Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Just as Bai Gaoxing rolls up his sleeves, ready to get to work, the audience in the live broadcast room is nearly laughing themselves silly.

【My laughter traveled 200 miles, and the neighbor asked whose goose had gone missing.】

【The goose, goose, goose, goose, goose, goose, it’s killing me!】

【Xiaobai’s expression: Huh? Hmm! Huh!?】

【From calm to furious in just three steps!】

【Half a slice of bread, a slice of bread, a sausage—snap! All gone!】

【If it happened to me again and again, I’d be mad too, but Xiaobai’s mood change is really cute, hahahaha!】

【The fearless seagull is really a rogue! The ones near my house come over and snatch my meat sandwich!】

Yes, while Bai Gaoxing doesn’t spot any cameras behind the house or on the reef with the naked eye, there are always a few that slip through the cracks—like the one positioned from a distance on the opposite side of the reef.

Coincidentally, it records the scene of the seagull ‘visiting for breakfast’ earlier.

Unfortunately, the distance is a bit too far, and they can’t hear what’s being said.

Meanwhile, on this side, Li Pu is busy coaxing his angry little parrot.

“What do you want for breakfast? I’ll make it for you…”

At this moment, Bai Gaoxing isn’t listening. He flails his arms and kicks his legs. “Today, I’m going to teach them why the flowers are so red!”

Li Pu is both amused and exasperated. He frees one hand to rub Bai Gaoxing’s soft hair, thinking that he’ll have to make more delicious food to calm him down.

After a moment, he changes his approach: “They’re probably used to being fed by tourists. When they see food, they come to eat. And…” He pauses. “Seagulls are a protected species.”

Bai Gaoxing suddenly stops struggling.

Li Pu thinks the persuasion has worked and pats his head again.

Bai Gaoxing raises his face and says, “That makes sense. After all, we’re still on a show. It’d be terrible if a guest hit a bird.”

Li Pu: “?”

Why does that sound like it has a deeper meaning?

Sure enough, the next second, Bai Gaoxing starts unbuttoning his shirt. “Humans can’t hit birds, but birds fighting each other is totally fair!”

Li Pu: “!”

For reference, seagulls are medium-sized birds, about 40 cm long with a wingspan of around a meter. Wutong Parrots, on the other hand, have a similar body size and are even heavier.

If it comes down to a fight, the seagull might not have the advantage.

But as Bai Gaoxing’s other half, Li Pu is more concerned about him getting hurt. After all, he won’t be facing just one seagull—there’ll be a whole flock.

…Since Dabai is this mad, the seagulls must have said something pretty nasty, right? Listening to the “ooh ooh oo” calls of the seagulls, Li Pu speculates.

He tightens his hold on Bai Gaoxing, looking around for a way to keep him from charging in. But before he can say anything, the person in his arms suddenly quiets down, pulls out his phone, and starts typing.

Li Pu leans over to check. It’s a search engine.

Bai Gaoxing puts his phone back into his pocket and says, “I looked it up. This type of seagull is a Class III protected species. I’m a Class II protected species. It’s totally normal for a Class II to beat up a Class III!”

Li Pu laughs.

It seems that if he doesn’t stop him now, a fight is inevitable. So he tightens his grip, lifts Bai Gaoxing onto his shoulder, and says, “Let’s go back. The tide’s rising soon.”

“Wait…” Bai Gaoxing still wants to move. His anger has dissipated thanks to Li Pu’s interruption, but he still has to argue back in bird language!

Li Pu pats his waist and gestures toward the opposite side. Three seconds later, the person in his arms immediately stops struggling. With that, he takes a step forward and carries him inside the house.

