I Fed The Affectionate And Paranoid God - Chapter 9
Xia Chenxi opened the door first and rushed out, holding a weapon.
The other two also followed closely behind and ran out.
In the corridor, there stood a tall and slender shadow.
Bending its legs at a 90-degree angle, it squatted there like a spider, its long arms braced against the corridor walls on both sides, almost completely blocking the road behind it.
It stared straight at Xia Chenxi and the others, with a huge smile slowly rising on its face. Its fine teeth reflected a strange, cold light, and it began to excitedly make a hissing sound.
Xia Chenxi couldn’t help but shudder. He suppressed his fear and whispered to the two people who were completely frozen from fear, “Hurry up and call them over.”
The two suddenly regained their senses and quickly followed suit, shouting in a trembling voice for everyone to come out, indicating that the monster was in the hallway. Everyone had to find a way to fight against the monster; otherwise, when the monster killed most of the people, the rest would undoubtedly die.
As soon as they finished speaking, the door to the nearest room suddenly opened, and three residents ran out one after another, one of whom was the person who had previously proposed to fight the monster.
A resident tightly held the iron rod with a dagger tied on top, staring intently at the monster that could cause extreme oppression just by standing there. He suddenly rushed out and shouted, “I’ll fight you!”
The other rooms also opened their doors.
Most residents weren’t stupid, and they all realized that this strange monster was going on a rampage.
Quickly, nearly a dozen or so residents ran out.
In a certain apartment, the man in a white shirt intentionally fell behind by one step.
When everyone’s attention was focused on the monster, he quietly stepped back and finally disappeared at the corner of the stairs.
He also knew very well that, if he didn’t resist, he would die.
But what he knew better was that everyone may not be able to harm that monster, but rather it may cause the monster to go crazy and kill everyone directly.
He didn’t want to die so soon.
There was still one place that should be safe now.
Quickly, he ran to the first floor and finally managed to hide in the miscellaneous room, which was very remote and could even be ignored if not carefully observed.
The narrow space made it a bit difficult to breathe, and his hands and feet were even more affected by forceful squeezing, causing his skin to break and bleed.
The pain made him grit his teeth, but he had to endure it. Without saying a word, he closed the rusty iron door without revealing any cracks.
In the darkness, he could see nothing, and he only heard his rapid breathing echoing in the debris room.
The man in the white shirt took a deep breath to calm himself down and think.
If he hid here now, there was a certain probability that the monster wouldn’t be able to find him.
As long as the black fog disappeared, he would be saved.
But for some reason, the white-shirted man thought of the residents on the fourth floor who were standing in front of him, and a hint of guilt inexplicably surged in his heart.
Immediately after, the white-shirted man struggled, his expression eventually turning into madness and determination.
He just wanted to live; he wasn’t wrong.
Xia Chenxi and several residents stared closely at the monster and didn’t launch an attack rashly.
The monster stood still, with a growing smirk on its face, carrying an undisguised malice.
The corridor was silent.
The atmosphere gradually became anxious and uneasy.
One of the residents could no longer suppress his fear and rushed over first, thrusting his weapon towards the monster’s chest.
The monster turned around to avoid the attack and climbed up to the top of the hallway wall like a spider.
The entire process took less than a second, and then it hung upside down, picked up the resident with its long arm, and skillfully wrapped him around with its other hand, pulling him tightly.
All of this happened too quickly.
Everyone was stunned for a moment before rushing forward to save the person.
But then, everyone stopped in their tracks, inexplicitly shocked as they watched the chain on the resident tighten to the extreme, his whole body exploded like fireworks, limbs and flesh splattering in the hallway.
The clean white floors and walls were covered with ink paintings made from boiling blood, carrying a dazzling and shocking impact.
Everyone watched this scene in extreme fear, even forgetting to resist.
This scene was so shocking that a resident with a low psychological defense line suddenly screamed in fear, unable to resist at all. He threw down his weapon and ran to the stairs, quickly disappearing.
After the first person ran away, the others immediately had the idea of wanting to escape.
This monster’s strength was really too strong, so many people could only be killed.
This terrifying monster wasn’t something they could counterattack.
Xia Chenxi noticed this and pursed his lips without speaking. At this point, there was actually no need to fight back.
The strength of this monster had far exceeded everyone’s imagination.
But Xia Chenxi was unwilling.
At this moment, the first resident to recover suddenly shouted to everyone, “We can’t run! Once we run, all of us will really die. We have to fight against it!”
Others were even more shaken by the words. In the moment of inner struggle, the strange monster stared at Xia Chenxi; agile and fast, it crawled forward, and the chain automatically rushed at him out of thin air.
The first few residents hurriedly ran over to help.
This time, they wouldn’t watch another person die like last time.
But their speed was still too slow. It once again picked up Xia Chenxi with its hand, and the chain quickly wrapped around him. Throughout the process, Xia Chenxi had no chance to react.
He felt intense pain as the monster tightened its grip on the chain.
Xia Chenxi seemed to feel the sickle of death hanging on his neck, and the pain became increasingly intense. The chain penetrated deep into his bones and flesh.
Even at this time, Xia Chenxi still didn’t give up and struggled to raise his hand, wanting to attack the monster.
But facing such a terrifying and powerful monster, he had almost no ability to counterattack.
The monster showed an expanding smile and pulled the chain fiercely.
At the moment of death, Xia Chenxi suddenly felt as if something had been activated in his body, and a message inexplicably appeared in his mind.
[Infinite Strength, Level 1]: When you encounter a dangerous attack or use of equipment, this title will immediately activate its effect, with a usage time of ten minutes.
The pain was still there.
Xia Chenxi’s eyes widened slightly as he sensed an inexplicable warmth in his body. As if he were truly endowed with infinite power.
He didn’t know if it was an illusion that appeared on the brink of death or if it really existed. He tried to lift his imprisoned hand and then used all his strength to chop toward the monster’s arm.
“Dang-”
His weapon and the monster’s arm made a sound like weapons colliding, and the monster let out a mournful scream before releasing Xia Chenxi.
Xia Chenxi rolled to the ground, let out a muffled grunt, and quickly got up. Ignoring the pain and shock in his heart, he focused on using his weapon to charge up again.
If the information in his mind was true, then he only had ten minutes to deal with this strange monster.
The residents who had originally run over were shocked and puzzled when they saw this scene.
Everyone knew how terrifying the monster’s power was, and the young man shouldn’t have been able to resist it.
Everyone even thought that Xia Chenxi would be turned into a dismembered corpse, but no matter what, they never expected that the other party would break free from the monster and even harm it.
Everyone realized this, and an infinite hope surged in their hearts, with flames burning in their eyes.
They could cooperate with Xia Chenxi to deal a heavy blow to this monster and let everyone survive!
