I Can Add Points Infinitely - Chapter 33
The clash of fists sent a shockwave rippling through the air, silencing the chaotic battlefield momentarily. The intense impact overshadowed the surrounding fights, drawing everyone’s attention for a brief second.
Thud, thud, thud!
Shen Lian, having hastily gathered his energy, couldn’t unleash his full power and was forced back three steps before regaining his balance. Across from him, Lu E stood arrogantly, hands behind his back, eyes fixed on Shen Lian with a disdainful smirk.
“What do you mean by this?” Shen Lian’s voice was cold.
Lu E stared at him and let out a light chuckle. “To take my punch head-on… it seems you’re not just at the third level of Qi Refinement, huh?”
“You’ve been hiding your strength. What’s your true intention?”
“I suspect you’re hiding something sinister, and in that case, I can’t let you go. If you surrender now, we can sort this out peacefully. Otherwise, I’ll take you down and let the elders judge you back at the sect.”
Lu E positioned himself as a moral authority, spouting accusations and excuses. From their brief exchange, he had gauged Shen Lian’s approximate power level—there was no faking the real clash they just had.
“You intend to attack your fellow sect members?” Shen Lian ignored Lu E’s fabricated charges and asked with an icy tone.
“So what if I do? Better think about how you’ll explain your hidden strength to the elders back at the sect.” Lu E sneered. Without waiting for Shen Lian’s response, he drew his sword, sending a flurry of sword flowers slashing toward him.
“Hmph!” Shen Lian snorted. He had not wanted to fight a fellow disciple within the secret realm—too many witnesses could make things difficult to explain later. That’s why he hadn’t drawn his Blue Jade Sword against Lu E initially. But Lu E clearly had no intention of letting him off, especially since his righteous words masked a ruthless killing intent.
Though Shen Lian had only been in this world for a few months, he had already developed a keen sense for danger through his battles in the Shadow Forest and secret killings of enemies like Wang Hui. His decisive nature had been honed through constant conflict.
Sensing Lu E’s lethal intent, Shen Lian stopped hesitating. With a flick of his wrist, the Blue Jade Sword appeared, and his true strength erupted, matching Lu E’s peak tenth level Qi Refinement.
Swish!
Blue sword light flashed.
Clang, clang, clang…
The air was filled with the sound of metal clashing. Lu E felt his sword lighten in his hand as it was sliced into several pieces, leaving only the hilt in his grip. Before he could react, a blue sword light flashed before his eyes, forcing him to retreat in panic—yet it was too late.
Slash!
A sharp chill spread across his chest, and a long sword mark appeared. Blood and flesh were split open, and fresh blood poured from the wound.
“Damn it, a spirit weapon? You’ve been hiding more than I thought!” Lu E cursed, his forehead drenched in cold sweat. He realized that if his reaction had been even a fraction slower, Shen Lian would have sliced him in half. Hastily, he reached into his storage pouch, retrieved a healing pill, and swallowed it, quickly pressing his pressure points to staunch the bleeding. Lu E’s eyes flashed with a murderous gleam as he glared at Shen Lian.
“It’s just a spirit weapon. If that’s all you’ve got, then you’re as good as dead.”
Swish!
With those words, Lu E pulled out a pale yellow spirit weapon sword. Though its aura was slightly weaker than Shen Lian’s, being a lower-grade spirit weapon, it wouldn’t be easily severed like his previous sword.
“Die!”
Roaring in rage, Lu E launched his next attack. As he charged, his energy surged, his aura rising dramatically in an instant. His eyes turned bloodshot and ferocious; clearly, he was using a secret technique that greatly enhanced his strength for a short time at the cost of severe side effects.
Lu E was desperate—his previous injury had forced him to go all out. He couldn’t afford to drag out the fight any longer, or his condition would worsen.
“Damn it, Lu E, what are you doing?!”
Nearby, Yun Xiong was still locked in a fierce battle with the effeminate youth from Thunder Valley. Just as he was about to capture his opponent, he sensed Lu E’s explosive energy and turned to see him recklessly attacking Shen Lian. Yun Xiong couldn’t help but curse loudly, “Bastard! If my junior brother loses even a hair, I’ll never forgive you!”
With an angry roar, Yun Xiong also unleashed his full power, increasing his grip on the effeminate youth and yanking him forward. Without hesitation, Yun Xiong threw a ferocious punch.
Bang!
The youth couldn’t withstand even a second of Yun Xiong’s might and was hit squarely in the chest. A fist-sized hole appeared where his chest once was, Yun Xiong’s punch having torn clean through. Yun Xiong, not bothering to check if the youth was alive or dead, tossed him aside and charged toward Lu E.
By this time, Lu E, with his lethal intent and surging energy, had already reached Shen Lian. Shen Lian, however, stood his ground, his expression cold and unyielding.
“Junior Brother, dodge!” Yun Xiong shouted in panic.
But in the next moment, Shen Lian moved—abruptly and with explosive speed. Instead of dodging, he met Lu E’s attack head-on, his right hand swinging upward in a flash.
“Breaking Sword Technique!”
Shen Lian’s inner voice echoed. The blue sword light twisted like a dragon, avoiding Lu E’s incoming strike and cutting through faster than Lu E’s attack could land.
Slash!
Lu E’s charging figure froze in midair, his face contorted in shock as he stared at Shen Lian. In that brief instant, though his movements continued, his aura vanished, and he appeared like a lifeless puppet. Shen Lian calmly stepped aside as Lu E rushed past, then crashed to the ground.
“Thud!”
When Lu E hit the ground, his body split in two, and blood gushed out like a fountain.
“What the—!” Yun Xiong landed beside Shen Lian, staring at the scene in disbelief. He glanced at Shen Lian and then at Lu E’s corpse, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.
After a long pause, Yun Xiong finally stammered, “Did… did you kill him?”
Scratching his head, Yun Xiong seemed overwhelmed. It took him another moment to shout, “Wait! Your strength—”
“I had some gains in the secret realm, boosting my power,” Shen Lian replied calmly. He had already prepared his excuse when deciding to act.
“So that’s it! Haha… Congrats, Junior Brother!” Yun Xiong laughed heartily, slapping Shen Lian on the shoulder, not probing further. He frowned as he turned back to Lu E’s body and muttered, “But killing this guy might cause some trouble.”
“I mean, I disliked him too and wouldn’t mind seeing him dead, but he was still a fellow disciple…”
“He attacked me first,” Shen Lian said firmly. “You saw it yourself—he even used a forbidden technique to kill me. I had no choice but to defend myself.”
“Right, exactly.” Yun Xiong nodded repeatedly, quickly thinking through the situation. “Don’t worry. We all witnessed it, and we’ll testify for you when we return. And don’t stress about the Third Elder—our master’s got your back.”
Yun Xiong gave Shen Lian a knowing look. Shen Lian nodded slightly, signaling his understanding, though inwardly, he prepared for the worst. He wasn’t one to leave his fate in others’ hands lightly.
For now, staying with Azure Cloud Sect was still crucial for his growth. Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to leave.
“One step at a time. If it comes to it, I’ll have to use that option,” Shen Lian thought to himself, mentally preparing for what might come next.
