Shen Xi had been single for nineteen years, since he was born. After getting his first taste of love, he instantly became addicted to it, and grew far more clingy than he’d ever been.

The moment Ah Luo found out that the young man had come all the way to the set alone just to find her, she had a feeling that her life was about to get a lot less peaceful.

Sure enough, it was just as she’d expected. Shen Xi was a very straightforward and open person. Since he had already acknowledged their relationship, he saw no reason to hide it any longer.

He had the vigour and vitality of youth—and at the same time, the fearlessness and sharpness unique to someone his age.

Shen Xi’s arrival stirred up considerable interest among the crew. Ever since ‘We’re Living Together!’ had aired, the two of them had grown very popular. Their couple pairing gained a huge fanbase. Anyone who spent any time online would have heard of them—and that was doubly true on set.

On the first day of filming, people saw the young man sticking close to Ah Luo. The two of them chatted affectionately from time to time and received countless curious glances in their way.

Ah Luo had already overheard quite a few hushed discussions behind her back. People were speculating on the nature of their relationship. Even her assistant, Xiaolin, couldn’t hide the curiosity written all over her face.

The director, however, was aware that Shen Xi had come to act. He had some acquaintance with Shen Yu, and they had been struggling to cast the role of Nan Zhi, the fourth male lead. A few days ago, he’d come across Shen Xi by chance on the variety show and felt his temperament suited the role well, so he reached out to invite him for the role.

He just hadn’t expected Shen Xi to arrive so soon—or without saying a word in advance.

The director stepped forward to explain the situation to the crew and introduced Shen Xi as the actor playing Nan Zhi, the fourth male lead.

Upon hearing this, the crew looked enlightened. However, the curiosity in their eyes hadn’t gone away in the slightest.

‘We’re Living Together!’ had made Shen Xi and Xin Luo an overnight sensation. Fans online were crying out that they were witnessing a ‘divine love story.’ Most viewers watching the show were left wondering if Xin Luo and Shen Xi were actually a real couple?

Shen Xi wasn’t a professional actor, and he was young, inexperienced in hiding his feelings—one could clearly tell he’d probably fallen for real. But what about Xin Luo?

It wasn’t just netizens who were puzzled. People in the entertainment industry couldn’t contain their curiosity, either.

Xin Luo was a ‘national goddess,’ the face of the entertainment industry, and the newly crowned Best Actress. Each of these glittering titles made every move she made a topic of public interest.

If it turned out that Xin Luo was in a relationship, it would blow a hole straight through the industry!

Naturally, Ah Luo was aware of the attention on her. She glanced at the young man trailing behind her like a little tail and couldn’t help but press a hand to her forehead.

“Lele, you don’t have any scenes today. You can go back and rest.”

The smile vanished from the young man’s face instantly. His puppy-dog eyes drooped as he said pitifully, “I just want to stay here with you, Sister. Don’t you want me to keep you company?”

Seeing that expression, Ah Luo’s heart instantly softened beyond her control. She gave in with a sigh. “Fine. You can stay—but don’t mess around!”

That morning, when they left the hotel together, the young man had taken advantage of a quiet moment in the hallway to kiss her, and they’d nearly gotten caught in the act.

Though she could understand the young man’s passion—after all, it was his first love—passion still needed to be appropriate to the occasion. He didn’t care about what other people thought, but Ah Luo couldn’t afford to be so carefree. If word of their relationship got out now, it would be absolutely detrimental for her.

The little puppy’s enthusiasm was hard to resist, but fortunately, he was also very obedient. Under Ah Luo’s strict instructions, Shen Xi did rein himself in significantly. While she filmed, he simply sat off to the side and watched. He never did anything that could lead to misunderstandings.

Others still came over to chat with him. Shen Xi always greeted them with a smile, though he wasn’t quite as mild-tempered as he appeared on the surface.

If someone introduced themselves as a fan and asked for his autograph, he would sign it. However, if anyone asked about his relationship with Xin Luo, he usually gave them a cheeky smile and replied, “No comment”—his tone was always cocky, but his grin was so charming that no one could really get mad.

Still, not everyone was so easily brushed off. In this fame-hungry industry, some people would stop at nothing to climb the ladder.

Right now, a girl was pestering Shen Xi. She introduced herself as one of his fans. She played a background character on the show—just an extra, really, not an important role at all. Her part didn’t even compare to Shen Xi’s fourth male lead.

“Lingshen, can’t believe I’ve run into you here—what incredible luck. Lingshen, can we take a photo together? I want to show off to my friends.”

Shen Xi handed her the autograph. When he saw the girl eagerly pulling out her phone, he frowned and said, “This is a filming set. You’re not supposed to take photos here, right?”

On-set leaks for films and dramas that hadn’t aired yet were usually strictly forbidden. The girl seemed to have been reminded by his words and apologetically said, “I totally forgot… then, Lingshen, can I at least add you as a friend in the game?”

Shen Xi looked up at her, then said bluntly, “You’ve been working on set this long and still don’t know you can’t take photos? Also, I don’t play mobile games—sorry.”

Ah Luo had just wrapped up a scene and was walking over when she heard that. She could even see the girl’s face turn pale and then red.

Faced with such an unrelenting comment from the young man, even the thickest skin probably wouldn’t hold up. The girl quickly left. One could only wonder if she’d end up unfollowing him because of this.

Ah Luo couldn’t help but laugh softly.

The young man looked over at the sound. The frown on his face immediately vanished. His puppy-dog eyes curved downwards instinctively, and he gave a sweet, sunny smile—the way he changed expressions on a dime was nothing short of astonishing.

“Sister!”