The bullet comments:

【Damn!】

【Wow! Teacher Li is amazing!】

【Ahhhhhh, he just picked him up! Hehe, is he going to punish Xiaobai for running out on his own? 】

【Good boy, you really worried me】

【To comfort your wife, just hug and coax her. Teacher Li knows what he’s doing!】

【Ugh! He saw us!】

【They must have noticed the camera.】

【If they hadn’t, would we have seen something even better? (rolls happily)】

【Seaside play and beautiful scenery.】

【Did Teacher Li pat Xiaobai’s butt? Hehehe】

【That was his waist! Now Xiaobai’s gone totally quiet and is burying his head like an ostrich, hahaha.】

After the people leave, the reef returns to silence, with only the mournful cries of the seagulls circling overhead.

“Let’s go to the dock to get some French fries.”

At this moment, Bai Gaoxing feels a pang in his chest.

It isn’t until Li Pu brings him back to the little house that he gasps, “Why is there still a hidden camera there!?”

Li Pu only notices it after observing for a while. The camera’s position is quite discreet, so it isn’t easy to spot at first. He reassures Bai Gaoxing: “It’s fine, it can’t record sound from over there.”

“That’s good…” Bai Gaoxing pats his chest, relieved that he hasn’t just turned into a raging bird, or else how could he explain such a bizarre scene?

Would Li Pu end up being mistaken for a magician?

As he mulls it over, Li Pu has already stepped into the kitchen and gestures toward the neatly chopped side dishes. “What do you want to eat?”

Bai Gaoxing hugs him. “Magician Master!”

Li Pu: “?”

After breakfast, each group of guests gets to work preparing for lunch. Taking advantage of the terrain, some collect crabs and conchs, while others spread salt on the mudflats to dig for razor clams.

Naturally, Bai Gaoxing goes fishing.

The Seabird Fishing Platform is located on the rocks behind the house. Before the resort is built, this is the most popular fishing spot, with a very high catch rate.

Following the method taught by others yesterday, Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu bring bait to the fishing platform.

Both wear wide-brimmed sun hats, long-sleeve UV-protection shirts, large sunglasses, and apply sunscreen.

However, the sun by the seaside is scorching, and even with all these precautions, they might still get sunburned.

They decide… or rather, “hope,” to catch as many ingredients for lunch as they can before the sun becomes too harsh.

Even if they only catch a little, it still counts, and after all, lunch can’t be all seafood.

“Let’s put the bait on first, then when we cast the rod…” Bai Gaoxing explains while preparing.

Of course, cameras are set up next to the fishing platform, one for each section, focusing on both the people and their fishing rods.

Each person has a rod, sitting quietly as they wait.

It’s now 7:30 in the morning, and the sea breeze blows over from the distant ocean, carrying a slightly chilly and salty smell unique to the seaside. The wind tousles their hair, especially Bai Gaoxing’s pure white hair, which shines and catches the eye.

But the most eye-catching thing is their remarkable looks under the camera. A casual smile and glance are enough to make people’s hearts race.

【Oh my god, I never thought I’d willingly watch people fish.】

【I thought sitting still would be boring, but turns out it’s a high-definition movie! Xiaobai and Teacher Li look so good, I feel like I could watch them all day.】

【Couples really do start looking alike, prprprpr (silently licking the screen).】

【Is fishing boring? Fishing is great! True fishermen never come back with empty hooks!!!】

Maybe it’s beginner’s luck, but they actually manage to catch something.

“Quick, quick, grab it!” Bai Gaoxing pulls the fishing line back, worried that the big fish will escape.

Li Pu grabs the landing net, skillfully scooping the fish into it and preparing to place it into the bucket.

【Ahhh, they caught a fish!】

The comments are even more excited than they are.

It’s a big one, and the two of them hurriedly hold the wriggling fish down, placing it into the bucket and covering it with a net.

The reason? They’re afraid the seagulls will snatch it away.

By around 10 a.m., the bucket, once empty, is now nearly half full.

The sun has already risen high.

“It’s too sunny, we should…”

“We should go back.” Before Bai Gaoxing can finish, Li Pu responds.

The two exchange a knowing smile, reel in the lines, and leave.

Li Pu carries the bucket, while Bai Gaoxing holds the two fishing rods, walking side by side slowly toward the floating bridge. The floating bridge wobbles slightly as they walk across, ripples spreading beneath their feet, glistening in the golden sunlight. Standing in the shadow of the house, the two seem outlined in a layer of golden light.

