I Bind with NP System After Being Abandoned by the 1V1 System - Chapter 37
Xi Yu had already called several times to ask where she was, but she missed every single one. She could imagine how worried he was at home, so she rushed back as fast as she could, urging the driver multiple times along the way.
She hurriedly opened the door and barely had time to look around before a shadow loomed over her.
“Where were you?” he asked in a low voice, and for the first time, she could feel the word “hurt” radiating from him.
“I’m sorry. My professor needed me to run an errand, and my phone died on the way,”
She soothed him with rhythmic pats on his back. She knew how much Xi Yu depended on her, just as much as she did on him.
“There are plenty of power banks in the study,” he said, glancing at the small bag she was carrying. It was tiny, more for fashion than function, so he added, “I’ll have some more practical bags sent over tomorrow. It’ll be more convenient when you go out.”
She kissed him apologetically on the corner of his lips. “Thank you, darling.”
“Let’s eat. I’ll heat up the food.”
He led her to the dining table and sat her down. The dishes were untouched, and the chair across from her was slightly out of place, showing signs of the frustration he must have felt while waiting alone.
Because she didn’t want to be public, he never knew her classmates and teachers. In addition, this school was only for graduate students. It had only been a month since he came here, so he was not familiar with it at all. Even if he was worried, he had no place to find anyone.
As she got lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt a tickling sensation on her calf. Startled, she looked down under the table and realized she had forgotten about the dog at home.
The dog had licked her leg several times, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit disgusted. She quickly grabbed its muzzle and wiped her leg with a tissue.
“Hey, are you that hungry? What’s so great about my leg? Shoo, shoo!”
Despite her efforts, the dog, weighing a good number of pounds, wouldn’t budge when she pushed it with her hands, so she tried nudging it away with her foot. But the dog seemed determined to stay close, grinning with its tongue hanging out as if it thought she was playing with it.
“Alright, alright, are you hungry? I’ll get you some food,” she said, getting up and leading the dog to the balcony. The dog was so picky that it had only slept on the bedroom balcony since it arrived, so they had to move all its stuff there.
Shi Qi followed her obediently, wiggling its butt as it walked close to her legs.
Once on the balcony, she opened a small cabinet to find a suitable can of food, reading each label carefully while letting the dog continue to lick her leg.
But suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her leg. When she looked down to swat the dog away, she found that instead of a dog, there was now a naked man lying on the ground.
“Ah!”
She screamed and yanked her leg out of his grasp, nearly knocking over a nearby flower stand.
Although her mind quickly processed that this was a shapeshift, her eyes still found it hard to believe.
Especially since seeing a man in that position, mimicking a dog’s stance, was really jarring.
So, there she was, staring at a man squatting with his legs spread wide, arms straight on the ground like a dog.
Without the cover of thick fur, the sight of his c🔥ck and two t🔥sticles was too obvious. They moved slightly with each breath he took, and Jiang Zhi couldn’t help but stare.
There was no way Xi Yu couldn’t have heard the commotion, so it wasn’t long before his voice came from the doorway.
“Zhi Zhi, what’s wrong?”
His question snapped her out of her fear and panic. She quickly grabbed the man’s arm and shoved him behind the curtains. When Xi Yu entered, she stood in front of the curtains with a stiff smile and explained, “Nothing, just a bug outside the window scared me. But it’s gone now.”
