Was this still human?

Xia Chenxi was inexplicably horrified.

The spider-like creature was still moving forward, with two long and thin legs moving without any footsteps.

Only the chains entwined around it were constantly making a clattering sound.

As it approached, Xia Chenxi finally saw the appearance of this strange person, and his heart almost stopped beating.

The person’s face was pale as if it had been coated with a layer of flour, and compared to their body, their face and head were somewhat small and abnormal.

The most terrifying thing was that its eyes were more than three times larger than those of ordinary people, almost occupying one-third of its entire face.

Its mouth cracked open, revealing fine, pointed teeth.

It seemed to be smiling.

It walked forward in the corridor, and the sound of the chains grew louder and louder.

Xia Chenxi believed that all the residents on this floor heard it, but so far, no one had opened their door.

A quiet and oppressive atmosphere permeated the corridor, with only the sound of chains becoming increasingly harsh, and even those who heard it began to feel restless.

Quickly, the strange person passed by Xia Chenxi’s door. Due to the close distance, Xia Chenxi saw more clearly than before and was even more shocked.

This strange person was wearing strange and tattered clothes that were almost completely ruined, and his skin was pale and bloodless.

Xia Chenxi’s mind inexplicably flashed with the dismembered limbs he had seen before. Due to the exhaustion of blood, the skin on it was abnormally pale.

Xia Chenxi looked around, picked up a baseball bat, and held it in front of him, staring at the strange person outside the peephole without blinking.

Not far away were the dismembered limbs. The strange person walked over without even looking and finally stopped at the apartment door diagonally opposite Xia Chenxi.

Xia Chenxi felt a hint of unease, but he didn’t dare walk around casually and make a sound that would be heard by the strange person.

Immediately afterwards, the strange person squatted down and leaned closer to the cat’s eye to look inside.

There were screams of panic and the sound of something being knocked down inside the door.

Xia Chenxi felt sweat run down his forehead.

What did this strange person want to do?

Upon reflection, Xia Chenxi was sure that anyone who encountered such a situation would also be startled.

At this moment, the strange person seemed very excited. Xia Chenxi couldn’t see its face clearly. He could only see it dancing non-stop.

Under the light, the tall and strange spider monster’s shadow twisted even more.

The person inside the door got up and saw the behavior of the strange person through the cat’s eye. A nervous and fearful voice came from inside: “Stay away from my door; I have already called the police!”

The monster continued to dance excitedly, with an indescribable sense of eerie rhythm, and then it suddenly stopped. Placing its hand on the doorknob, it began to rotate it.

But because the door was locked, the knob twisted several times but didn’t work.

The person inside the room warned even more harshly, “I don’t care who you are; leave quickly; the police will arrive soon.”

The creature remained unresponsive and continued to turn the door handle.

All residents in the room were listening to the noise at the door, while those who were closer looked out through their cat’s eyes, feeling very uneasy.

That person was really too strange.

Was it possible for humans to grow

like that?

But if it wasn’t a human, then… what else could it be?

The residents dared not think further.

But everyone instinctively suspected that this strange person was most likely the culprit who killed and dismembered the person in the hallway.

Was it targeting the next person?

The Spider-Monster spun the door handle, then frantically smashed the door a few times before breaking open the iron door. Then screams of terror rang out: “Don’t come over! Help!”

The monster’s two-meter-tall body easily squeezed into the smashed door opening, as if its body shrank. In less than a second, screams came from inside the room and then abruptly came to an end.

The corridor remained silent, and everything that happened in just a few seconds enveloped the residents with a chill and strong unease.

That monster was definitely not human!

No one could easily break open such a thick iron door, let alone enter the doorway as a whole.

But what exactly was that thing?

No one dared to open the door and come out to save the victim. They weren’t sure if they could resist this powerful monster, let alone whether the resident inside had died.

Xia Chenxi also didn’t go out.

Because he realized that his previous guess was correct, the power of this monster was extremely terrifying, and he could never harm it alone, let alone save anyone.

The corridor was once again quiet.

After about a minute, the monster crawled out of the doorway, half-squatting with legs like spiders. It quickly retreated and disappeared at the end of the hallway.

Xia Chenxi finally dared to relax and observe the corridor, but still, no one opened the door. He hurriedly returned to his bedroom to find his phone.

On the screen, the little person had changed from sitting to lying down, with an abnormal red color on his pale face.

The prompt appeared again.

[Dear player, It has fallen into a coma due to a wound infection. Will you accept the mission to obtain medical tape and help it? After completing the mission, you will obtain a mysterious title that can be used to protect yourself during the invasion of the black fog.]

Xia Chenxi pursed his lips. Could that strange person be related to the invasion of the black fog? He tried to connect to the internet again but failed.

