After spending the entire afternoon curled up on the couch with Xi Yu, shopping for pet supplies, Jiang Zhi completely forgot about the two wild men outside who needed her attention.

He nodded slightly, still focused on the meeting. Most of his attention remained on the work at hand until she pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down when he had thought she would go out. He then picked up his phone and typed a message to her: [What’s up? Do you need to talk?]

Jiang Zhi knew that if she answered yes, he would pause the meeting to listen to her, but that wouldn’t be as fun.

So, she shook her head and replied in the chat, [No, I just want to keep you company. Don’t worry about me, just focus on your work.]

She knew this was somewhat of a polite gesture, but when she realized that he was truly able to focus on his work without even glancing at her, she felt a bit annoyed.
