Chapter 31: Chapter 31 (Including 4.9k Nutrient Solution Bonus) ^^…

Over here, Yunxi was struggling to deal with the furious Nakahara Chuuya.

Meanwhile, in Yokohama, Fyodor and Dazai Osamu were also perfunctorily handling Shibusawa Tatsuhiko, who wanted to play dress-up games with them.

That’s right, these three had gathered together to perform what seemed like a scripted group meeting.

Fyodor’s reason for coming was simple—after all, he was the one who had lured Shibusawa Tatsuhiko to Yokohama.

Dazai Osamu’s reason was even simpler: his direct boss Mori Ōgai wanted to obtain an ability business license issued by the Supernatural Affairs Division by helping them defuse the time bomb that was Shibusawa Tatsuhiko.

So even though Shibusawa Tatsuhiko sometimes made them speechless, they couldn’t simply choose to leave.

Facing the outfits created by Shibusawa Tatsuhiko, Dazai Osamu and Fyodor exchanged glances for quite a while.

Finally, Dazai Osamu spoke first: What would happen if we don’t wear them?Shibusawa Tatsuhiko wanted to say he would cry, but remembering Yunxi who never internalized his struggles, his words took a turn: I would have my good friend Yunxi-kun take away something that would make you collapse.

That’s right, he could take Dazai Osamu’s ability too—as long as he beat Dazai Osamu half to death and then separated the other’s [No Longer Human] ability.

Dazai Osamu was startled.

While he was still pondering when Shibusawa Tatsuhiko and Yunxi had met, he heard Fyodor say without hesitation: Alright.

Dazai Osamu: ?

Dazai Osamu didn’t understand, but his intuition urged him to agree: I have no problem with it either.

Fyodor immediately showed a disappointed expression: Ah, I thought Dazai-kun wouldn’t mind.

Shibusawa Tatsuhiko also showed a slightly regretful expression.

Dazai Osamu: .

As expected, it must be something truly terrifying!!!

The undercurrents in Yokohama continued to surge, while on the other side, Yunxi had also brought Nakahara Chuuya back to his temporary residence.

Nakahara Chuuya naturally sat down, while Yunxi ran to the kitchen to rummage around.

Hmm… only raw walnuts are left. The mineral water and other drinks and snacks are all gone. Yunxi quickly reached a conclusion. He turned to Gogol, who was leaning against the wall maintaining a considerable distance from Nakahara Chuuya, and said, Korya, go buy some drinks. Any drinks will do.

Gogol: Mhm.

Eat up! Yunxi said generously. Raw walnuts! They’re delicious!

Nakahara Chuuya: …

Nakahara Chuuya looked at this pile of raw walnuts without a nutcracker or any openings, suspecting that Yunxi kept them not because he didn’t want to eat them, but because Yunxi simply couldn’t open them.

Nakahara Chuuya clicked his tongue, but his special ability honestly activated. Dark red gravity ability completely covered the walnuts, and the next second, the walnuts neatly split open.

Yunxi’s gaze instinctively followed.

Eat if you want to. Nakahara Chuuya generously pushed the walnuts toward Yunxi, then asked, So, that Clown is the guy you encountered in Yokohama before?

His hands look much bloodier than many mafiosi’s. Nakahara Chuuya said bluntly. Yunxi, are you staying with him voluntarily?

If not, I can help you…

Yunxi looked up at Nakahara Chuuya with a puzzled expression while cracking walnuts, but before he could say anything, a snow-white figure abruptly appeared beside him.

Little Yunxi, the Clown is back… Hm? Does little Yunxi want walnuts?

As soon as the words fell, a pair of red-gloved hands holding walnuts obtained through spatial transfer appeared right beside Yunxi’s mouth.

Yunxi immediately forgot what he originally intended to say, instinctively sucking the walnuts into his mouth.

After chewing for a while and finishing, Yunxi wanted to speak with Nakahara Chuuya again.

Gogol’s hand came again with another walnut.

Yunxi ate it, opened his mouth again, another walnut came, creating an endless loop.

Yunxi: munch munch munch…

Gogol: [Overcoat] crack crack crack…

Just like that, Nakahara Chuuya watched for a full 20 minutes, only to hear Yunxi say dazedly after finishing the walnuts: Hm, Chuya, I forgot, what were you saying earlier?

