I put it into practice and I’ve come to the realization… Once you’ve questioned your integrity as a human being, all your trivial concerns pale in comparison. Nhn… Lia-chan’s so warm… you’d never imagine that she was previously all bones…

Particularly, if you deliver the activation word in the draconic language and invoke the magic used by dragons that way… we might be able to replace the language on the magic circles with that of the dragons’. The sequence might be reversed but if we can transcribe the invoked magic circle that’s in the draconic language and decipher it with this dictionary to find out the words in the full chant, it may be possible to achieve a complete invocation.”

“Let’s give it a try! Oh right, Napping-chan should’ve expanded and added training grounds in the underground area! How about we carry out a bunch of our experiments there!”

“I heard it always returns back to its original state despite how destroyed it gets so let’s use it to our heart’s content.”

The guild’s team of magic onee-samas and Aurelia mama started talking about something difficult… Eh, what was that? You’re saying that even though Aurelia-chan’s dragon magic disappeared, it wasn’t gone completely? Could it be that there was still a chance? Oohhh!?

“Rinne-san! That look on your face, have you bounced back?”

“Inhale little girls to improve your spirits. This is common sense.”

While I was dejected, these two couldn’t hold themselves back from appraising the rainbow [? Clothes] and this was the result, an equipment with a card in it… The two of them were wide-eyed and gobsmacked to see an equipment with so many downsides. After all, the only merits to it was that it allowed you to use a skill no one really understood and a card effect with a skill that lets you fly. Obviously, there’s no way they’d waste their innerwear slot and equip something like this…

But what do you know? The ban on HP regeneration from [Fear] and the stalling of my MP recovery from [Madness] had no effect on me. Reason being, I had my undead and boss attributes!!! The only status effects that could bypass the combination of Undead – Boss were [Bleed] and [Burn] !!! I have a serious resistance against this stuff! I won’t get scared and my sanity will stay in check. Hey there, Mr. Cursed Equipment, how are you feeling right now? Oh, please do tell!

“Can I really have this one? Despite everything, it’s still mystic equipment, you know?”

“Don’t want it.”

“I certainly don’t need it…”

“Yaay!”

If they say they don’t need it, then I’ve got no choice but to take it, right? In which case, I’ll receive it with grace and put it on. What kind of innerwear is it, you ask? I mean, I’m not gonna show it off but… I’ll just say I’m having a bit of difficulty seeing this as actual underwear. It might be more appropriate to describe this as a string. Still, just so you know, if you try to take off your outerwear, you’ll get an error saying it’s an “invalid action” so you can’t carry out that sort of behavior, m’kay? This is a safe and secure game.

Seriously, where did this siren card come from… That being said, now Pers-chan’s the only one without a card. Don’t think about it, Pers-chan, empty your thoughts…

“Certainly! Let’s do it together on the count of three!”

Now that we finished up with the item distribution and appraisals… let’s go ahead and do this awakening event!!! When I opened my equipment tab, a display saying [Abyssal Death Drive (Awakening Skill Acquisition Possible!)] appeared. Upon pressing the button, it opened up an option to offer up a Proof Of Monarch so this has to be correct.

“Warning!!! You will potentially not receive normal support!!!”

Ohh, there it is again. The usual warning display. Compared to before, there was a lot more noise and glitchy flickering that really piled on the horror direction. They really love doing this kind of thing.

“This sort of scenario does get your blood pumping! Now, let’s all press it on the count of three!”
“S-Should we really press this!? Are you sure this is actually okay!?”

“I had this last time, so it’s probably fine”

After inserting the Proof Of Monarch and clicking on the “Awakening Skill Acquisition Possible” button… a black portal opened up at the bottom of my feed and swallowed me in. I was placed in a mysterious space… which was entirely encapsulated by a vast dark red mist. Such an ominous room…

“Oh, you’re here♡”

“… Babylon-samaaaa!!!”

“Yes yes, it’s your beloved Babylon-chan♡”

When I looked back, there she was! Babylon-chan’s here too!! What do I do, cling onto her and breathe her in like Rena-chan-senpai did!? Inhale her!?

“All things considered, you sure reached level 75 quickly. You didn’t cheat, did you?”

“Hm♡ Good response! I took a quick peek into your past and it seems you’ve grown more accustomed to exploiting the weaknesses of opponents stronger than you, haven’t you? Not bad♡”

“You won’t be able to use or recover your necropoints for, I’m guessing around an hour, perhaps?”

“That’s right? In your case, madwoman, you won’t be able to revive your undead and if all your undead are wiped off, it’s over. You need to take care as to not have something like that happen”

… The main topic! I made a rough memo of Babylon-chan’s explanation on awakening skills.

– Once I activate my awakening skill, I’ll enter a state of”NP Break”

– While in this NP Break state, I can’t use or recover NP

– The NP Break state will be lifted in an hour

– It’s a high risk skill but worthwhile because of its high return which could turn around a situation.

