[If Shen Xi had a big garden and a gardener at home when he was a kid—so, more than ten years ago—then his family must’ve been well off back then.]

[I just remembered—didn’t Shen Xi tell Xin Luo the day before that his family was poor? Xin Luo just gave a little ‘heh’ at the time and got scolded by a bunch of people for being snobbish. What if she actually knew about his family and thought he was lying, and that’s why she reacted like that?]

On screen, Ah Luo voiced the very same question the netizens had.

“You said your family was poor. So how come you’ve got a garden?”

The young man froze for a second, scratched his head, and gave an embarrassed grin. “Well, you know… it’s important to stay humble…”

Ah Luo: ‘…’

[Oh wow, _that’s_ what he calls humble? Now I finally get why people like to pretend they’re poor. It’s for this exact kind of smug reveal and face-slap moment…]

[No wonder Lingshen always says not to send him gifts because he’s not short on money. I used to think he was just pretending to be tough, so I kept sending even more… Turns out he was actually telling the truth!]

[Same here, sisters. I suddenly feel so sorry for myself. I could’ve bought more bubble teas with that money—ugh!]

Shen Xi had been telling the truth about knowing how to mow. He handled the lawnmower like a pro. It took him half an hour to trim down a large stretch of lawn, but he got it done.

This kind of mechanical labour wasn’t exactly riveting content, but surprisingly, the viewers in the livestream didn’t leave. They kept watching the two work while chatting away.

[This guy has such a youthful vibe—I feel like I’ve stepped back into my teenage years. Under this bright sunlight, that fair and slender figure is such a rare and beautiful sight.]

[Watching them slowly mow the lawn like this is oddly soothing. I feel like I’m watching a documentary or something.]

[I have to say, Xin Luo has really impressed me. What actress would willingly do this kind of work? But she didn’t complain at all. She’s not showing a trace of diva attitude. Totally not what I expected!]

Pruning the hedges wasn’t easy either. The shears were heavy, and Ah Luo had to rest every now and then. After all that time, she had only managed to get through a small section, while Shen Xi had already mowed more than half the lawn.

Seeing her standing there, supporting her back, Shen Xi suddenly put down the lawnmower and strode towards her.

“Sister, want me to show you how to mow the lawn?”

He reached out and gently took her by the arm, then led her over to the lawnmower. He genuinely started teaching her how to use it.

At first, Ah Luo was a little confused, but after a while, she realised he must’ve seen how tired she was and wanted to swap jobs with her.

The lawnmower wasn’t too hard to use. She picked it up pretty quickly, and sure enough, Shen Xi handed over the mowing to her and went off to prune the hedges instead.

The strong young man snipped away at the hedges with ease. Another half hour passed, and he had nearly finished the trimming. The lawn only had a small patch left, and by then, the sun was directly overhead.

Ah Luo was soaked with sweat, so hot she couldn’t even speak. She went inside to grab a bottle of cold mineral water, came back out, and called out to Shen Xi with the bottle in her hand.

“Hmm?” The young man turned at the sound of her voice. His pale face was flushed with a healthy red, and sweat trickled down from his forehead.

Ah Luo waved him over and lifted the bottle. “Water.”

Shen Xi walked over, looked at the bottle, but didn’t take it. Instead, he opened his mouth and said, “Feed me, Sister~”

Ah Luo shot him a glance and was about to speak when he suddenly took the bottle from her hand. His long fingers curled around it and quickly twisted off the cap.

Then he placed the now-open bottle back into her hand and said with a cheeky smile, “I saw online that a proper boyfriend never lets his girlfriend open a water bottle by herself.”

Ah Luo was thrown off by his sudden move and couldn’t help but chuckle. She had meant to say no, but now she didn’t have the heart to refuse.

“Bend down. I’ll pour it for you,” she said.

Shen Xi followed her instruction. He placed his hands on his knees and bent forward, lifting his chin and parting his soft lips. He looked exactly like a baby bird chirping and waiting to be fed.

But that face of his was strikingly handsome—skin pale to the point of glowing, features sharp and delicate. Sweat dampened the roots of his hair and glistened in the sunlight.

Ah Luo held the bottle above him and gently tipped it.

She wasn’t sure how much to pour, so she only let a little trickle out before stopping. The young man swallowed and smacked his lips. “Too little. More, Sister.”

This time, Ah Luo poured a little more. He took a big gulp. His Adam’s apple bobbed visibly as he took a soft gulp.

“That’s so refreshing.” He let out a long sigh of relief. His face was full of satisfaction.

Ah Luo laughed and asked, “Want more?”

Shen Xi nodded eagerly. “One more sip, one more sip!”

She poured him another generous mouthful. This time she overdid it a bit, and water spilled from the corner of his lips. It trickled down from his chin to his neck, slid over his prominent collarbones, and finally disappeared into his shirt.

The young man licked his lips. He was clearly not done. His light pink lips glistened with water like flower petals kissed by dew.

“That was so good. How come I never realised mineral water could taste this amazing?”

He gazed up at her. His dark eyes sparkled, as if they were inviting her to come closer.

Ah Luo paused. She was caught off guard. When she came back to her senses, her cheeks were already burning. Luckily, she was already flushed from the sun, so it wasn’t too obvious.

There was still half a bottle left. She brought it to her own lips and took two sips. When she stopped, she noticed the young man still staring straight at her.