【Aww, the feeling of going home together is so warm.】

【I suddenly have the urge to find a quiet place in the mountains and live a slow, peaceful life.】

【My heart is melting, this scene is so beautiful, I wish I could freeze it forever!】

【It’s so sweet, so quiet, so pure… I’m dying of love.】

Soon, it’s noon, and the guests gather at the meeting place.

It’s clear everyone has spent the morning working hard—some smell of the sea, others of mud, and a few still have sand clinging to their feet from their recent foraging.

Duan Yan is one of them. She and Gu Qian have gone digging for clams near the Liuli Coast, close to the mudflats.

Grinning, she holds up her “trophies” and gives them a proud shake. “Look!”

Gu Qian, behind her, adjusts his glasses with a helpless smile.

Tang Yuan and Song Ming have caught many crabs and snails, even some seaweed. Jiang Qingying and Wen Wenhao have used nets to catch some small fish and bring a large bunch of flowers from the flower fields, placing them in an empty glass vase on the dining table.

Cooking is the most important issue.

The program team provides many ingredients, but they have to be processed by the guests themselves—including the freshly caught seafood.

“Who knows how to cook?” Someone asks the crucial question.

Cooking has to be done together, so division of labor is the most important issue. After all… no one wants a meal that will send them running to the bathroom, right?

“I’ll do it.” Li Pu volunteers.

“I remember Teacher Li is really good at cooking, right?” Jiang Qingying smiles, “It must be Teacher Li who cooks at your home!”

Bai Gaoxing nods. “His cooking is really good.” There’s a sense of pride in his words.

“You’re so lucky.” Duan Yan says, leaning on one side.

She has seen Li Pu cook on a variety show before, and the smell is so delicious that it makes the audience unable to sit still, all saying they want to try a bite.

Bai Gaoxing looks a little troubled. “But we can’t eat too much, it’ll make me gain weight.” If I get any heavier, I won’t be able to fly.

“You’re definitely showing off!” Wen Wenhao laughs.

Li Pu has already put oil in the pan. Hearing this, he turns back and says, “Don’t worry about it, eat as much as you want.”

“Aiya.” Jiang Qingying makes a face, “You’re just trying to make us jealous, right?”

“We’re almost full now.” Duan Yan nods.

(translator’s Notes: from eating dog food)

Bai Gaoxing can’t help but laugh, his ears and cheeks turning red.

Aside from Li Pu, Song Ming also says he can cook.

“I’ll join in too.” He starts rolling up his sleeves but is stopped by Tang Yuan, who gently pushes him aside, “Sweetheart, go do something else. Let me show you my cooking skills.”

Song Ming doesn’t object and says to Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing, “His cooking is okay, so I’ll just help with the vegetables.”

It seems like this pair is a strong combo—both can cook!

Bai Gaoxing looks at them with envy, turning to Li Pu with an expectant gaze, “Then I’ll…”

Li Pu stops him by popping a grape into his mouth, “You go wash the scallops.”

“Mm…” Bai Gaoxing pouts, feeling rejected.

He walks to the sink, chewing the grape, completely certain of his fate. After all, he has tried cooking several times before. The results? A burnt pot, a blackened kitchen wall, and smoke so thick the kitchen has been off-limits for a while. Li Pu has gone silent after that disaster, and ever since, he is only allowed to help with prep work.

Well, that’s fine too. Division of labor and teamwork.

Li Pu puts on an apron and takes charge in the kitchen as today’s chef. Tang Yuan assists him, stirring the wok with practiced ease. Jiang Qingying mixes her specialty cold dishes, Duan Yan washes vegetables, and Song Ming picks fresh greens.

Gu Qian and Wen Wenhao, not finding anything to do, go outside to set the table.

Bai Gaoxing squats by the wide wall, staring at a bowl of scallops for a while before picking up the brush and getting to work!

