Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Taking advantage of the lingering excitement from their honeymoon, the two lovebirds stick together all the time.

Unfortunately, these days don’t last long, as Bai Gaoxing begins his second semester of sophomore year.

School begins.

Coincidentally, Li Pu doesn’t have any long-term engagements recently, which means he is essentially “keeping an empty house.”

While pulling his suitcase, ready to leave, Bai Gaoxing seems to see both a “pouting” and a “frustrated” expression on Li Pu’s face at the same time.

Putting aside the question of how he can still be frustrated… Seriously, how can such a grown man suddenly become so childish?

Bai Gaoxing finds it amusing and lets go of the suitcase handle. He reaches out to pinch Li Pu’s face and gives him a peck. “I’ll come back every weekend, okay? I’ll come back even during the week if I have time!”

And so, this flag is raised.

This semester’s coursework is heavier than before, the new teachers have strict requirements, and he is also busy with club activities. At the beginning of the semester, he can’t come back during the week, and sometimes even has to spend the weekends in the dormitory.

The original situation of “Li Pu going out and Bai Gaoxing waiting at home” completely reverses.

Lei Li is also deeply affected by this.

During business events and photoshoots, she often catches Li Pu zoning out. And whenever he starts talking, it’s always “Dabai this, Dabai that,” which drives her crazy.

So, the manager slaps her thigh and contacts Bai Gaoxing that day. After obtaining his consent, she selects a variety show from the lineup of upcoming projects.

“Our Romantic Trip.”

A wildly popular reality show focused on couples traveling together. The participants are either married couples, real-life partners, or trending CPs. The timing of the new season happens to align perfectly with Bai Gaoxing’s summer break.

Upon hearing this news, the fans are extremely excited.

【”Ahhhhhh! Are they finally making a comeback?!”】

【The last time I saw them in the same frame was… last time~】

【Putting aside the wedding photos and the wedding itself, the last time they were seen together for work was two years ago in Casino!】

【I really thought they’d be like Xiaobai after marriage—showering fans with presents and sweet moments, but it turned out to be the other way around. Xiaobai was led astray by Teacher Li! My big bowl is so empty and desolate, waaaah.】

【Waaaaah I want to see them being all sweet and loving. I’ll happily eat this dog food!】

Watching the heated discussions online, Bai Gaoxing breathes a sigh of relief in the library and pats his wildly beating chest.

How to put it? He is also extremely looking forward to it.

In the blink of an eye, Li Pu posts on Weibo.

【@LiPu: Looking forward to working with Xiaobai】

Upon seeing this, Bai Gaoxing quickly follows suit:

【@White: It seems like it’s been a long time since I had a work engagement with Teacher Li. Looking forward to it~】

Seeing the two’s Weibo posts, the fans tease them while enjoying the sweet moments.

【You two are quite polite, how long have you known each other?】

【You’re already a married couple, don’t talk so formally! We can understand public displays of affection!】

【Yay, I actually found some sweetness here, a nickname exclusive to the two of them】

【Do you think they actually talk like this in private? I refuse to believe it!”】

【Newbie asking, is there any inside joke here?】

【Xiaobai used to be Teacher Li’s language instructor!】

【Hey hey hey, teacher-student dynamics? This just got interesting.】

Bai Gaoxing browses the netizens’ discussions, his face slightly red. It’s okay to be intimate in private, but public displays of affection… he has never been very good at that.

Even when Li Pu comes to school to see him, they at most walk side-by-side on campus and have brief kisses and hugs in deserted, quiet corners.

Maybe it’s because Li Pu is a public figure. Or maybe he just isn’t used to showing their intimacy outside of their private world…?

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

This description, which perfectly captures the intensity of love, is vividly reflected in the two of them.

Returning home for the first time in the first month of the new semester, Bai Gaoxing deeply understands the meaning of this phrase.

Not to mention being tightly hugged as soon as he enters the door, with the snacks he bought scattered all over the floor—just smelling the faint fragrance on Li Pu’s body makes him feel like his heart is being filled little by little, and his eyes involuntarily become hot.

Li Pu buries his nose against Bai Gaoxing’s neck, as if he wants to drown himself in his little bird’s scent.

Beyond just missing him, he now fully understands what it means to want to pull someone so close they melt into you.