Nakahara Chuuya looked at the smiling Clown, then at Yunxi who didn’t seem any smarter after eating all those walnuts.

Nakahara Chuuya said with difficulty: No, nothing.

*

Though he said that, in reality, Nakahara Chuuya still found it hard to trust Gogol.

That evening, using the excuse of having something to discuss with Yunxi, Nakahara Chuuya stayed at this base and even shared a room with Yunxi.

Watching Yunxi help him lay out the mattress, Nakahara Chuuya noticed something before asking his question: Wait, why are there footprints on this mattress?

Yunxi casually flipped the white mattress over, revealing obvious gray footprints on the other side.

Nakahara Chuuya: Although the footprints are smaller, there are footprints on this side too!!!

What exactly had Yunxi done to this mattress… Never mind.

Considering that Yunxi himself seemed to be using the same brand of mattress, likely also with footprints, Nakahara Chuuya endured it.

After Yunxi briefly wiped the mattress and laid out the bedsheet, Nakahara Chuuya finally lay down awkwardly.

With the main light off, Nakahara Chuuya stared at Yunxi’s face half-illuminated by the night light and finally spoke: Yunxi, you know how dangerous your current situation is, right?

Whether it’s the attitude of people here…

Yunxi, who had already closed his eyes, expressionlessly got up, rummaged through the bedside drawer, and threw some documents at Nakahara Chuuya who insisted on having a heart-to-heart instead of sleeping.

Nakahara Chuuya opened them curiously.

Then, for the first time, Nakahara Chuuya clearly understood what Yunxi had done while establishing the [Nameless Organization] in Europe, and how many beer halls this small area actually contained.

Most crucially, the fake identity Yunxi used was actually that of the evil Bai Qilin who initiated indiscriminate attacks during the [Dragon Head Conflict]. Yunxi himself had truly passed through countless dangers without a scratch.

Nakahara Chuuya: …

Well, never mind then.

But that Clown you like, he’s an Esper, right? And the most troublesome kind – a space-type ability user. If you regret it later…

Yunxi expressionlessly got up again, reached out, and pulled out Gogol who had been eavesdropping using his [Overcoat] from behind the curtains where Nakahara Chuuya hadn’t noticed.

Nakahara Chuuya: !

Contrary to Nakahara Chuuya’s expectations, Gogol showed no embarrassment at all. Pretending to be delicate, he let himself be pulled by Yunxi and directly collapsed onto Yunxi.

Nakahara Chuuya wanted to complain, but before he could speak, Yunxi commanded: Korya, take out your phone.

After some rustling sounds from Gogol’s hands, he obediently produced his phone two seconds later.

Yunxi: Open the WeChat app… that’s right. Now let’s play a game – delete me from your contacts, then open the ‘Shake’ feature and see how long it takes to find me through shaking.

Gogol seemed to find this idea wonderfully liberating, so he obediently followed all instructions.

Yunxi gave Gogol a push: Alright, go outside and start shaking.

Gogol exited through the bedroom door and returned to the sofa where he, despite his full 184cm height, had been sleeping curled up.

Chuuya could only see the glowing phone screen shaking in the other’s hand, and the serious expression in his eyes as he stared at the screen.

Chuuya turned his head just in time to hear Yunxi sigh with a helpless laugh: See? Korya’s not very bright – he couldn’t possibly manage without me. Nothing to worry about.

Chuuya turned back and saw the white-haired Clown also smile.

Though he made no sound – the Clown held it in.

Chuuya: …

So who exactly here isn’t very bright??!!

*

The fifteen days passed quickly. Unlike his arrival, Chuuya returned openly and legitimately.

Goodbye Chuya! Yunxi stood on the shore waving vigorously. I haven’t seen Verlaine in so long! Next time you come, bring Verlaine with you!

Chuuya didn’t want to do everything together with Verlaine, but looking at Yunxi’s sparkling turquoise eyes, he still nodded slightly after pressing down on his hat: Yeah, as long as he agrees.

Gogol didn’t speak, but as Chuuya was leaving, he performed a magician’s curtain call bow to Chuuya on the boat.

The only visible golden eye of the clown-dressed man curved into crescent moons, but no matter how you looked at it, it appeared extremely artificial – like an exaggerated performance rehearsed countless times.