Li Pu’s cooking efficiency is always high, and since he doesn’t have to handle the ingredients himself this time, he works even faster than usual. Before long, the aroma of the food wafts from the pan, making people keep glancing back.

The dish looks great, and just looking at it makes everyone hungry. As the guests can’t resist guessing what it might taste like, Li Pu has already placed a portion onto a plate, using chopsticks to give Bai Gaoxing a piece, “Try it.”

Bai Gaoxing turns around, opens his mouth, and takes a bite. It’s stir-fried with sauce, so fragrant.

“Is it good?” Li Pu asks with a hint of a smile in his eyes.

“So good!” Bai Gaoxing praises enthusiastically.

Li Pu’s feeding is so natural, and Bai Gaoxing accepts it just as naturally. The atmosphere between them is so intimate that it’s as if no one else exists. The guests nearby watch in silence. The comments section starts buzzing again.

【Ahhh, that was such a smooth, effortless feeding!】

【Xiaobai is thriving—he’s being fed in every sense of the word.】

【Teacher Li did that so naturally! They must be like this all the time at home!】

【Meanwhile, the rest of us are just suffering from hunger. 😂】

【I swear, Just  watching them eat is making my mouth water,  I wonder what kind of torment the people in the kitchen are going through.】

Jiang Qingying is the first to lose her composure. “Teacher Li, you can’t just let Xiaobai try it!”

As soon as the words leave her mouth, Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing realize they are still on the show, and feeding and being fed have become second nature.

Li Pu chuckles and passes the plate around. “You should try it too.”

For the rest of the time, Li Pu makes sure Bai Gaoxing tastes each dish. The other guests have already gotten used to it, joking that after Xiaobai fills up on the food, it’ll be their turn.

And indeed, he is getting full.

Bai Gaoxing touches his stomach. With eight people to cook for, Li Pu has made plenty of dishes and has him check the seasoning for each one. The small bites have really added up.

Before long, all the dishes are ready.

Bai Gaoxing takes his bowl and chopsticks, walking to the dining table with Li Pu. The others also bring soup and plates of food, placing them on the table. It looks colorful and very beautiful.

“What are we waiting for? Sit down already~” Duan Yan calls out.

The table is large enough, so the guests sit next to their partners, cozy and close together.

【They’re so close! This seating arrangement is too convenient for couples.】

【It’s so easy to serve dishes and pour drinks~】

“So many dishes!” Wen Wenhao exclaims. “Thank you for your hard work, Teacher Li.”

“What a feast~ I can’t wait.” Jiang Qingying says, glancing at Bai Gaoxing. “Xiaobai, do you get treated like this at home?”

“When I’m at home, we don’t make this many,” Bai Gaoxing can’t help but laugh. “Only during the New Year.”

“Do you cook your New Year’s Eve dinner at home too?” Jiang Qingying looks at him enviously. “That’s so lucky!!”

At this point, Bai Gaoxing remembers all the delicious dishes Li Pu prepared during the New Year. He can’t help but feel thankful for the happy life he is living now.

As expected, during the meal, as the comments predict, everyone serves food to their partners, but only Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu’s interaction is different.

“I’m really full, I can’t eat anymore.” Bai Gaoxing begs, holding his bowl.

Li Pu carefully observes Bai Gaoxing. He knows his partner’s appetite well. Bai Gaoxing has indeed eaten a lot in the kitchen earlier, and he has even drunk half a bowl of soup.

With that in mind, he puts some food into his own bowl, smiling. “Then, if you’re hungry this afternoon, I’ll make more for you.”

Bai Gaoxing nods, but unexpectedly, Jiang Qingying overhears and teases, “Teacher Li is planning to open a little stove for Xiaobai?”

They’re so sweet! As a CP fan, Jiang Qingying is in seventh heaven, wishing she could witness every sweet moment.

Wen Wenhao, familiar with his girlfriend’s preferences, picks up a piece of sweet and sour pork and brings her back to the moment. “Eat your vegetables.”

In the afternoon, they start preparing for the evening’s beach barbecue.

