Chapter 14: Day Two Starts With A Bang

I was curious if the guild had any cursed items and I found a thing called a [Cursed Coin] . Appearance wise, it looked like your average run-of-the-mill silver coin but it was different from the silver and premium gold currencies that you used in the game so I’m not sure what the purpose of this vintage coin was.

As for what the curse was, whenever this coin would be used in a coin-toss, everyone would lose sight of the coin and it was guaranteed to land directly on the performer’s forehead. What an adorable curse. When Napping-san showed me how the coin toss worked, I heard the clink as the coin went up into the air but couldn’t tell where the actual coin was. Napping-san moved to a side in which the coin would never fly towards but it still marvelously hit her smack dab on the forehead. I was surprised to find out the guild had 200 of these coins lying around.

“… What a strange item”

“Woooof! (Weird coin!)”

Now that the cursed item was a step that was out of the way, Donta and I went to the coast by ourselves. Since I was making this as a gift for Aurelia-chan, we left her behind to house-sit. This beach was off to the west a bit from the harbor and had a bunch of aquatic monsters wandering around but according to Napping-san, it wasn’t all too different from the rocky area we were in before.

“Woofu! (Monster found!)”

“A clam-type, huh… Donta, go smack it so we can see how it reacts.”

“Woffu! (Okay!)”

For now, we’ve run across some sort of clam monster. It was quite big, around the size of a person’s head. Using the propulsion from opening and closing its mouth, it would bounce around the beach. It’s supposed to be around level 35 so I should exercise some caution but well, Donta should be fine on his own.

“Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrff!!! (Owwwwwwwwwch!!!)”

“Mutant Clam (LV. 36) closes its shell, trapping Dontaro’s front leg”

Just looking, I could tell that would’ve been the death of me but I didn’t expect Donta to get caught before he even got to hit it, you really are clumsy… Ahh, that’s exactly why I named you Donta.

… Ooh, you’re getting combo’d by those monsters, Donta. Just like its straight-forward name implied, a crab as big as a human head used its claws to pincer Donta’s tail… It does look pretty painful… Although, the funny thing about this mechanic is that it’s actually doing no damage to Donta since it’s considered an attack that isn’t life-threatening. Even though it looks painful, his HP isn’t decreasing because the system doesn’t recognize it as an attack that would lead to death. So do your best out there, Donta…

Ah, this isn’t gonna work. If none of them are gonna be able to decide the match, this will never end… Can’t be helped, let’s take care of it.

Huh, the experience is kind of low… Aah! It’s because it’s missing Aurelia-chan and Pers-chan’s share of EXP. I see, the difference would really show once it accumulates. If you can, it was much more worth it to be in a party…

“But we did get a corpse out of it…”

More importantly, we had to do this before the monster corpse despawns. It usually took around 30 seconds for a dead body to completely disappear and I had to do what I needed to before that happened. Let’s see, first I take the broom out of my inventory? Then grab the cursed item from my inventory too… How should I be holding these things? I guess I’ll have the cursed item in my right hand… and the broom in my left?

Uooh, ooooooh… The item in my left hand melted into some sort of black mud and was absorbed into the corpse, which then also proceeded to turn into sludge…

I’ll just thrust this broom into the corpse! How about that! Was this the right answer!? Eeewwwwww the mud is clinging onto the broooooom, aaaahhh it’s so gross…!!!

Is it over? Is it finally over!? Ah, it looked just like a normal broom but the brush parts were cutely decorated with seashells and starfish. The handle also had silver ornaments attached to it. This might be a pretty cute design… actually, this is a really cute design! This is gonna become a weapon, huh… I wonder if it can be used as a regular broom too. I’ll give it a try…

… Just now, I could’ve sworn I heard the sound of waves crashing when I swept with the broom. That wasn’t the actual ocean waves nearby, right? I’ll do it again, but I’ll time it when the real waves are inactive…

Since it’s a unique item, I guess I was safe to enhance it up to +5… It depends on the materials I’d need but maybe I should go for it.

They said they were giving it to Aurelia as a present and that you were free to do whatever with it” I guess it’s fine then… Aren’t I getting too many cosmetics gifted to me?

“Heeh… so brooms can be used as weapons too! I’d always thought that mages could only use staffs and wands”

“It might be because she’s an apprentice witch. It said you can’t use it unless you have a skill called broom control.”

Even without directly holding the broom, it seems like Aurelia-chan was able to lightly float. I wonder if this was the effect of the broom control skill. I thought it was kind of shabby but… I was surprised to find out that she could apparently resize the broom as well. It could get as small as an ink brush or enlarge by around 1.5x? It looks like it could lengthen to about 2 meters. Say farewell to the flaw of conservation of mass.

Anyways, Since it’ll be a while until Pers-chan logs in, Aurelia-chan will practice with Donta-san in the meantime so she can get better at flying. Good for you, Aurelia-chan. You get to practice in an area as spacious as the guild house lobby.

She utilized magic which differed from the usual rogue classes that employed physical skills. On top of that, it was a very niche support class that she picked. Yet, as if brushing aside the difficulty of the class, she was regarded as one of the front runners when it came to tackling new content.

An extremely perverted lolicon who loves to partake in the ritual of inhaling the vapors emitting off of little girls. Within the first day they met, she thoroughly breathed in Aurelia’s zest and the other players banned her from getting close. Even though she adheres to the rules, she’s still a degenerate.
