Chapter 6:
Inappropriate music

“Since the female ghost continued to work after her death, why won’t I complain?” Jing Qizhen asked matter-of-factly.

The Earth: …I am speechless.

The female ghost was the manager of the department store during her lifetime. She was serious, responsible and meticulous in her work, and this trait of hers continued even after her death.

And this was obviously a point that can be exploited.

According to the cashier girl Guijuan, their manager was a good person with a cold face yet a soft heart. But when the manager turned into a female ghost, he knew from the way the ghost violently attacked the unlucky guy outside, that she was definitely a fierce ghost who could claim his life at any time. She cannot be treated with the inherent impression of the cashier girl.

Judging from the current situation, the female ghost’s combat power would be enough to crush the previous monster. If his complaint leads to the female ghost fighting the monster, it would make this place less dangerous. Wouldn’t that be an ideal situation?

Jing Qizhen felt that there was no way to reason with the resentful fierce ghost but he could make use of the obsession she had inherited from her lifetime, as long as he was careful not to misstep.

Things did develop as Jing Qizhen expected.

After hearing that Jing Qizhen threatened to file a complaint, the female ghost stared at him for a long time. Her white bloodshot eyeballs were almost squeezed out of their sockets. However, Jing Qizhen maintained the same expression as before. No change at all. Of course, he will never say anything else that might trigger a thunderstorm.

After a long while, the female ghost finally turned around slowly and moved her hoarse and cracked throat, “Okay, customer, where did the incident happen?”

Jing Qizhen said immediately, “It’s near the checkout counter just now.”

Soon, Jing Qizhen and the female ghost came out of the office one after another. He quickly gave everyone a look; proceed as planned!

The cashier girl was so frightened, her face bloodless, but she couldn’t feel relieved. She staggered and insisted on following him.

Yun Shuanghua became more and more curious about Jing Qizhen’s behavior when he saw the female ghost on the verge of madness was forcing herself to remain rational.

However, just as he was about to take a step forward, he was blocked by Manman, who was holding her boyfriend’s arm.

He and Jing Qizhen were not familiar with each other, so it seemed a little too purposeful to go around her. Yun Shuanghua hesitated for a moment but ultimately gave up.

Old Xiao was alert, and while wiping the cold sweat on his forehead, he mentioned something to Yun Shuanghua, “You should also turn on the Bluetooth on your phone. And just like Xiao Jing and Manman just now, if you can’t talk in difficult situations, you can change the Bluetooth name of the device.”

Yun Shuanghua quickly found an excuse, “My phone is gone.”

Old Xiao understood immediately and said ‘Oh’ in sympathy, “You must have lost it when you were chased by the female ghost before!”

Yun Shuanghua showed a helpless smile, “Yeah.”

Seeing Jing Qizhen, the female ghost, and the cashier girl walking farther and farther along the corridor and their footsteps quickly going down the stairs, the remaining group of people looked at each other and took action immediately.

Manman and her boyfriend swiftly separated. Before the two of them even entered the office, they had already turned on the cameras on their mobile phones and were ready.

The office’s door was ajar and the old lady directly used the candied hawthorn sticks to slowly push the door open, avoiding the blood-stained area on the door panel.

In an instant, the office that Jing Qizhen described as a murder scene covered in blood came into view.

Manman held her mobile phone and zoomed in and out to take pictures from all angles, even the ceiling.

Although the boyfriend did not have Manman’s acumen in this area, he at least knew that the task would be completed by recording everything clearly. The specific clues could be studied together when everyone takes a closer look.

Both Gold Chain Brother and the foreigner have rich fighting experiences. Although they were not good at forensic autopsy, the two of them discussed with each other and based on the traces of blood splattered in the office, they roughly pieced together the story behind the case.

“The female ghost must have had a conflict with someone on the sofa. Then, she was pushed and hit the coffee table, knocking it aside,” the foreigner said while personally demonstrating the pushing motion.

Manman, who was taking pictures, didn’t even look back, and said with quick clicks, “They were sitting together on the sofa and then suddenly a conflict broke out? We can assume it was an acquaintance who committed the crime.”

Her boyfriend followed, “How scary!”

Manman: …

Brother Gold Chain responded, “There is no obvious blood stain here on the sofa but there is a large amount of blood on the floor between the coffee table and the bookshelf. She was probably injured when she hit the coffee table.”

The foreigner deliberately stumbled to demonstrate, and then stood up straight in an instant. His eyes fell on the shifted coffee table, “Fruit knife? Or a broken ashtray?”

Gold Chain Brother said, “You can ask Guijuan this question later.”

The grandma said, “The blood stains on the floor, bookshelf, and coffee table seem to be older than the ones outside. Judging from the amount of blood stains, the situation at that time was probably very critical. However, there were stains on the floor leading to the door outside the office but only the bloody fingerprints of the female ghost’s daily life were left there.”

The foreigner, who had seen too many European and American movies on plasma tablets, understood the fastest and said directly, “I know! The female ghost fell to the ground after losing a lot of blood during her last moment and couldn’t get out of the office!”