Yet it was sufficiently splendid and elegant.

As the audience, Chuuya: …

After spending so long in China with a bunch of straightforward folks, seeing this kind of person always feels so pretentious.

Watching as the boat grew increasingly distant until the people on shore were no longer visible, Chuuya finally left the deck and returned to the cabin.

Then, unusually proactive, Chuuya sought out the officer who had been willing to create a false identity for him and take him to see Yunxi.

Chuuya asked bluntly: After this, is Yunxi going to face danger?

Why would you say that? The officer displayed just the right amount of surprise. Yunxi is extremely powerful – who could possibly pose a threat to him…

Chuuya interrupted irritably: Of course because this wasn’t actually the most appropriate timing for me to visit Yunxi!

These people so cooperatively let him board a ship he normally couldn’t access, then allowed him to spend fifteen full days with Yunxi – it was like…

It was like Yunxi was going to encounter trouble that nobody could solve afterward, so these people wanted him to say goodbye to Yunxi in advance!

The officer: …

Your silence means I’m definitely right. Chuuya tried hard to calm himself. What kind of trouble? If Yunxi and I together…

The officer sighed.

You have the same security clearance level as this matter, so it doesn’t matter if I tell you.

The Savior cannot belong to any single nation, nor be confined to any particular place. Only this can ensure the Savior’s willingness to save the entire world at the final moment. As compensation, we gain greater freedom in various aspects.

That was why this operation existed.

Nakahara Chuuya wanted to say he didn’t understand. So Yunxi was the Savior – but why did these people naturally think Yunxi should sacrifice himself for the world?

Just because they outnumbered him? How was this any different from what the Sheep had done to him back then?

But Chuuya couldn’t immediately find the right words. He feared that once he opened his mouth, he’d start singing No savior from on high delivers, no faith have we in prince or peer like Yunxi had just done.

After finally organizing his thoughts, Chuuya suddenly realized something was wrong. His prepared words took an abrupt turn: Wait, where’s that Esper who can control soil?

Hadn’t that Esper been closely following them when they arrived?

The air remained silent for a long time until the commander spoke again: She’s digging tunnels underground. Once we’ve dug enough, Yunxi can use them to return quickly if he encounters trouble. Just because we can’t interact openly doesn’t mean we can’t operate covertly. This is what you call creating a diversion while advancing secretly.

Besides, who knows if Yunxi will actually die in the end or just escape through the tunnels? Personally and organizationally, we think the tunnel escape scenario is more likely…

Chuuya’s initial grief and anger paused as he took a deep breath.

He completely understood now – Yunxi and these people were clearly cut from the same cloth!!!

These events happening behind Yunxi’s back remained unknown to him for now.

Since there were no immediate ferry schedules from Yunxi’s original island to Yokohama, and flying was too dangerous for someone like Yunxi who couldn’t fly, Yunxi and Gogol were currently drifting slowly toward Yokohama on a rented boat.

Yunxi’s good luck proved effective – the sea remained calm throughout their journey, with perfect sunshine.

After squinting in the sunlight for a while, Yunxi returned to the cabin, pulled out a phone from his pocket, and began playing with it right in front of Gogol.

He casually opened a Chinese forum to see people’s reactions to the changing situation and their opinions about Shibusawa Tatsuhiko’s alternate identity.

Yunxi found the game remarkably intelligent – these ordinary NPCs had actually uncovered clues that Shibusawa Tatsuhiko’s identity was fake, with such meticulous reasoning that Yunxi watched with great interest.

However, these NPCs mistakenly believed Shibusawa was actually from mainland China. To protect this good person from suffering, they fabricated a complete narrative where they claimed to have committed murder witnessed by Shibusawa, while providing evidence that Shibusawa had never visited that province.

The evidence chain was complete, testimonies were compelling, witnesses were numerous, with lawyers and doctors even assisting to perfect the cover story.

Yunxi first marveled at how Shibusawa managed to encounter such excellent NPCs, then forwarded everything to Shibusawa.

Shibusawa: [.]

Shibusawa: [You want them? They’re yours.]

How embarrassing! But I’ll graciously accept! Yunxi quickly bookmarked the post and sent Shibusawa two large heart symbols.

