After listening to what the person said, Xia Chenxi walked over to the apartment, and his gaze fell on the hole in the iron door. He roughly understood how that person opened the door that should have been locked.

A person’s arm was long enough to feel the lock in the door.

However, ordinary people certainly dared not reach in to open the door. Xia Chenxi glanced at everyone there, and there was a fear of the unknown on their faces, but at least they were still trying to stay calm. The same went for Xia Chenxi.

He was also afraid and uncomfortable, especially when he learned that the mobile game couldn’t provide him with a self-protection ability, which greatly expanded his anxiety.

At the same time, there was also an inexplicable excitement about death that filled his heart, causing his brain to be particularly active.

Xia Chenxi took a deep breath.

Perhaps due to his frequent playing of horror games, whether it was decryption or exploring escape games, he could find the fastest way to pass levels and control the characters to survive.

But unlike games, in reality, he couldn’t read files again to avoid mistakes and crises.

Xia Chenxi cautiously stepped into the room and looked around.

On the floor, blood gathered around the fragments of the corpse, which was even more shocking than the most terrifying scenes in a game.

Xia Chenxi took the initiative to approach the body. Although mentally prepared, he still couldn’t help feeling nauseous when he saw the bloody parts and the strong smell of blood rushing towards him.

For the next month, he had no plans to eat anything meat-related or even look at it.

Xia Chenxi suppressed the uncomfortable feeling and squatted down to carefully observe the edge marks of the fragmented corpse.

Sure enough. This corpse, like the dismembered one in the hallway, was twisted into several pieces by steel ropes and other things.

He remembered the chains wrapped around that strange person.

Xia Chenxi could basically confirm that the monster was the real culprit who killed the body in the hallway. In a short period of time, it killed someone again.

Obviously.

All the residents on this floor may become the next ones to be killed.

Not only did Xia Chenxi think of this, but the few people standing there also realized it.

Therefore, they had to take risks and endure fear to come out and confirm whether the attacked resident was still alive.

Obviously, this building was no longer safe.

Without being able to reach the outside world for help, they had only two options: first, to go back to their rooms and wait for the fog to disappear, betting their luck that they wouldn’t be the next to be killed.

Secondly, it was to leave the apartment and seek refuge at the nearby police station. The police station had a wooden warehouse, and no matter how powerful that monster was, he would definitely not be able to withstand bullets.

Of course, there was a third option.

It was to unite all residents to deal with that strange person and completely extinguish the crisis at the source.

The resident who spoke before looked at Xia Chenxi’s silence and said anxiously, “Why are you hesitating? Since you came out like us to investigate the situation, you should understand how terrifying that person is.”

No one knew where the strange person was hiding. Standing in the corridor for an extra minute was like risking one minute of being discovered.

Xia Chenxi regained his senses and said to the resident, “But have you ever thought about where that strange person came from?”

Several residents were stunned at his words.

Xia Chenxi gently spoke, “This person easily broke through an iron door, and his two-meter-tall body was able to penetrate the doorway and complete the killing and dismemberment in just one minute.

During this time, there was no movement of the deceased struggling to resist, which has proven that the probability of him not being a human is unusually high.”

Such a strange existence couldn’t be perfectly hidden in the crowd without being discovered.

So there was only one possibility left.

This strange person was likely related to the black fog.

Xia Chenxi would rather stay here to face the strange person than enter the black fog to face unknown dangers.

Although that anchor didn’t encounter any problems from start to finish after entering the black fog, Xia Chenxi dared not gamble on this possibility.

A resident hesitated, “What do you mean… is this monster related to the Black Fog?”

“This is just my personal guess, and I don’t know the answer.” Xia Chenxi said this without nodding or shaking his head.

The resident immediately fell into contemplation: “Perhaps you’re right, but even if we stay here, we don’t have the ability to fight back against this monster unless we join forces with all the residents.”

At this point, his expression still showed a lack of confidence in the plan.

Faced with such a terrifying force, even seven or eight young men may not be able to resist.

“We have to give it a try,” Xia Chenxi said.

The resident’s expression hesitated; his heart was constantly struggling. Finally, he nodded and gritted his teeth. “This is the only way.”

He looked at the others again and said, “And you guys?”

The men were all young men; only one of them was in his mid-thirties, and he began by saying, “I’ll stay.”

They looked at each other.

The majority chose to stay, while the remaining small portion still adhered to their original views.

