Shen Lian had just finished a brief exchange with Yun Xiong when the skirmish on the other side abruptly ended.

Initially, the battle between Azure Cloud Sect and Thunder Valley had been fierce, with both sides fighting with a kill-or-be-killed mentality. However, things took a sharp turn when Shen Lian exposed his peak level ten Qi Refinement aura and killed the well-known Lu E with a single strike. Worried about Shen Lian, Yun Xiong also unleashed his full power, slaying one of Thunder Valley’s top experts. In an instant, the high-end combat strength between the two sides had become lopsided.

Since Shen Lian and Yun Xiong were focused on their own matters, the Thunder Valley disciples seized the opportunity to retrieve the body of the effeminate youth and promptly ordered a retreat. Azure Cloud Sect disciples gave chase for a while, but Thunder Valley’s focus on escaping meant they couldn’t be caught, forcing the Azure Cloud Sect disciples to give up and return.

When they regrouped, everyone’s gaze naturally fell on Shen Lian. The disciples under the Third Elder’s lineage glared at Shen Lian with anger but were too afraid to speak up due to his overwhelming strength.

The disciples under the Fifth Elder’s line, including Luo Junyuan and Shan Qing, looked worried. Meanwhile, those under the First, Eighth, and Ninth Elders—the neutral faction—were much more relaxed, enjoying the show unfolding before them.

“Little Junior Brother, are you okay?” Luo Junyuan and Shan Qing walked over to Shen Lian, their concern evident.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine,” Shen Lian said with a smile.

“Good,” they nodded slightly.

“Damn, I need to keep this as evidence for when we get back.” Yun Xiong suddenly smacked his forehead, remembering something important. He walked over and nudged Lu E’s severed corpse with his foot before reluctantly pulling out an empty storage bag and stuffing the body inside.

The disciples of the Third Elder’s line stirred uneasily at this sight, but Yun Xiong secured the body, turned, and shouted, “What are you looking at? If you’ve got something to say, wait until we’re back at the sect. It’s not like your dad died, so stop acting like the world owes you.”

The Third Elder’s disciples were rendered speechless. With Lu E, their leader, gone, none of them dared to provoke Yun Xiong. Moreover, standing right next to Yun Xiong was Shen Lian, the so-called ‘Killer’ who had just dispatched Lu E without hesitation. No one wanted to push their luck and become his next target.

With everyone having the same thought, no one dared to make a fuss. Seeing this, Yun Xiong nodded in satisfaction.

“With that settled, what should we do about the swords inside the barrier?” Yun Xiong turned his attention back to the group.

Shen Lian pondered briefly and, seeing no objections, suggested, “Since we’ve already driven off Thunder Valley, let’s work together to break the barrier. Once it’s down, everyone can grab what they can; whoever gets it first keeps it. How does that sound?”

“I’m in,” Yun Xiong immediately agreed.

“We’re fine with that too,” Luo Junyuan, Shan Qing, and the other disciples under the Fifth Elder nodded in agreement.

Shen Lian and Yun Xiong then turned toward the neutral faction of the First Elder’s side. The leader, a young man, glanced at his group before stepping forward and saying, “We agree as well.”

“Good, then let’s do it.” With the consensus reached, Shen Lian and Yun Xiong didn’t bother consulting the Third Elder’s disciples further and decided on the plan. The Third Elder’s disciples also knew better than to object and quietly waited on the sidelines.

The group gathered around the barrier, focusing their energies. Yun Xiong, Shen Lian, and the young leader of the neutral faction combined their forces and launched a powerful strike against the barrier.

“Boom!”

A thunderous explosion echoed as the combined might of the three tenth level Qi Refinement cultivators overwhelmed the barrier, shattering it in an instant. The spirit swords, now freed, shot off in all directions like birds released from a cage.

Standing at the forefront, Yun Xiong, Shen Lian, and the neutral faction leader were the first to react, each grabbing a sword within reach. Following closely were Luo Junyuan, Shan Qing, and other skilled disciples, all utilizing their various techniques to snatch the flying swords.

Shen Lian’s movement technique, in particular, allowed him to flash through the air, leaving afterimages as he grabbed sword after sword.

In just a few moments, the sky cleared, and the swords were all taken. Yun Xiong, Luo Junyuan, and Shan Qing each secured one sword. The neutral faction managed to grab six swords, while the Fifth Elder’s side snatched four. The unluckiest of all were the disciples of the Third Elder, who, due to their distance and Shen Lian’s targeted snatching, ended up empty-handed. Shen Lian himself ended up with five swords in hand.

As everyone landed, those who had secured a sword were delighted, while those who hadn’t could only look on enviously. With a smile, Shen Lian noticed that three disciples under the Fifth Elder’s line hadn’t managed to get a sword. He approached them with a thought.

“Senior Brothers, I have a few extra swords here. Why don’t you take them?” Shen Lian offered. “We all contributed to this battle; it wouldn’t be right for you to leave empty-handed.”

“This… how can we accept this?” The three disciples were taken aback, hesitating to accept.

“Don’t worry about it. We’re all fellow disciples; why quibble over material things?” Shen Lian replied kindly.

“Just take them already! We’re all straight shooters here—no need to beat around the bush,” Yun Xiong added, understanding Shen Lian’s intentions immediately.

“Well, alright. Thank you, Senior Brother Shen Lian,” the three disciples finally accepted, delighted to receive the swords. They then gave Shen Lian a knowing look. “Don’t worry, Senior Brother. We know what to do.”

“Don’t mention it. We’re all on the same side,” Shen Lian said, waving it off casually while feeling a sense of relief inside. The swords weren’t given without reason—they were meant to secure alliances and support for when they returned to the sect. Shen Lian knew that even the closest relationships needed shared benefits to remain strong.

After chatting briefly with the three disciples, Shen Lian turned with his remaining two swords and approached the neutral faction led by the First Elder’s disciples.

“Greetings, everyone…” Shen Lian greeted them with a friendly smile.

“Senior Brother Shen, you’re bribing us right out in the open, huh?” The young leader joked with a grin.

“Hehe… Well, are you going to let me bribe you?” Shen Lian asked with a sly smile, his eyes meeting the young leader’s meaningfully.