Yun Shuanghua realized that he was somewhat out of place among them and did not take the initiative to move forward, but he watched their actions with curiosity. Just like Jing Qizhen, this group of people seemed to be completely beyond his expectations.

On the other side, Jing Qizhen walked to the supermarket with the female ghost and the cashier girl.

It’s hard to say how sturdy a supermarket shopping cart was, but with the help of a roll of packing tape from the cashier girl, the humanoid monster was trapped between the upturned cart and the checkout counter. There was no possibility of escape.

Contrary to Jing Qizhen’s expectation, before they even got close, the trapped monster seemed to be aware of their approach, shaking and letting out an extremely frightened scream. It struggled harder and harder, even using its teeth and nails to scratch the cart, leaving bruises and blood all over its body.

Similarly, the female ghost who was brought here by Jing Qizhen to complain also fell into a state of madness the moment she saw the monster.

She rushed directly towards the checkout counter, trying to attack the monster trapped underneath the supermarket shopping cart.

However, the shopping cart Jing Qizhen threw and the packing tape roll the cashier girl taped were too secure. In desperation, the female ghost started tearing the packing tape apart with her hands.

Jing Qizhen: …

The cashier girl: …

Earth commented, “This female ghost is so excited! She is so dedicated to her job.”

The strong packing tape was actually torn open bit by bit by the female ghost, leaving bloody handprints printed all over it.

As for the monster trapped inside, its screams became more and more frightening and crazy. It tried to huddle its body into the corner. However, there was only a little space in the supermarket shopping cart and the female ghost was getting closer and closer, there was no room for maneuver at all.

Jing Qizhen hesitated and said, “I don’t think it’s because of my complaint… right?”

It seemed like this female ghost hated that monster.

Earth: =v=? “Hey, how will I know?”

Seeing the female ghost ignoring anyone but the monster, the cashier girl was frightened again and shook her head vigorously, saying she didn’t know.
Out of caution, Jing Qizhen pulled the cashier girl and they took two decisive steps back.

Thinking of Manman’s actions before, Jing Qizhen simply turned on his mobile phone camera. Although he can’t see anything now, maybe others will find something out after watching the video.

The female ghost’s combat power was indeed off the charts. In just a short time, more and more packing tapes were covered with dripping blood. The middle part was already torn apart by the female ghost.

The cashier girl, who was almost attacked by the monster before, obviously still remembers the fear of being face to face with the monster’s grotesque face at close range, and said in a trembling voice: “It– it’s getting out…”

Jing Qizhen looked at the menacing female ghost and the shivering and screaming monster. He pondered it a little and said to his companions in a soothing tone, “It’s okay, I believe in your boss.”

The cashier girl who was crying without tears: …

Finally, the female ghost tore the packing tape tying up the supermarket shopping cart in pieces.

The monster pressed inside let out a panicked scream from its throat, slammed the shopping cart away and tried to escape.

However, the female ghost’s reaction was much faster.

At the moment when the supermarket shopping cart was overturned and smashed into the checkout counter next aisle, the monster only had time to jump out before the female ghost grabbed its arm and slammed it onto the ground.

With an extremely shrill scream, Jing Qizhen saw that the monster’s slender upper limb akin to a spider had been weirdly twisted. Based on the angles, it was broken in at least three places.

The cashier girl was protected behind by Jing Qizhen. Although she avoided the bloodiest scene of the battle, out of the corner of her eye, she could still catch a glimpse of large amounts of blood and a small amount of the torn monster limbs.

Jing Qizhen’s pupils also tightened unconsciously.

The monster’s shrill screams became lower and lower until the monster’s body was finally torn apart piece by piece by the female ghost, leaving only a pool of blood on the ground with messy and broken limbs and flesh.

In the suffocating and nauseating strong smell of blood, everything finally ended in deathly silence.

The female ghost whose face was covered with fresh blood and looked like a murderous maniac finally turned around. A stiff and weird smile appeared on her usually stern face, “Dear guest, your complaint has been dealt with. This monster will no longer attack customers.”

The cashier girl almost fainted when she saw this scene, cold sweat dripping from her forehead, and her nails dug into her palms, using the pain to restrain herself to avoid screaming in fear.

Jing Qizhen keenly noticed the words the female ghost used– ‘this monster’?

Does the female ghost mean that there are many similar monsters in this supermarket or does she mean that she knew clearly the number of monsters and even the situation of each of them?

However, this time, the female ghost did not pay attention to the supermarket customers and employees in her eyes.

It seemed that as the monster was torn to pieces, the female ghost gained some satisfaction and returned to her office on the second floor.

Jing Qizhen looked at the leaving female ghost and was suddenly startled. He hurriedly took out his mobile phone and used Bluetooth to send a random file to Manman as a reminder. At the same time, he instantly changed the name of the device and said, [The female ghost is back!!! By Xiao Jing]

At the same time, in the dilapidated, old and dusty supermarket, a burst of extremely inappropriate, soothing and light music suddenly sounded.

The cashier girl was surprised, “It’s the music that plays when the supermarket is about to close!”