Ah Luo was still in costume. She was playing the female lead, Liu Su, who was a celestial maiden. Her wardrobe, props, and styling were all exceptionally ethereal, and the long flowing white silk dress made her look dreamlike and otherworldly.

The young man’s eyes sparkled with amazement. He’d seen her outfit earlier while she was filming, but since he’d been far away and the area was crowded, he hadn’t really gotten a good look. Now, with her standing right in front of him, his heart felt like it was pounding faster and faster—until it was almost ready to leap out of his throat.

The young man’s joy was so obvious that Ah Luo couldn’t help feeling a little guilty.

He’d said he came to keep her company, but in truth, he could only watch her from a distance, and she barely had a chance to speak with him during filming.

She finally had some time for a break now, but only because lunchtime was approaching. After lunch, they’d have to resume shooting for the afternoon.

“Come on, let’s go to the dressing room.”

As the female lead, Ah Luo had her own dressing room. It wasn’t large—only about ten square metres. It had a small two-seater sofa besides the makeup station.

Previously, Ah Luo had told Shen Xi to wait for her in the dressing room. However, he insisted that if he went in, he wouldn’t be able to see her. He wanted to wait outside, which led to people coming up to strike up conversation with him now and then.

They saw he was young and figured he was easy to talk to. Not to mention, it seemed like he had a close relationship with Ah Luo, so they kept coming over—unaware that the sweet puppy in front of his girlfriend could be anything but when dealing with others.

As soon as they stepped inside, an arm reached out from behind and wrapped around Ah Luo’s waist, lifting her up and pressing her against the door.

Shen Xi’s eyes were glowing as he leaned in close. “Sister, you look so pretty today.”

He was tall and lanky. His long legs braced against her. He had delicate features and a clean, handsome face. After his clear eyes locked onto hers, his gaze dropped straight to her lips. Every part of his expression was brimming with anticipation.

Ah Luo couldn’t move. She was trapped between him and the door, all she could see was his Adam’s apple shifting slightly. She had previously doubted how someone so soft and puppy-like could possibly be 1.85 metres tall, but now, she had absolutely no doubts left.

The heady scent of hormones radiated off him in waves. He smelled fresh, like clean laundry mixed with sunlight, and it made Ah Luo’s cheeks flush uncontrollably.

She tilted her face up to look at him, while trying to suppress the heat in her cheeks. Calmly, she said, “Stop messing around. Xiaolin will be back any minute.”

“No—your boyfriend wants a kiss.”

The young man was far too close. His breath fanned across her face as he spoke, and it felt hot and ticklish. Ah Luo instinctively leaned her head back. Her lips suddenly felt dry, and she licked them without thinking.

The next second, the young man’s breath hitched. He turned his head abruptly and pressed his face to hers. His high-bridged nose brushed against her cheek as he bit down on her lips.

He used a bit of force. It didn’t feel like a kiss—it was more like a beast pouncing on its prey, fierce and full of heat. Ah Luo’s lips and tongue went numb from the entanglement. It went on and on, until she was gasping for air. She feebly pounded his shoulder a few times before he finally let go.

“You…” she was panting as she spoke, and her voice was broken up as well. “You’ve messed up my makeup!”

Shen Xi was still grinning. His rosy lips curled up and his eyes crinkled with delight. “Sister, your lipstick tastes like orange today. It tastes much better than the chocolate one yesterday.”

“…You little wolf pup.”

That was right. She finally saw him clearly. That sweet little puppy exterior? That was a total disguise. Underneath it all, the boy was a little wolf who could devour someone else without even leaving the bones behind.

Shen Xi kept his arm firmly around her waist and said, confidently, “Even if I’m a little wolf pup, I’m only Sister’s little wolf pup.”

Ah Luo blushed and pushed him away. Only now did she realise how their roles had flipped. When they were filming ‘We’re Living Together!’, this young man had been acting bashful and pure. He blushed at the slightest teasing. However, now it was her who kept getting flustered and hot-faced because of his teasing.

Thinking of this made her feel scammed. She felt like she’d spent money on something only to find it completely not as advertised.

The two of them had barely been snuggled together for a few minutes when Ah Luo’s assistant, Xiaolin, came in carrying boxed lunches. She stared at Ah Luo for a long moment, with eyes that were full of odd suspicion.

When Ah Luo finally asked why she was looking at her like that, she cautiously asked, “Sister Luo… did you eat something just now?”

Ah Luo froze. She didn’t catch on right away—until the young man next to her suddenly burst out laughing.

Realisation dawned on her instantly. Furious and flustered, she snapped, “You’re not allowed in my room tonight!”

Shen Xi let out a wail. “No! Sister, I was wrong!”

But no matter how pitifully the boy apologised, Ah Luo remained unmoved. She’d seen right through him now, and she wasn’t going to fall for the cutesy act again.

She didn’t want their relationship exposed too early. The set was full of people who’d gossip. After that midday stunt, when the makeup artist touched her up later, they asked questions in a probing tone. It took her a lot of effort to smooth things over. If she kept letting him run wild, they were bound to be found out sooner or later.

Once filming wrapped for the day and they’d had dinner, Ah Luo resolutely shut the door to her room in the face of his pitiful puppy-dog expression.

She took a shower to wash away the day’s exhaustion. When she picked up her phone, she saw that the WeChat account labelled ‘Little One’ had sent a barrage of messages—apologies, cutesy talk, and pitiful pleas.

Ah Luo scrolled through them at her leisure and replied with a single message, [Will you behave from now on?]

Little One: [I’ll behave! If you say east, I won’t go west. Sister’s words outrank all commands!]

Right after that came another message. [So, Sister, can I have a kiss again tomorrow?]

Ah Luo: […Go reflect more on your actions.]

With that, she exited WeChat and launched a mobile game, The Hero Returns.