This is the most relaxing segment, as the barbecue will be made with fresh seafood provided by the show’s crew, so the guests don’t need to collect their own ingredients.

During the hottest part of the day, the guests go back to their cabins to rest. When it gets a little cooler, everyone gathers at the beach barbecue location, setting up tables and chairs and preparing firewood for the bonfire.

They just have to wait for the sun to completely set. With nothing else to do, Bai Gaoxing grabs Li Pu’s hand and heads to the beach to collect seashells.

He has been wanting to visit the beach for a long time. The rocky coast near the seabird fishing platform is covered with hard stones and continuous reefs, making it impossible to enjoy the fun of chasing the tide. Now he finally has the chance—how could he not play a little!

Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu walk along the coast, holding hands and walking side by side on the softest sand. The waves wash over their bare feet, only to recede reluctantly, making the whole scene feel gentle and intimate.

【So white.】

【So thin, straight, and beautiful.】

【Pink and soft, so cute.】

【What are you guys talking about?!】

【Teacher Li is pretty fair too, but next to Xiaobai, his pink-and-white skin really stands out.】

【How lucky you are, Teacher Li~~~】

As evening falls and the sky darkens, the sunset is especially beautiful, with warm orange light enveloping them, contrasting against the deep blue sea and sky, making them stand out even more.

At that moment, the sea breeze is strong, blowing their wide beach shorts against their legs, outlining beautiful contours.

“Is that a crab?” Bai Gaoxing, holding a shovel, sees a small moving dot and his eyes light up. He lets go of Li Pu’s hand and runs over.

Li Pu, carrying a small bucket filled with the pretty seashells and hermit crabs he has just collected, follows behind. The shifting contents rustle with each step.

“Look!” Bai Gaoxing holds up the little crab in front of Li Pu, smiling with his eyes squinted. After his efforts in catching it, his hands are covered in fine sand, which only makes his hands appear even whiter and softer.

Li Pu says nothing but looks at him intently. Before the night fully falls, Bai Gaoxing’s beautiful black eyes seem to hold stars.

The air is becoming cooler, and more people are appearing on the beach, leaving traces behind on the previously calm sand.

As they walk, Bai Gaoxing suddenly steps into a pit. Surprised, he staggers to the side, but Li Pu is quick to catch him, holding him steady and asking, “Are you okay?”

It happens so suddenly. Bai Gaoxing leans into Li Pu’s arms, feeling like he is in an idol drama. He pauses for a moment before smiling. “I’m fine.”

Li Pu gently squeezes his shoulder to support him and brushes his disheveled hair to the back of his ear.

The sky is growing darker, and something is stirring between them. They look at each other, seeing something even more beautiful than the fiery sunset in each other’s eyes.

Suddenly, someone calls out to them: “Teacher Li—Xiaobai! Come on, it’s about to start!”

They snap out of it and quickly hurry back.

【Ahhh, I thought they were going to kiss!】

【Is this the real-life married couple vibe…? [Auntie smile]】

When they arrive at the chosen barbecue spot, the bonfire is already set up.

There are other people around, not just their group. Looking around, families and friends have gathered, making the atmosphere lively.

In this scene, they don’t seem so eye-catching anymore.

On the grill, there are fresh octopus and oysters, and next to them, plates are filled with skewered vegetables and meat. The faint smoke rises in the air, mixing with the enticing aroma.

The noise is a bit loud, but perfect for chatting.

Gu Qian and Song Ming are grilling skewers in front of the grill, while the others sit around the bonfire. Jiang Qingying rests her chin in her hands, looking at Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing, unable to stop herself from laughing.

“What’s so funny?” Duan Yan glances at Jiang Qingying and then at the people she is looking at, and can’t help but smile.

“Shipping CP,” Jiang Qingying finally admits she is a CP fan. She takes out a pen and a small notebook from her bag. “I’ve been meaning to ask, but I’ve been too shy…” She clears her throat. “Can I get your autograph?”

