Chapter 40: (200 Thunder Bonus) Oii…

Fitzgerald rushed back not because he believed Zelda’s mental illness had miraculously cured itself overnight, but primarily because he suspected someone had healed Zelda and deceived her into taking such actions.

Unfortunately, since Fitzgerald had called Zelda multiple times before his return, Yunxi had long received news of his impending arrival.

After squeezing one last bit of luxury from the five-star hotel—even devouring all the complimentary meals—Yunxi fled overnight with Sigma, Gogol, the White Whale, and Hermann (who claimed extensive knowledge of the White Whale and methods to make it obediently serve as the [Sky Casino]).

Thus, when Fitzgerald returned to North America, he found no trace of Yunxi. Instead, he was immediately grabbed by the ear and severely lectured by Zelda.

Zelda: Who told you the [Book] could resurrect the dead? Who told you the [Book] was in Yokohama? Who told you the ‘Man-Tiger’ was the [Book]’s beacon? Who told you the [Book] would appear if Yokohama was destroyed?

Fitzgerald meekly: [Rats in the House of the Dead]…

Zelda waited, but no other organization names followed. This made her even angrier.

Zelda: And you believed that?!

Fitzgerald (ears hurting but not daring to use his Special ability to strengthen himself): .

Hadn’t he been desperate to find any way to restore Zelda’s health?

But since Zelda now seemed genuinely cured, who was the one who made her abandon her previous obsession? Had they taken all his money?

Zelda seemed to read his confusion and gestured for him to check online public opinion.

Fitzgerald obediently looked.

Clicking on the top trending topic, he found a video.

The first half showed covert footage of a black-haired teenager. The teen stormed into Fitzgerald’s company, and half an hour later, he left. Another half hour later, Fitzgerald’s senior executives followed, bruised and battered.

The second half provided textual explanation: the day after this incident, employees at Fitzgerald’s company received raises, and many anti-worker policies were revoked. Employees reasonably speculated the teen belonged to an American labor union and expressed immense gratitude.

Fitzgerald: ???

Wasn’t the money from him? Who were they thanking?

Scrolling down, Fitzgerald saw comments noting the teen looked familiar—resembling the figure enshrined in the Nameless Organization’s Imperial Ancestral Temple, open for public visitation.

Nameless Organization…? Fitzgerald frowned slightly.

Wasn’t that organization just a joke?

Reading further, he realized something even more terrifying.

Whether the Nameless Organization was a joke no longer mattered.

What mattered now was that Fitzgerald’s ordinary employees had somehow become disloyal, flooding the internet with posts like [ (Imperial Ancestral Temple check-in photo.jpg) Master Yunxi’s grace illuminates all of America (hands) (hands) ] and [Support Master Yunxi’s rule over America].

Zelda’s voice echoed eerily at that moment: See clearly how easily your employees can be bought off now. You’re holding onto the money so tightly, but have you considered that while you’re over there fighting so intensely, your employees’ years of hard work might just go down the drain?

With North America in this state, you’re running off to Yokohama searching for that [Book] that might not even exist?!

Fitzgerald, who had started getting hit on the head by Zelda again: Ouch! Zelda! That hurts!

When did Zelda become so fond of physical violence? Who did she learn this from?

Zelda naturally learned it from Yunxi.

During her few days with Yunxi, Zelda had realized that with many people, talking alone isn’t enough – you need to supplement it with fist-to-flesh techniques.

If the other person still doesn’t understand? Well, that doesn’t matter anymore, she’d already gotten her satisfaction from hitting them.

Deep beneath the Pacific Ocean, inside the White Whale’s belly, Yunxi was discussing with Herman how to make the White Whale happily take up its duties.

To be honest, Yunxi originally didn’t want to bother with so much. If possible, he’d rather exploit the White Whale to work 24/7 for him. But the White Whale now belonged to Yunxi, and Yunxi could communicate with it mentally, while the White Whale could also communicate back with Yunxi. The White Whale kept crying, and Yunxi genuinely couldn’t handle it.

After all, the White Whale was huge, and its decibel level was high too. When it cried, how was it any different from having a spoiled child living in Yunxi’s head?

But Herman didn’t know this, so he simply thought Yunxi was purely a good person.

Thus, Herman cooperated exceptionally throughout, not only revealing all of the White Whale’s preferences but also stating that the White Whale was actually very gentle and people-friendly. As long as it was given enough freedom and no physical modifications that would damage its body were made, no matter how many people went aboard or what they did, the White Whale would accept it all.