“… Did you get all that? Do you need me to explain it again?”

“Then, we’ll proceed with your awakening, madwoman♡”

I memorized it all but wait, Babylon-chan, just a little, let me inhale you just for a bit–

“The madwoman’s dead♡ Oh no♡”

“I wonder if the recovery speed for your necropoints have gotten to point where you recover one every minute now?”

“Me♡ (LV. ????) uses [Greater Teleportation] and returns the madwoman to where she was originally, mkay? Bye-bye♡”

… Oh wow, these system messages were super cute… can I pay to have these instead…?

I’m back… in the usual room 3.

“Pers-chan! Did you also meet Babylon-chan?”

“Indeed I did. I also had a brawl with her… but it was an overwhelming defeat….”

“I got to breathe her in again, but she inhaled me back, pushed me down and we got closer”

What the heck, Rena-chan-senpai, I’m kinda jealous now!?

“As always, I got pulverized and restored back together… but I got my own dose of happiness…”

It seems I was the last one to return. Pers-chan and Rena-chan-senpai appear to have been granted their awakening skills before they got back. When I told them that I became the awakened class,”Thanatos”,which was a complete ascension from the necromancer, I found out that Pers-chan became a “Executioner Princess”and Rena-chan-senpai became an”Arcane Sharpshooter”. It looks like we each got our awakening skills as well as an increase in the amount of points for our respective classes and their recovery rate so we all pretty much got the same thing.

“I’m really curious about these awakening skills…”

“I’ll check mine out privately tomorrow.”

“I’m also gonna check mine in secret tomorrow…”

“A-As will I!”

I decided to set aside the details for tomorrow… Rather, I get the feeling all three of us probably had a skill with an outrageous name that made us unable to review it here out in the open. After all, mine was [Death Encroachment] , y’know? No matter how you spin it, this skill gives off the impression that it does something like apply instant death to the area… but there’s no way I could confirm it now and in the first place, my necro points were currently in the break state right now. I’m pretty sure it’s because I died earlier though!!!

“Ah, it’s 12am… I’ll bow out of the rest of the item distributions, good night”

“Wasn’t that a bit to sudden!? Eh!? She really just quit!?”

“She actually left…”

“W-Well… it’s true that Rena-san’s never awake past 12 so it can’t be helped.”

“I wonder if she has work again tomorrow”

“If I’m not mistaken, Rena-san works every other Saturday… Was she working this week? I feel like I recall her saying she finishes up in half a day or something.”

“Then, after Rena-chan-senpai logs in tomorrow, should we go take down the boss in Ocean Abyss Dungeon?”

“Yes, definitely! I’ll send her a message with something along those lines…”

Haah… Ah… Somehow, a lot’s happened and it’s made me sleepy. Although, tomorrow’s a Saturday which is an off-day for me so it wouldn’t hurt to stay up a little longer. Oh right! Maybe I should go see what Lia-chan and the guild’s magic onee-samas are researching.

“Pers-chan, what are you planning on doing after this?”

“After crossing swords with Babylon-chan, I realized I’m still far too weak when it comes to fighting people so I was thinking of sparring a bit with the guild members… what about you, Rinne-san?”

“Maybe I’ll do some Lia-chan observation? I’m curious as to what she’s up to.”

“In that case, I believe they’re in training ground two! Then, I’ll just take these common as well as uncommon items and–”

It sounds like Pers-chan was going to go participate in some sparring. For the time being, the common and uncommon items were thrown in the guild storage. As for the legendary equipment, Pers-chan went to hand [★Whale Devourer] over to Reiji-san if he could use it. [Unstoppable Slaughter] was more or less in my possession, and Rena-chan-senpai was holding onto the [Giant Skillet] which she was probably going to give to Baldy-san later.

Apparently, the spell books and cookbooks were stored inside a new room in the guild, the library. Since guild members can freely visit and read here, I received a guild email telling me I should make use of it. I’d love to see this place filled with spellbooks or skill books… Unfortunately, my Guide To Necromancy – Dark Magic are both untradeable items so I can’t put them in the library but if I do come across ones that are tradable, I’ll shelve them in there.

At any rate, there’s more things for me to do now… After we defeat the boss, I’d like to have a check on Donta, Lia-chan, my own, as well as Pers-chan’s stats… if she lets me and collectively look things over. We might surprisingly be missing something obvious.

“Oh, you’re done? Did Rena go to sleep?”

“She went to bed! I heard from her but are you really relatives, Baldy-san!?”

“Yeah. I can’t believe it myself but apparently we are. She’s like that in real life too, always floating around carefree no matter where she is and it’s kind of scary.”

“… I refuse to believe this.”

“How come?”

“… Well, you have a little squid on your head…”

“It’s cute, isn’t it?”

“Sure…”

Man… I still can’t get over the fact that Baldy-san and Rena-chan-senpai are relatives, no matter how many times I look at them… I really can’t believe this… hurry up and say that it was all just a joke…