Bai Gaoxing blinks in surprise. He doesn’t expect that at all. He glances at Li Pu before nodding. “Okay.”

Jiang Qingying practically squeals with excitement. “Great, great! Write next to each other, okay? And—can you sign as Noah and Adonis?”

Ah, she really is a fan of Casino.

Bai Gaoxing isn’t surprised. Back in college, a classmate also asked for his autograph after watching the show. His other works, however, are usually associated with “Dabai.”

Bai Gaoxing carefully signs his name as “Noah,” while Li Pu writes his name as “Adonis.” Side by side, the two names look especially intimate.

“Xiaobai, your handwriting is so pretty!” Jiang Qingying gushes as she examines it. Then, with a teasing smile, she says, “If we adjust the layout a bit, it could totally be a marriage certificate.”

As they eat and chat, the conversation naturally shifts toward relationships.

Since everyone here is in a relationship, gossip about how they met quickly becomes the main topic.

“Ah Ming and I…” Tang Yuan recalls. “Actually, we met before that show. It was pouring that day, and I was drenched. Ah Ming picked me up and took me home.”

“Like a big wet dog,” Song Ming adds with an amused smile.

“Oh my god, what kind of romance novel plot is this?!” Jiang Qingying covers her mouth dramatically. “You just picked him up and took him home?”

Song Ming chuckles. “He was carrying a schoolbag with our university’s logo on it, so I knew he was a student there.”

“What about Xiaobai?” someone suddenly asks.

The conversation circles back to him.

Everyone is eager to hear the story behind Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu, saving them for last since it’s Bai Gaoxing’s first time on a variety show.

“How did you two meet?” Jiang Qingying asks, her eyes shining with anticipation.

How they met…

Bai Gaoxing briefly drifts off in thought.

Well, of course, he was directly introduced to Li Pu by his friend, and it turned into a literal “cohabitation” of sorts.

But of course, he can’t answer like that.

Bai Gaoxing clears his throat lightly, looks at Li Pu, and smiles. “Well, I met Teacher Li by chance. After I came back to the country, I didn’t have much to do, so I became his temporary translator.”

Jiang Qingying widens her eyes. “That’s it?”

Bai Gaoxing is candid. “That’s it.”

【Hahahaha, Xiaobai always calls him ‘Teacher Li’ in front of the camera.】

【Young people are just shy. Bet he calls him “baby” in private.】

【Wow, that’s so brief, add some more details!】

【What?! Now I’m even more curious!】

“Teacher Li, don’t you have anything to add?” Jiang Qingying turns to Li Pu.

Li Pu smiles. “That’s about it.”

Bai Gaoxing props his chin and looks at him, suddenly breaking into a smile.

The campfire reflects on Bai Gaoxing’s face, casting a beautiful glow on his pale skin, the flames lighting up his hair with a warm red hue. His dark eyes sparkle, like they’re holding the brightest and most vibrant scene of a midsummer night.

【Wow…】

【I was just about to say how good Xiaobai looks in white, but now I’m speechless—he’s just stunning.】

【Two years passed, Xiaobai has really grown up. He used to be round and cute, now… (lost for words).】

【Now he’s handsome in a beautiful way.】

【Especially when he smiles, with his white eyelashes fluttering, I swear my heart melted!】

Jiang Qingying is also entranced by Bai Gaoxing’s looks. She has seen plenty of young guys with colorful hair, but no matter how carefully groomed, their hair still looks a little rough from the various treatments. But Bai Gaoxing’s white hair is smooth and shiny, and the bright color doesn’t feel out of place at all. It’s perfect for the camera.

She really wants to keep looking at him!

“Xiaobai, after graduation, are you planning to enter the entertainment industry?” Jiang Qingying asks. “‘Casino’ was your first project, right? You’ve got so much potential, you’ll definitely get even better in the future!”

Upon hearing this, the guests finally realize: Bai Gaoxing is still in college!

He’s the only student among them and will only be a third-year after the summer break.

So young.

“Well…” Bai Gaoxing looks at Li Pu. “I probably won’t? My current plan is just to study, hahaha.”

