim the son of the Demon King, who was taken by the human race during the last war…”

My words stunned not only the humans but even the demons.

“What!? Reclaiming the prince?”

“The prince was taken by the humans!!”

The killing intent from the demons intensified.

“What? The Demon King’s son was kidnapped?”

“So, that’s why they declared war…”

The humans were bewildered by what was happening.

“But the objective has already been achieved. I am Arus Silva Belzebute, the son of the Demon King… I am here!! And after this, I will return to the Demon Kingdom with my father. Soldiers of the Belzebute Great Demon Kingdom, I, Crown Prince Arus Silva Belzebute, command you in the name of the prince. Withdraw your troops and return home!!!”

Silence fell over the surroundings.

“W-What? Your Highness!?”

“Is that… Your Highness?”

At that moment, I unleashed a new power, which I had gained after learning my true name.

A black aura spread out from my back with a loud roar.

It was undoubtedly the wings of a demon.

However, one wing was pure white, while the other was jet black.

And above all, they were of a majestic and imposing stature as they flapped.

With the emergence of these wings, Arus’s tremendous magical power spread throughout the area.

“Indeed, wings like His Majesty’s…”

“No doubt about it. Such immense power at that age… Truly, Your Highness!!”

The immense atmosphere immediately made the demons understand that he was the Demon King’s legitimate son.

“Did you hear that! You guys!!! It’s His Highness’s command! Let’s return home!!!”

“Ooooooooohhhhh!!!!”

The resounding cheers shook the earth, spreading even to other countries, marking the end of the war known as the Reclamation War.

“So this is… the Demon Kingdom.”

Afterward, with Zes, I returned to my father’s side, and we all traveled to the Demon Kingdom through a vast teleportation magic fueled by the Demon King’s immense power.

The Demon Kingdom was nothing like I imagined.

Instead of an atmosphere filled with tension and fear, there was a modern and prosperous cityscape, even more splendid than the capital of the human kingdom.

The demons are amazing!

And the Demon King’s castle… It was unbelievably massive.

It resembled a fortress as large as a towering mountain, with a colossal black castle standing atop its summit.

“Arus, that’s our home.”

Upon hearing my father’s voice, the Demon King’s, I couldn’t help but chuckle.

That’s home? No way…

“Wow… This is incredible.”

Even my father widened his eyes in amazement as he looked at the castle.

“The city is beautiful and prosperous, and the castle is so huge… It seems like we’ll have a better life here than before.”

Remarked my mother, seemingly carefree.

“Wowww!!! It’s huge!!!”

Exclaimed Mel, in awe.

Mel… Well, it can’t be helped.

Kaito and the others had eyes wide open in astonishment.

As we further traversed through teleportation magic and passed through the gates of the royal castle, we were greeted by a bustling crowd of demon soldiers… easily numbering over a few hundred.

These demon soldiers were lined up on both sides of the path.

At the end of the road, a few clearly formidable figures stood.

There was a vampire, a giant, a dark elf, a wolfman… I glanced at their statuses, and they had levels of combat prowess I had never seen before.

By the way, I couldn’t see the Demon King’s status.

He was obviously a high-ranking officer.

Among these four, the vampire used amplification magic to speak.

“Welcome back, Your Majesty… and Your Highness.”

Upon hearing those words, both the officers and the soldiers bowed their heads.

In the midst of it all, my father, the Demon King, strode forward confidently. Following suit, I, along with the others, trailed behind.

Approaching the officers, my father stopped.

“You’ve done well, all of you. However, Gazef… You acted quicker than instructed, didn’t you? There won’t be a next time.”

My father addressed the officers, then he fixed a stern gaze upon the giant, Gazef.

Just that alone spread a sense of impending doom throughout the area.

Father… When he’s angry, it’s dangerous.

“I-I apologize, Your Majesty. I will be more careful from now on…”

Gazef stammered out his apology.

“Well, I’m in a good mood today. I’ll let it slide for today. Oh, by the way, did you all see that? Look how much my son has grown!”

The Demon King pushed me forward in front of the officers.

“Your Highness… I apologize for not being able to assist you for so long.”

A vampire named Lloyd bowed his head.

“It’s okay!”

I wanted to reply, but then I realized… Oh, right, I’m royalty… and I felt a wave of unease wash over me.

I’m not used to this… definitely not used to this.

“No need to worry, Lloyd. I’ve had no particular hardships since I survived on my own as a child.”

I said casually.

“What!? When did you learn my name…?”

Oh, right, I saw it in his status.

Just… try to handle this gracefully… like an emperor would…

“Haha. What are you saying? I’m the Demon King’s son, you know? I can tell just by looking at someone’s background.”

It’s kind of… edgy, in a past life kind of way… ugh.

“As expected of Your Highness. You can discern things just by a glance…”

Thankfully, they bought it. Phew.

“Your Highness… to have such an aura at your age… truly befitting of the Demon King’s son…”

A beautiful dark elf woman approached me.

“Tana seems quite formidable as well. I’ve never seen a Dark Elf before, but her strength… must be the result of hard work.”

I remarked.

Is this how I should be speaking?

“Your insight is truly remarkable. Your discerning gaze… is splendid.”

She replied.

“And what about me, Your Highness?”

The giant leaned in, perhaps feeling left out after my assessment of the others’ strengths.

“Gazef… Your skills are the best among the four. However, are you not good at magic? I think you’d become even stronger if you learned it.”

“Do you… really know that much about me? …About magic. I’ll learn it.”

He seems a bit down…

“Your Highness… we’ve been eagerly awaiting your return.”

The werewolf said as he stepped forward.

“Thank you, Darif. Could you teach me dark magic next time?”

From what I saw in his status, Darif seemed adept at stealth and proficient in dark magic.

“…You really know that much about me. Yes, of course, I’d be happy to teach you.”

With that, we finished our conversation with the officers and finally entered the royal castle.

By the way, I was inevitably bombarded with questions from my mother about how I came to have the ability to see statuses later on.

If I were to write about today’s events as the last entry…

My room in the Demon King’s castle.

Even though I’m just the crown prince, it was unbelievably spacious and luxurious.

And the king-sized bed… Is this what they mean by king-sized?

It’s so soft… It’s amazing…