After listening, Yunxi understood.

So we just need to give the White Whale two days each week to frolic freely?

Quite reasonable – even regular workers need two days off per week.

By the way, does it mind having people on it while it’s frolicking? Yunxi asked, remembering something.

Herman hesitated: It doesn’t mind that, but… With the White Whale twisting and turning, could anyone really stay on it?

Yunxi interrupted: As long as it doesn’t mind. Gamblers don’t need to live so comfortably anyway. Perfect timing – I have some spare money, so the [Sky Casino] can start preparations. Hmm… let’s open next week. Sigma will be the casino manager – it can serve as a gift for Sigma’s three-month anniversary of knowing me!

Sigma, who had been listening nearby: ???

Gogol suddenly leaned over: Gambling techniques? This clown can teach you that! After all, clowns are magicians!

Sigma got startled again by Gogol’s sudden appearance. After collecting himself, he immediately retorted: Running a casino requires more than just that, doesn’t it?

Yunxi also leaned over, his expression serious: Correct. Running a casino not only requires proficiency in gambling techniques but also learning how to deal with troublemakers with decisive methods. But no problem, Sigma, I’ll teach you that aspect!

Sigma: .

Sigma freaked out: That’s not all either!

Ahem. Seeing the situation getting increasingly chaotic, Herman finally spoke up: In this regard, perhaps I know a thing or two.

Sigma: !!!

This old gentleman really seems much more reliable!

If he had to be forced into this, he’d rather learn under old man Hermann!

The rejected Yunxi and Gogol: …

Yunxi chose to compromise: Fine then, Korya and I will handle the renovations and hiring!

This time, Sigma had no reason to refuse, so he nodded.

Fortunately, Yunxi and Gogol seemed unusually reliable for once. Soon, everything was ready—the White Whale returned to the sky, and Sigma’s [Sky Casino] officially opened for business.

Sigma looked at the newly hired staff, the perfectly renovated interior of the White Whale, and the boundless sky outside, feeling certain he was about to achieve great things at the [Sky Casino].

But no matter what, as the manager of the [Sky Casino], Sigma couldn’t just leave the guests to their own devices.

So, struggling to hold onto a nearby pillar, Sigma made his way out of his office area amid the White Whale’s rollicking tumbles and arrived at the guest area.

He saw that the casino patrons had been rendered half-dead from being tossed around like laundry in a washing machine for so long. In the corridors, people kept losing their balance, falling with cries of Holy cow!—though these exclamations grew progressively weaker, as if the guests were running out of steam.

The few who remained somewhat alert were probably the ones at the Rotating Sushi section.

But these guests weren’t energetic by choice—their seats were moving, spinning them around the sushi counter faster and faster. They were trapped on a high-speed conveyor belt with no brakes, screaming in terror.

Sigma closed his eyes, then opened them again, but the scene before him hadn’t changed at all.

His guests were genuinely oiiaioooooiai-ing.

Sigma: .

Sigma grabbed his hair in despair with one hand.

How on earth do you stop these chairs?! If they didn’t stop soon, his guests were going to become part of the rotating sushi!!!

Unfortunately, Sigma stubbornly searched for a solution until closing time but found none. In the end, the White Whale simply stopped on its own, having tired itself out from playing.

After this nightmarish Saturday, the guests left the [Sky Casino] with ashen faces and trembling legs.

The other tables’ guests departed first, while the Rotating Sushi guests had to wait—their section kept spinning for another ten-plus minutes before finally stopping.

The Rotating Sushi guests’ hatred for Sigma seemed palpable; Sigma half-expected them to charge at him any second. But as soon as one of them pulled out a weapon, they nearly vomited from the mere act of stepping forward.

In the end, the Rotating Sushi guests also left, trembling.

But it didn’t end there. After stewing all night, the next day, the Rotating Sushi guests returned with their gangs for revenge.

Unfortunately, it was the White Whale’s day off, so they were spun around again and again and again.

Accompanying their screams was the White Whale’s cheerful, delighted calls.

The guests: …

Damn it, this [Sky Casino] must be doing it on purpose!!!

When the White Whale finally stopped, Sigma waited anxiously, but the guests—faces dark with fury—said nothing. They didn’t order their lackeys to seek revenge, merely hobbled away miserably, supporting each other.