—Yes, in his desperation, Teacher Li has spent the past month easing his longing by reading some… questionable fanfiction.

Just hugging is definitely not enough.

Before he can react, Bai Gaoxing is already enveloped by a more intense atmosphere, kissed until he sways, all the way to the sofa, where he sits on Li Pu’s lap.

When Li Pu leaves those lips, Bai Gaoxing’s eyes are already covered with a layer of mist, staring blankly at him.

Li Pu’s breathing is slightly heavy. He holds the small face, watching the fair cheeks flush red, making them seem even smaller against his palm, appearing even more adorable.

“Baby,” Li Pu’s forehead touches his, his voice low and hoarse, “I missed you.”

Almost the instant the words fall, Bai Gaoxing’s tear-filled eyes suddenly widen, the redness on his face spreading even more obviously. Then, disregarding the weakness in his body, he raises his hand and covers Li Pu’s mouth.

“Don’t call me that…”

Bai Gaoxing thinks his tone is very serious and fierce, but he doesn’t know that because he has just been kissed for too long, his voice now sounds like he’s acting spoiled, and his fingers are also soft and powerless.

Li Pu, unbothered, simply calls out again—this time, even more deliberately.

“I like you. I love you.”

Bai Gaoxing trembles a little.

Actually, Li Pu has called him that once before—during their honeymoon. But after just that one time, Bai Gaoxing had strongly protested, saying that he is more used to hearing him call him “Dabai.”

‘Dabai’ is special. In this world, only Li Pu knows that he is “Dabai” from another world, treating him with the same respect and care as a human. That’s why it feels natural to hear that name from him.

But Li Pu doesn’t seem to think so.

When they are doing it, Bai Gaoxing can tell—just before Li Pu speaks, he hesitates, as if suppressing the affectionate name that is about to slip out.

Yet now, not only has he said it, but he also adds, “Back when you were filming in Xinghuo before, didn’t you say ‘I love you all so much’ on camera? Say you love me too, okay?”

How is that even the same thing?!

Bai Gaoxing feels that Li Pu is becoming more and more difficult to deal with. He clearly wasn’t like this before! Where is the cold male god that everyone else sees?!

Flustered, he turns his face away, his ears burning. His voice comes out husky. “I like you, I love you… whatever. Just—just don’t call me that.”

It’s like setting conditions.

Back when they were on vacation, this trick might have worked—Bai Gaoxing had almost fallen for it.

But now, the same sentence has no effect.

Li Pu smiles, takes his hand, and says as if changing the subject, “Aren’t we going to be on a show together?”

Bai Gaoxing is stunned for a moment. “Huh?”

Li Pu looks at him, his smile deepening. “On the show, how do you want me to call you?”

Bai Gaoxing is dumbfounded.

Li Pu doesn’t speak, stroking Bai Gaoxing’s slender and beautiful fingers, as if patiently waiting for his response.

The manager has also talked to him about this question.

—”What if you slip up in front of others in the future? If you call him ‘Dabai,’ what will others think? That would be too bad, right?”

Of course, the name “Dabai” isn’t Li Pu’s ultimate goal. But since his little parrot is too shy, he has to take things slow.

Li Pu is nothing if not patient, and his reasoning is hard to refute.

Bai Gaoxing wavers.

It’s true—they need a name for him in front of others.

Bai Gaoxing thinks for a moment, and a flash of inspiration strikes him. He thinks it’s a great idea: “Then you can call me ‘Husband’?”

Li Pu’s smile widens.

Suddenly feeling a sense of danger, Bai Gaoxing chickens out and shrinks back. “W-We can discuss it later!”

But he is still sitting on Li Pu’s lap. There is nowhere to retreat.

Suddenly, his movements freeze as something presses against him, making him afraid to move again.

Li Pu rests his head on Bai Gaoxing’s chest. He has already reacted to those two words. The word has already taken root in his mind, and the more he thinks about it, the more he likes it.

After a round of tugging and pulling, they reach the stage of experiencing the pet name.

The precarious situation makes Bai Gaoxing nervous. His heart pounds, and he instinctively wraps his arms around Li Pu’s neck, his legs tensing as if to push himself up.