Shibusawa Tatsuhiko’s chat showed typing… for a long time before the message finally appeared before Yunxi: [The stage play in Yokohama is about to begin. If you’re late, I won’t wait for you.]

Yunxi replied: [What should I do then? I’m still waiting for the boat to arrive.]

Shibusawa Tatsuhiko: […]

Shibusawa Tatsuhiko: [Can’t you hurry up?]

Shibusawa’s implication was clearly for Yunxi to find some way to speed up the boat or change the mode of transportation.

But Yunxi didn’t catch on, simply responding: [Understood! (Standing at attention) (Saluting)! (Speed lines) Brother Shibusawa! Your good friend Yunxi is waiting at maximum speed!!! (Speed lines)]

Shibusawa Tatsuhiko: [.]

Shibusawa seemed utterly speechless and completely stopped responding to Yunxi.

After waiting a while with no new messages, Yunxi naturally exited the chat interface and began scrolling through other forum posts, casually liking several posts praising Shibusawa Tatsuhiko’s fake identity as an expert roamer.

Gogol wrapped himself in his Overcoat, maintaining his Special ability throughout, steering the boat with one hand while watching Yunxi browse forums with his head turned.

Seeing Yunxi argue with Shibusawa earlier, Gogol could still chuckle along, but watching Yunxi get increasingly absorbed in the forum – even arguing with disagreeable netizens until being chased with insults [With your IP address, even the yellow croakers in the East Sea can post messages?] – finally made Gogol show a confused expression.

Gogol teleported his head out to glance at the sky, then at the endless sea, before teleporting back: Little Yunxi, is there signal out here on the ocean?

Yunxi replied naturally: Oh, theoretically there shouldn’t be.

Gogol: Then now…?

Gogol: .

Gogol: ?

Nearly another day passed before Yunxi and Gogol finally reached Yokohama.

Yunxi: There aren’t even guards along the coast? Is entering Yokohama always this smooth?

Yunxi scanned the Yokohama shoreline before being the first to disembark, stepping into the white mist covering the entire city.

[Between Tatsuhiko] took effect on Yunxi, but it wasn’t a big issue. Yunxi raised his hand, skillfully burning away his own seesaw and similarly incinerating the separated Special ability [Overcoat] from Clown.

With their Special abilities restored, the two began heading purposefully toward the location Shibusawa had last sent Yunxi.

Along the way, Yunxi checked the time on his phone.

Realizing he was a full three days later than the time agreed upon with Shibusawa, Yunxi said guiltily: Am I a bit too late? Would Shibusawa-kun be angry?

Gogol teleported in short bursts using [Overcoat], laughing twice: It should be fine, right? Once Shibusawa-kun meets his ‘angel’ he won’t remember little Yunxi anymore!

Looking at the distant Shibusawa who had grown strange dragon horns and was wrestling with a White Tiger while occasionally shouting You are my angel!, Gogol added: Shibusawa-kun should be aware of our arrival now, but he shows absolutely no intention of acknowledging us!

But little Yunxi shouldn’t feel sad… little Yunxi? Gogol looked down in confusion, seeing a black-haired youth who was also staring at the White Tiger with sparkling eyes.

The black-haired youth exclaimed with fervor, Felines! Large felines! After being away from that calico cat for so long, I’ve finally found a second one!

The black-haired youth raved madly, Special ability! I’m willing to bet everything I have in exchange for all the fur on this adorable White Tiger!!!

Yunxi’s [Scales of Fate] had already been activated.

Yunxi wasn’t sure if everything he possessed was enough to trade for so much of the White Tiger’s fur, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that the [Scales of Fate] was an extremely overbearing special ability. Even if its owner was destined to lose the bet, it would forcibly seize the opponent’s belongings and place them on its owner until its judgment concluded.

Thus, the White Tiger before the frenzied Shibusawa Tatsuhiko abruptly turned into a hairless cat version.

If the White Tiger, as a special ability entity without human thought processes, was merely confused and enraged, Shibusawa Tatsuhiko’s reaction was like having a bucket of cold water dumped over his head.

Staring at the furless White Tiger before him, Shibusawa Tatsuhiko lasted less than half a second before closing his eyes in agony.

This can’t be right! This hairless cat with white tiger stripes was absolutely not the angel he wanted!!!