Sigma had no idea what these people were thinking, but when Monday came, he simply opened the doors to test the waters. Finding no one causing trouble, he only hesitated briefly before resuming business as usual.

This was his Sky Casino! How could he close shop over such a minor issue?!

Another week passed, and the new wave of customers went through the same experience.

The customers—especially those in the Rotating Sushi section—thought:

Is this some kind of obedience training devised by the Sky Casino?

Fine, they conceded.

Weeks rolled by, and while Sigma still hadn’t figured out how to modify the rotating chairs in the sushi area without alerting Yunxi, the number of customers kept growing, and they became increasingly self-disciplined.

They would visit from Monday to Friday, take weekends off, and even recommend the place to people they disliked. Those disliked individuals would, in turn, recommend it to others they disliked… creating an endless cycle.

Sigma: ?

Sigma didn’t understand it, but as long as the customers didn’t mind, he was fine with it.

After all, the Sky Casino’s revenue kept rising—that was a good thing.

So, Sigma finally gave up on modifying the rotating chairs in the sushi area and shifted his focus to refining the casino’s rules and regulations.

But as he worked on improvements, new issues emerged.

First, it’s important to know that aside from Sigma, all the casino employees were former members of organizations Yunxi had dismantled. They had joined the Sky Casino semi-forcedly, mainly to keep their social security contributions uninterrupted.

As everyone knows, ordinary casinos don’t provide social security for employees, so none of the Sky Casino’s staff had prior casino experience—naturally, there wasn’t a single employee skilled at cheating.

How could this do?!

Sigma began offering high rewards to recruit seasoned casino professionals. But such experts could earn money easily and were extremely scarce, unlikely to readily accept employment at the Sky Casino.

Sigma also didn’t dare recruit openly, worried that customers might see it and form a poor impression of the Sky Casino.

While Sigma was still fretting, Yunxi, upon hearing about the situation, volunteered to take on the task.

Yunxi: “Don’t worry, Sigma! I’ll definitely catch—no, hire—a suitable employee for you!”

Sigma watched helplessly as Yunxi dashed off.

He glanced at the customers, who had been tamed into docility by the twice-weekly rotating casino, then back at Yunxi’s retreating figure.

Sigma murmured, “It should be… fine, right?”

If Yunxi dared to go, he must have been prepared!

And indeed, Yunxi was prepared and had already chosen his target.

ACE, the new executive of the Port Mafia.

Rumor had it that this executive ACE lacked combat skills but was exceptionally skilled at gambling and making money. He had bought his position as a Port Mafia executive with his earnings but didn’t get along with the other executives, often staying on a yacht at the edge of the Port Mafia’s territory…

Yunxi couldn’t think of a more perfect target!

So, on a dark and windy night, with the help of Gogol’s Overcoat, Yunxi appeared directly in front of ACE.

Before the blond man could show surprise, Yunxi deftly flicked a coin into the air.

He asked, “ACE?”

ACE initially wore a look of disdain, but after Yunxi revealed his identity as a Transcendent and he matched Yunxi’s face to someone in the Port Mafia’s intelligence files, his expression gradually turned serious.

Of course, along with it came his surging ambition.

If… if he could use [Jewel King’s Aberration] to control a Transcendent…

Suppressing his excitement, ACE gracefully extended an invitation: Of course. If you wish, I’ll gamble with you as many rounds as you’d like.

The two took their seats, and ACE almost eagerly asked, What would you like to wager?

Yunxi rested one hand on the table while secretly signaling Gogol with the other beneath it, maintaining a relaxed demeanor: Well, since we’re gambling, let’s make it high stakes.

Your life, Yunxi declared arrogantly. How about it? Big enough for you?

ACE, who had assumed the other would wager his own life: Of course it’s big enough… Wait, no.

His life? Was the other party just casually placing ACE’s life on the betting table???

ACE: This violates casino rules…

Yunxi raised a hand, and a small cluster of flames sprouted from his fingertip, instantly transforming into a sharp blade aimed directly at ACE’s left eye.

Yunxi halted the flames less than a centimeter from ACE’s pupil, his tone brimming with novelty: I thought you’d already realized your life belonged to me the moment I stepped onto your cruise ship. Do you still need me to prove it?

Well, if you insist…

Seeing the flames draw closer, ACE stammered: N-No need! I’ll gamble with you right now!

Damn! I thought I’d hit the jackpot, but instead I’ve picked up the King of Hell himself!!!