One of the people who insisted on escaping the apartment said, “I would rather go out for help than stay here to face that almost impossible monster. Besides, I have calculated that if I drive, I can reach the nearest police station in at most ten minutes.”

Others clearly thought the same way.

However, only the three of them chose to leave the apartment. The number of people was slightly smaller, so they had to unite with a few more residents to ensure safety.

Xia Chenxi and these people gathered together in the corridor, causing many residents who stayed inside to be curious and afraid, and they walked out one after another.

Some people were far from the apartment where the incident occurred and didn’t see the scene of the monster violently breaking through the door through their cat’s eyes.

They only heard the sound.

Therefore, when these residents came out, they clearly saw a hole in the iron door that had been violently hammered open, and fist dents were clearly visible on it.

Their hearts couldn’t help but feel cold.

In the eyes of everyone, the iron gate, which was incredibly sturdy and could protect everyone, was as fragile as paper in front of the murderer.

The iron gate clearly couldn’t withstand monsters.

Crisis and fear immediately permeated the hearts of all residents.

The most fearful among them was the resident who first discovered the corpse in the hallway. He was now covered in cold sweat and trembling with fear.

Even though the second person to die wasn’t him.

But he had seen that strange person through his cat’s eye before, and it didn’t look like what humans should look like.

Maybe it was really a monster.

At the same time, the residents hiding in their rooms noticed that there were more and more people in the corridor. They all wanted to know exactly what had happened, so they walked out of their apartments.

Like the people in front, they looked particularly frightened when they saw the opening of the iron door hammered open, and then came the fear of the strange person.

Many people were at the door and had seen the monster pass by.

That almost two-meter-tall body, strange spider-like limbs, and huge creepy eyes.

It was both strange and terrifying.

By this time, almost all the residents were out, leaving only one door still tightly closed.

Someone kindly knocked on the door to remind them, but they didn’t receive any feedback from the resident inside the apartment.

Immediately after, one of the residents suddenly seemed to think of something, with a hint of uncertainty: “Would it be… that the person in this apartment is the one who was killed and dismembered in the hallway?”

Everyone instantly fell silent, with different expressions.

Places like this one, where young people lived more often and where the pace of renewal was extraordinary, were largely not like old buildings where neighbors were familiar and informed.

Therefore, so far, no one had been able to determine whether the victim was actually a resident of this apartment.

But at this point, everyone didn’t want to continue to dwell on this matter; they were more concerned about their own safety.

Everyone started to talk, but no one dared speak loudly, afraid of attracting that strange person.

Time was life.

In less than a minute, all residents on the fourth floor had already learned about Xia Chenxi and another group of people’s respective plans.

Most people remained silent, and after thinking for a while, they decided to escape the apartment, although there may be unknown dangers in the fog.

This was just speculation, but at least before the internet connection was cut off, everyone had seen successful examples online of someone safely returning from the black fog.

In addition, the closest police station only took ten minutes by car, so they couldn’t be unlucky enough to encounter danger within these ten minutes, could they?

And another group of people, like Xia Chenxi, were worried that it would be more dangerous in the black fog. Instead of doing so, it would be better to face the strange person, whose appearance and strength were known.

With so many people united, they didn’t believe that the strange person dared to kill without restraint.

Soon, those who fled the apartment agreed to meet in the hallway in 10 minutes, but before doing so, they needed to find something to protect themselves.

Others who chose to stay also went back to their houses to find tools to protect themselves.

Xia Chenxi didn’t return to his apartment; perhaps due to the habit and instinct of playing horror escape games, he couldn’t help but think about something.

And that was the reason the strange person attacked those two guys.

Xia Chenxi stood in the empty hallway, surrounded by residents with open doors. Knowing that iron doors couldn’t resist the strange people, they felt a slight sense of security when they heard the movements of other residents.

There were still scattered fragments of the corpse on the ground, and after two hours, the blood had solidified and the color had turned dark brown.

The surrounding residents didn’t touch anything, so the first scene was still preserved.

Some people couldn’t bear to see the dismembered bodies lying like this, wanting to cover them with white cloth, but they were afraid of damaging the details of the scene, so they could only endure it for now.

But Xia Chenxi wanted to know something.

He went back to his apartment to find a clean handkerchief, rummaged through the pockets of the dismembered body, found the key, and then went to the tightly closed door.

This apartment was 402.

Xia Chenxi tried several keys until one of them was smoothly inserted into the hole, and his heart trembled slightly.