They have never been in this position before. Well—Li Pu has considered it during their honeymoon, but Bai Gaoxing rejected it outright.

“N-no…”

Bai Gaoxing frowns, torn between pushing away and bracing himself.

He can’t go any further down. He has reached his limit no matter what. He begins to beg for mercy, trying to stop this experiment.

But Li Pu only responds in a calm, unwavering voice.

“It’s okay, take a little more.”

He holds Bai Gaoxing’s legs firmly, guiding him down in one smooth, controlled motion.

And just like that, Bai Gaoxing is completely eaten up.

Tears well in Bai Gaoxing’s eyes, spilling over uncontrollably. Shock and panic fill his gaze, his voice trembling. “Very impressive.”

Li Pu chuckles lightly, kisses Bai Gaoxing’s ear, and praises in a hoarse voice, “Baby, you’re amazing.”

A violent shiver runs through Bai Gaoxing, a tingling sensation spreading from the base of his spine to the top of his head, making even his scalp go numb. Instinctively, he shrinks back.

A suppressed sigh brushes against his ear. Then, his vision flips.

He covers Li Pu’s mouth again, but Li Pu easily brushes it away, instead pressing it down tightly, deliberately calling him “Baby” and “Sweetheart” in his ear, making him cry from shame.

I don’t want to deal with him anymore.

Pulling away the damp pillowcase, Bai Gaoxing curls himself into a ball. The lingering echoes of that voice still ring in his ears, and his cheeks remain flushed.

Spring is coming.

The weather begins to warm up, and the air seems to be filled with a vibrant scent, the fresh vitality brought by the budding of plants.

They have done it too many times during their break, and Bai Gaoxing has a sinking feeling that his estrus period is arriving early.

Every spring, he endures an excruciating time. His instincts push him to seek relief, and his mate is always more than willing to accommodate him. But his body simply can’t keep up.

However, no matter how much he can’t take it, he can’t bear the fiery restlessness that seems to extend from his body.

It’s still very early, the sky is faintly bright, and Li Pu is still asleep.

But Bai Gaoxing is already awake. He can’t sleep. He looks at the ceiling for a long time, licks his dry lips, and slowly sits up, gazing blankly at the handsome sleeping face next to him.

Thinking about what delicious breakfast he can have this morning, he is already very hungry.

After a long while, Bai Gaoxing shrinks back into the quilt. The bulge in the quilt slowly moves and finally overlaps with Li Pu.

Li Pu wakes up.

There has been quite a bit of movement. Feeling the sudden weight pressing on him, he lowers his gaze—just in time to see a head pop out from under the blanket, resting on his chest.

“You’re awake?” The other party smiles, his eyebrows curved, completely unaware of how alluring this scene is.

Li Pu sighs inwardly before pulling him into his arms without hesitation.

The morning “flag-raising ceremony” has arrived right on schedule, and Bai Gaoxing takes full advantage of it. He straddles Li Pu, intent on draining him dry during this particularly intense period, hoping to avoid suffering later.

But he miscalculates.

From taking the initiative at the beginning to being unable to sit still and becoming passive later, he is held and swayed back and forth, his whole person like a stuck card, unable to struggle free no matter what. So he can only completely relax—only to find himself sinking even deeper, as if they have explored a place that is too far.

Crystal-clear tears slide down his cheeks and drip onto Li Pu’s toned abdomen. Li Pu lifts himself up and kisses away the fresh tears still rolling down Bai Gaoxing’s face.

“What’s wrong with you?”

In the library, Wang Xue looks at Bai Gaoxing in amusement. “You’ve yawned more than a dozen times since this morning. Got a case of the Monday blues?”

“Ha… didn’t sleep well.” Bai Gaoxing yawns again.

“Juan’er, where did you get this book?” Yan Ming asks, poking his head over.

Yang Juan raises his eyebrows. “Just picked it up randomly. Are you reading it?”

Bai Gaoxing glances at the cover. Spring is Coming: The Natural Development of the Season.

His mouth opens halfway—then quickly snaps shut as if nothing has happened.

Spring is terrifying.

Author’s Notes:

Just ate something casually. I had lemon chicken feet tonight (nodding)

This is a cheesy corny extra chapter—so greasy, greasy, greasy.
