I Can Add Points Infinitely - Chapter 49
Inside the Inner Sect of Azure Cloud Sect.
Shen Lian walked along the path with a light step. He hadn’t expected that the Demon Emperor Sword’s allure would be so immense, prompting three crafting masters to lower their pride, offer to make the scabbard for free, and even propose additional payment just to study it.
This didn’t just save Shen Lian some spirit stones; it solved his immediate financial concerns. He now had only about five hundred spirit stones left, and from what Master Li had murmured about the required materials, this amount likely wouldn’t have sufficed.
…
Inner Sect Scripture Pavilion.
Shen Lian arrived at the entrance, greeted the Elder guarding the pavilion, and stepped inside. With his current strength displayed at the third level of the Foundation Establishment stage, he could select four more techniques to study.
This time, Shen Lian focused on choosing techniques related to body refinement. He quickly found four suitable techniques and began reading them. After carefully studying for over three hours, he completed his reading, and the skill points were credited as usual.
Without hesitation, Shen Lian immediately upgraded the four techniques to their perfect levels. Since these were all Profound rank techniques, each consumed more points, with two of them being upper Profound rank, which required even more.
After maxing them out, a total of five hundred and twenty skill points were consumed, leaving Shen Lian with just over three thousand four hundred skill points.
He didn’t spend the remaining skill points for the time being. The unmaxed skills he currently had were all high-level techniques obtained from the lottery, including Heaven-Splitting Sword Technique, Split Soul Technique, and others. Each one was a big consumer of skill points, so this amount would barely make a dent. Shen Lian decided to wait until he had accumulated enough to make significant upgrades.
He clenched his fists lightly, feeling the explosive power coursing through his body. Shen Lian estimated that with his current physical strength, he could easily dominate within the Foundation Establishment stage, far surpassing his previous state by dozens of times.
Each of the Profound rank body refinement techniques alone would allow someone to stand out, not to mention that he had mastered four of them.
However, when he opened the system panel, his excitement quickly dissipated. Seventy-Two Earth Fiend Transformations was still locked, with the same message indicating that his physical strength was insufficient.
“Damn, just how strong does my body need to be to use this technique?” Shen Lian muttered in frustration. “Does it really require a body as terrifying as that of the Monkey King, who couldn’t be harmed even by the three disasters and six calamities?”
Shen Lian frowned in thought. With no immediate solution, he reluctantly returned to Luoxia Peak. As he flew back toward his courtyard, he noticed a young man dressed in the attire of a core disciple standing at the entrance, quietly conversing with a few gatekeeping disciples.
Sensing this, Shen Lian probed with his divine sense and was surprised to find that the person was at the eighth level of the Golden Core stage, three small levels above Chu Mingxu.
“A cultivator of this level is undoubtedly a top expert among core disciples. What brings him to my courtyard?” Shen Lian thought as he descended.
“Greetings, Senior Brother,” the gatekeepers greeted upon seeing Shen Lian.
Shen Lian nodded slightly, acknowledging them, while the young man turned around upon noticing the disciples’ actions. His eyes lit up when he saw Shen Lian, and he greeted with a smile, “You must be Junior Brother Shen Lian.”
“I am Shen Lian. May I know who you are, Senior Brother?” Shen Lian responded calmly.
“Haha, I’m Su Luo, ranked fourth among the core disciples,” the young man introduced with a smile.
“So, it’s Senior Brother Su,” Shen Lian greeted with a slight bow, his tone neither warm nor cold.
Due to his earlier encounter with Chu Mingxu, Shen Lian’s initial impression of the core disciples was far from favorable. However, despite Shen Lian’s lukewarm response, Su Luo maintained his courteous demeanor and said, “Junior Brother Shen, I returned to the sect due to some mundane affairs. When I heard about your promotion to a core disciple, I was thrilled to know our Azure Cloud Sect has gained another peerless talent worthy of celebration.”
As he spoke, Su Luo glanced at the nearby gatekeeping disciple, who immediately presented an invitation letter to him. Su Luo handed it to Shen Lian, saying, “Tomorrow at noon, I’m hosting a banquet at Hongyun Tower in Liao Xin City, inviting some fellow sect members. There’s no particular theme, just an opportunity to catch up with old friends. I hope you’ll honor us with your presence.”
Shen Lian instinctively accepted the invitation and glanced at the contents, which matched what Su Luo had said. He couldn’t help but ask, “Senior Brother, did you personally come just to deliver this invitation?”
“Haha, personally delivering it shows sincerity. I was worried I’d miss you, but fortunately, fate has brought us together,” Su Luo replied with a smile.
Hearing this, Shen Lian felt a bit moved. Compared to Chu Mingxu’s arrogance, Su Luo’s humble approach left a much better impression. Shen Lian had already planned to avoid unnecessary interactions with other core disciples, but Su Luo’s personal visit and courteous attitude made it difficult to refuse.
Since Shen Lian was someone who responded well to kindness but poorly to pressure, he pondered briefly before nodding and saying, “Alright, I’ll be there tomorrow.”
“Great! I’ll be waiting for you at Hongyun Tower, Junior Brother,” Su Luo said with a smile.
Shen Lian nodded, then invited, “Senior Brother, why don’t you come in for some tea?”
“No need,” Su Luo shook his head. “I still have many friends to visit. Let’s catch up more tomorrow.”
“Alright then.” Shen Lian didn’t insist.
After bidding farewell, Su Luo flew away in a streak of light, and Shen Lian finally turned back into his courtyard. He thought to himself that tomorrow’s visit to Liao Xin City would also be a good opportunity to inquire about the True Condensation Pill at Spirit Treasure Pavilion.
…
With this plan in mind, Shen Lian spent the night cultivating in silence.
The next day, nearing noon, Shen Lian flew to Liao Xin City. Hongyun Tower was the largest restaurant in the city, located not far from the Spirit Treasure Pavilion. Upon arrival, Shen Lian saw Su Luo standing at the entrance, warmly welcoming guests.
When Su Luo saw Shen Lian, he immediately greeted him enthusiastically, “Junior Brother, I’ve been waiting for you! Come on in; you might even see some familiar faces.”
With a wink, he led Shen Lian inside.
“Oh?” Shen Lian nodded lightly, exchanging a few words with Su Luo before stepping into the hall.
The interior of Hongyun Tower was lavishly decorated, exuding an air of grandeur. Su Luo had rented out the entire place just for this gathering. As Shen Lian entered the hall, he spotted several familiar faces, including many Inner Sect Elders and a large number of true disciples. Among them, he even noticed the Seventh Elder and Yun Xiong.
“Master, you’re here too?” Shen Lian asked, puzzled.
The Seventh Elder waved his hand and, as Shen Lian approached, whispered with a smile, “Su Luo loves a grand occasion, so he invited us to join the fun.”
“Join the fun?” Shen Lian looked around, observing the crowded room filled with guests. He even spotted the Third Elder among them, further proving Su Luo’s high standing within the sect.
“Do you know why Su Luo arranged this banquet?” the Seventh Elder asked quietly.
“No idea. He didn’t mention much, just said it was a gathering of fellow sect members,” Shen Lian replied honestly.
“Heh, a gathering?” The Seventh Elder chuckled softly before using a secret voice transmission directly into Shen Lian’s mind. “His real target is you.”
“Me?” Shen Lian’s eyes widened in surprise.