“Sister, I want more,” he said softly, in a spoiled tone.

Ah Luo shook her head. “I’ve already had some.”

Unexpectedly, the young man suddenly reached out and snatched the bottle away before she could react. He took a quick gulp, then grinned like a little mouse who’d stolen oil.

“Sister, you drink.” After the ambush, he turned back into an obedient little puppy and returned the bottle to her.

Ah Luo lowered her eyes to glance at the bottle, then at the young man. She raised an eyebrow and asked, “You don’t want any more?”

Shen Xi shook his head like a rattle-drum. He looked absurdly well-behaved. “I’ve had enough, really. You go ahead.”

Ah Luo curved her lips in a smile and asked slowly, “Lele, do you know what this is called? It’s called an indirect kiss.”

The young man’s ears flushed red as he kept sneaking glances at her expression.

The woman’s eyes were curved in amusement. She didn’t look angry at all. She reached out and pinched his chin, her rosy lips parting slightly as she spoke slowly, “Today, Sister will show you what a real kiss is like.”

As the words fell from her lips, so did her stunning face. She leaned in with lips soft like jelly. She gently pressed against him. Her peach blossom eyes brimmed with teasing amusement. Her breath carried a pleasant, faint fragrance.

The young man’s eyes suddenly widened and he stood there, as stiff as a stone statue.

The flush that began at his ears rapidly spread across his entire face, and even stained his neck with a pale blush.

On screen, the breathtakingly beautiful woman was kissing the fair and handsome young man. The young man remained slightly bent, and the woman leaned down just a little. Their eyes were locked, and their breaths entwined.

All around them were the lush greenery of the garden; above them was a brilliant blue sky. The sun shone bright, and the breeze was gentle. In the centre of the frame stood this pair of remarkably attractive people. The entire scene seemed dreamlike and surreal, like a gorgeous still from a paused moment in time.

Inside the livestream room, the netizens exploded.

[Aaaaaaaaah I’m done for aaaaaaaah]

[Holy shit she’s too good at this!!! Sister, teach me tooooooo!!! I’ve never kissed anyone either!!!]

[Tears of envy are falling from the corners of my mouth. When will I meet a goddess like this? No, not a goddess—she’s a seductive spirit! She’s too good at flirting! My heart can’t take it! All the lights for Goddess Xin!!]

[I’m dead, they’re too beautiful, too flirty, I’m obsessed with this couple! Please get married right now, I’m begging you!!!]

Ah Luo didn’t linger too long out of fear of overwhelming the young one. She only leaned in briefly before pulling back like it was no big deal.

The young man’s expression was blank. HIs whole face was tomato-red, and those puppy eyes looked even wetter than before—like he’d just been bullied by her.

Ah Luo chuckled softly. She didn’t call out to him. She just turned and walked away.

It took a while before the young man finally came back to his senses. He stole a few glances at Ah Luo, but by that time, she had already returned to mowing and wasn’t paying him the slightest attention. She completely ignored the shy, hesitant look in his eyes.

For the rest of the afternoon, Shen Xi’s productivity plummeted. He was utterly distracted, and while Ah Luo had already finished trimming the lawn, he still hadn’t finished pruning the shrubs.

Seeing that it was getting late and the sun was fully up, Ah Luo called for him to take a break.

The young man followed a few steps behind her. The once lively teenager suddenly mute as a gourd. He was completely silent.

When Ah Luo started cooking, though, he was surprisingly attentive. He washed vegetables when told to and scrubbed the pot without complaint. He worked hard and dutifully, although the blush on the tips of his ears still hadn’t faded.

They ate lunch alone, since the others were still out.

Afterward, they had to continue cleaning the garden. The lawn was done—smooth and green—but there were still a few bushes left to prune. Then there was the rose bed, which was much simpler. They just had to trim stray branches and pull out weeds.

Ah Luo handled the rose pruning, while Shen Xi volunteered to go into the bed to weed. The rose vines had thorns, so when he came out, his arms were covered in fine red scratches.

Ah Luo held the freshly pruned roses in her arms. Their faint scent drifted through the air. The young man stood in front of her, and perhaps because he’d just come out of the rose bushes, he was also cloaked in their sweet fragrance.

His lips were lifted in a grin, with a tiny tiger tooth showing—he was adorable beyond words. The shyness had finally faded from his face, and he was back to his energetic self.

“Sister, we’re done with the work! What should we do next?”

It was still early, just around four in the afternoon. They had plenty of daylight left.

Ah Luo thought for a moment. “How about a nap? We worked hard mowing that lawn. It should be really comfy to lie down on.”

The young man’s eyes lit up. He was clearly thrilled. “You think so too? When I was little, I used to sneak naps in the garden all the time. My family could never find me.”

They went to a shady spot and lay down on the soft green grass, chatting as they looked up at the cloudless blue sky. Without realising it, they both drifted off to sleep.

[I don’t know why, but watching them fall asleep like this—even though nothing’s really happening—I just can’t look away.]

[The more I watch, the more real Shen Xi and Xin Luo feel. It’s that effortless comfort between them. They really seem like a true couple.]

[Same here. You can totally tell Shen Xi likes Xin Luo. He’s young and doesn’t know how to hide it. As for Xin Luo, I really can’t tell… is she just doing it for the views? Or just teasing him for fun? I really hope she’s not just playing around. Otherwise, Shen Xi’s going to get hurt bad.]