Xia Chenxi took a deep breath and stared at this unknown mobile game with complex eyes. After thinking about it for a while, he ran to the door again. The apartment where the monster attacked was still quiet.

If the resident inside was still alive, they would inevitably make a sound for help.

There was no movement at all. There was a good chance he was either dead or unconscious.

Passively waiting wasn’t Xia Chenxi’s style, especially since this monster possessed such terrifying power. He had to find a way to protect himself.

At this moment, Xia Chenxi finally made a decision.

He needed to accept the task.

Xia Chenxi tried to poke the game interface, but as before, he couldn’t interact with the game character or any of the facilities inside the house.

It seemed that he could only accept the task.

He pursed his mouth slightly, took a deep breath, and then selected the option to “take the task.” A new window popped up on the game interface.

[Dear player, the purpose of this game is to cultivate love, so please start by filling in your personal information carefully. This will be beneficial for your future love development with the game character.]

Was the task so simple?

Xia Chenxi was stunned.

He closed the text pop-up window, and a new feature appeared in the upper left corner, with a blank avatar on it.

His profile page showed his personal information, which was similar to a typical mobile game profile page, requiring him to fill in his nickname and gender.

In addition, there were four options at the bottom: life, resistance, equipment, and title.

However, all four options were empty.

Xia Chenxi edited his nickname and looked at the blank area, lost in thought.

Did he want to use a nickname or his real name?

Would filling in his real name bring unknown dangers before he could find out if this love game was dangerous?

Xia Chenxi started typing and casually took a nickname. When he was about to confirm the selection with his thumb, he froze then deleted and filled it out again.

This time, he wrote his real name.

If this game was just a regular game, even if he filled in his real name, there wouldn’t be any harm.

But if this game was really related to the Black Fog Invasion, Xia Chenxi didn’t know how long the fog would last, let alone whether that monster was related to it.

He didn’t want to take the risk of entering the black fog, let alone sit idly by and wait for monsters to attack him.

Especially since this game had just made it clear that he needed to fill it out carefully, he had to follow the game tasks to gamble on this possibility.

After filling in his real name and gender, Xia Chenxi submitted it, and then there were changes in his profile.

[Nickname: Xia Chenxi [Real Name]]

[Gender: Male]

[Life: 90 [mild stomach pain]]

【 Resistance: 7 】

[Equipment: Currently unavailable]

[Title: None]

Xia Chenxi’s eyes widened slightly, looking at the content of the “Life” column with some suspicion.

He did have a slight stomach pain.

How did this game detect it?

Xia Chenxi wanted to continue checking his personal information, but once again, a text prompt popped up on his phone interface.

[Congratulations to the player for completing the mission.]

[The item [Medical Tape X1] and title [Infinite Strength] have been distributed to your backpack.]

Subsequently, the backpack function appeared in the lower right corner.

Xia Chenxi opened his backpack and really saw these two task rewards. He was more concerned about the title, but healing the game character was important.

After all, the game existed based on this character.

When Xia Chenxi used [medical tape] and turned off his backpack, he found that the little man was still in a coma. After thinking about it, he tried to poke him in the wound.

Immediately after, medical tape was applied to the wound on the little man. In less than a few seconds, his rapid breathing gradually calmed down, and he slept even more quietly.

This should be considered a successful treatment, right?

[You have successfully treated it, and its injuries will slowly recover.]

[Congratulations to the player for gaining: love points+1.]

Hmm?

What was the use of this thing?

Xia Chenxi temporarily suppressed his doubt and tried opening the title item in the package, trying to equip it.

[Dear player, you have successfully equipped [Infinite Strength]. For more information, please check your personal profile list.]

Xia Chenxi didn’t immediately follow its instructions; instead, he carefully felt his body but didn’t feel any change.

Was it just a coincidence?

Xia Chenxi suddenly felt a slight sense of disappointment. The black fog invasion mentioned in the game may have no connection with the black fog in reality.

“Ah, he’s really dead! We have to leave here!”

There were screams of terror in the hallway.

Xia Chenxi quickly put away his phone and looked out through his cat’s eye. Several men were in the hallway, looking frightened.

The door of the room where the accident occurred had already been opened, and blood could be faintly seen inside.

Xia Chenxi hesitated for a moment, then opened the door and walked out.

The others raised their heads at the sound, and the first resident who opened the door and found the dead person repeated what they had just said to Xia Chenxi.

“Brother, the resident in the house is also dead, just like the person in the hallway who was dismembered. That monster must not be a human. In my opinion, we must unite to escape this apartment.”

The others didn’t speak.

At this moment, the atmosphere was very solemn, with the fear and anxiety of the unknown hidden in every face.