He really hasn’t thought about entering the entertainment industry. His time as a parrot doing live streams is just to kill time and entertain himself. If facing the camera becomes his job, he won’t enjoy it as much.

“Ah, that’s such a pity.” Jiang Qingying truly feels sorry. From Casino, it’s clear that Bai Gaoxing has a natural talent for acting, and hearing that he mostly did one-takes leaves her in even more awe.

She looks at Bai Gaoxing’s gaze falling on Li Pu and says, “Could it be that Teacher Li doesn’t want you to?”

Li Pu smiles and says, “Whatever he chooses, I’ll support him.”

The entertainment industry is indeed more turbulent than it appears on the surface, but as long as Bai Gaoxing is willing, there’s no reason not to.

Ah, how wonderful. Jiang Qingying once again has that lovesick look on her face.

【Qingying’s always first to eat dog food.】

【You know what she asks, it’s just all dog food [dog head]】

【Really want to see more of Xiaobai’s work~~ But not entering the entertainment industry is fine too, being a public figure is such a hassle.】

【Can you release more videos though? I love watching them!】

After the barbecue is done, a layer of cumin and chili powder is sprinkled evenly over the food. Bai Gaoxing can’t handle too much spice, and after a few bites, his mouth starts to swell, turning a bit red after drinking some water.

“Eat this.” Li Pu hands him some non-spicy food.

But adding a little spice makes it less greasy. Bai Gaoxing winces a few times. “It’s fine, I’ll just eat a little.”

Li Pu’s gaze lingers on his lips for a long moment before he finally looks away.

After the barbecue, everyone begins to leave. Li Pu takes Bai Gaoxing and walks toward the small cabin.

Full from the meal, they walk back to digest, moving along the quiet road with the sounds of crickets in the background. The bright streetlights illuminate their path, and Bai Gaoxing is lost in thought, staring at his own shadow, when suddenly his hand is grabbed, his face cupped, and a warm, soft kiss is pressed to his lips.

His eyes widen as Li Pu’s face suddenly comes into sharp focus. Alarmed, he shrinks back and glances around. “What if someone sees us?” he whispers.

Li Pu’s voice is low. “There’s no follow-up filming here.”

“Still…” Bai Gaoxing bites his lip, hesitating. “It stings a little.”

His lips, already tingling from the spice, now burn even more. The itchiness is unbearable.

But the moment he says that, he feels Li Pu’s breath deepen.

Not sure which kink he has triggered, Bai Gaoxing pinches Li Pu’s hand. “Let’s go back.”

Once inside, he presses a cold cup against his lips, finally soothing the sting.

Li Pu adjusts the camera and leans in to kiss him.

This time, Bai Gaoxing welcomes it, kissing him several times and lowering his voice. “Is this enough?”

【??? What just happened?】

【Teacher Li, what are you doing!!!】

【Aaahhhhh!!!】

Li Pu chuckles, his voice slow and deep. “Not even close.”

When it’s time to sleep, Bai Gaoxing is already panting but still firmly reminds Li Pu, “We’re still filming.”

“Mm, I know.” Li Pu hugs him. “Just a quick kiss.”

How many kisses was that? You didn’t count!

The air feels thick like honey, and Bai Gaoxing is kissed to the point of exhaustion. He groggily stares at the blurry face in front of him, his head spinning. “Just go to sleep…”

Li Pu carries him to bed and tucks him in.

The air conditioning’s cool breeze is just right, and his sleeping lover lies facing him, defenseless with his eyes closed.

Li Pu leans in again, feeling as if he is facing a treasure. He wants to be closer but is afraid of waking him up.

He gently places a butterfly-light kiss on Bai Gaoxing’s lips, and the next moment, he sees Bai Gaoxing’s head dodge, even in his sleep, pulling the blanket up to cover his face.

He hides.

Li Pu can’t help but smile quietly, watching the sleeping person for a while before turning off the lights.

“Goodnight, baby.”

Sticky and sweet.
