Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

“Wow… I don’t expect Teacher Li to be so playful.”

“Yeah… I don’t know Li Pu is so shy yet flirty.”

“Looks like picking someone up really works; I want to try it too.”

“Hahahahahahahaha!!!”

“Wait, did he really come up with this script? I don’t believe it!”

“It must be the company’s doing. Which genius made me laugh so hard, getting Teacher Li to go along with it.”

“I can’t believe we get to see Li Pu being so lively! In my lifetime!”

“……”

After the latest work is released, Li Pu’s fans flock in, expressing their feelings one after another. In just a few hours, the comment section of the new video nearly surpasses that of the old one.

Who is Li Pu? In the eyes of fans, he’s always the serious, dedicated one at work, aloof and quiet in life—like a male god.

It’s this very person who suddenly acts playfully one day, causing shock akin to Mars hitting Earth.

Some people are thrilled to see it, while others are horrified. Therefore, the comments divide into three camps: one group believes Li Pu himself is responsible, another group thinks the company created it, and a third group says it doesn’t matter who did it; they’re just grateful!

It’s quite a spectacle.

At this moment, the “person” who causes this spectacle stares blankly at the comments refreshing in real time.

…If he had another chance, he’d rather risk being discovered than send the video directly.

Bai Gaoxing watches another person sigh, praising Li Pu for being so playful, and his expression gradually cracks.

It’s over; he seems to have unintentionally skewed Li Pu’s reputation.

It’s all because of the bug in this machine!

Bai Gaoxing raises a paw to tap the screen, and the bright light of the screen lights up.

It’s three o’clock in the morning.

Once again, he takes his previous measures, waiting for the man to fall asleep before sneaking out of Li Pu’s bedroom and secretly going online.

It’s too tough; he never worked this hard in high school.

Bai Gaoxing sheds a bitter tear for himself. After thinking for a long time, he can’t find a good solution, so he decides to set the matter aside for now, planning to find an opportunity to make amends later.

—Fortunately, he’s fat enough to cover two-thirds of Li Pu’s face!

After turning off the screen, he tiptoes back to his cage and snuggles closely with the small wing decorations on the flying rope.

This is what he looks forward to now!

After a night passes, Li Pu wakes up on time. When he walks into the living room, he notices that one end of the flying rope that was originally draped over the top of the cage has been pulled inside, and his parrot is cuddled up against the rope, sleeping and occasionally smacking its lips as if talking in its sleep.

“Time to get up.”

He walks over and knocks on the cage, watching as the parrot suddenly wakes up, turns its head in a daze, and then jumps out with the rope in its mouth.

“Go out and play!” the big white parrot calls excitedly.

“Yeah, go out and play,” Li Pu responds, looking at the clear sky outside. “Today’s weather is perfect.”

This counts as an agreement.

Bai Gaoxing watches eagerly as Li Pu rolls up the flying rope and waves at him.

He hurriedly gets out of the cage, not caring about the feathers getting scratched in the process, and puffs out his chest to let Li Pu put the vest on him.

“Lift your claws… wings… and it’s done.”

Li Pu quickly puts the vest on Bai Gaoxing, gently smoothing the ruffled feathers with his fingers. He adjusts the small wing decoration on the back to the center, then steps back to take a look.

“It’s okay.” He nods slightly.

Bai Gaoxing feels a bit dazed as he looks down at the strap across his chest, realizing it’s quite dazzling.

Wait, do I really have to wear pink?

He thought yesterday was just a fitting!

Bai Gaoxing clearly remembers that among the five ropes, the other four are all in cool colors—black, gray, red, and blue. Why does he have to wear this pink one?

He looks up at Li Pu and finds the man wearing a very calm expression, as if he’s serious.

Determined to fight for himself, Bai Gaoxing hooks his claws on the strap and pulls it.

“No, no!”

Li Pu doesn’t understand why the parrot that cooperated so well yesterday is suddenly acting rebellious today, but he quickly steps forward to hold him down and says firmly, “You can’t go out without wearing this; if you don’t want to wear it, then you can’t go out.”

He assumes the parrot doesn’t like being restrained.

Bai Gaoxing hesitates for a moment, realizing the man’s misunderstanding, and quickly changes his approach. “I don’t like it; let’s change it!”

Li Pu pauses, first picking up the leash, then looking at the balcony, saying to Bai Gaoxing, “So, do you want to go out or not?”

On the balcony, four freshly washed flying ropes flutter in the breeze.

Bai Gaoxing immediately behaves, leaning his head against the back of Li Pu’s hand. “Get out!”

…

Jiangcheng Pet Culture Park.

As a city with a leading level of economic development, Jiangcheng has a wide range of public green spaces for various purposes. Among them, the Pet Culture Park was built in recent years and has become quite popular among young people and retired elderly people.

Here, people can walk their pets.

Unlike ordinary parks that have been strictly managed since the city’s construction, the Pet Culture Park allows pets and is situated very close to the surrounding residential areas. Over time, it has attracted many visitors—those with pets walk them, while those without come to pet them. The atmosphere is peaceful.

The great thing about this park is that you can see all kinds of pets here.

When Dabai follows Li Pu out of the car, he spots a huge turtle lying in the nearest natural rock landscape pool, surrounded by several old men chatting. The old men also hold cages containing starlings or mynah birds in their hands.

Looking further in, you can see bird cages hanging on short trees, with birds chirping in low or clear voices.

Bai Gaoxing huddles obediently on Li Pu’s shoulder. To be honest, he feels quite nervous. The chirping that sounds pleasant to others carries different meanings for him.

“Let me tell you! My master bought perfume again a few days ago! I really want to die from that smell!”

“Woo wow—the little master cub at home is so cute! I really want to feed him!”

“Tell me quickly! What about the day you saw a man hanging from the balcony, completely naked!”

“Hmph, you mediocre birds won’t understand. Every year, someone brings my master good cigarettes, fine wine, and oh~ money.”

Bai Gaoxing: “…”

Ah, is this what it feels like to enter adult society?

He doesn’t want to listen!!!

Bai Gaoxing suddenly realizes that this park is a complete intelligence station for him. The birds have no sense of privacy, and anyone would explode if they heard this.

Fortunately, people can’t understand.

Bai Gaoxing’s heart pounds wildly, and then he looks at Li Pu beside him and pats his shoulder.

Don’t worry, I won’t tell the other birds about you.

Li Pu feels the movement on his shoulder, turns his head slightly, and touches the parrot’s slightly cool claws. “Don’t be afraid.”

I’m not afraid! It’s you who shouldn’t be afraid!

ai Gaoxing takes a deep breath, flaps his wings, and prepares to start a new social platform.

Li Pu still covers his face today, wearing a mask and a hat. Even with such tight covering, he isn’t very conspicuous among the crowd.

There are plenty of elderly men and women in hats, people in masks going for walks, and young people who want to pet cats, dogs, and birds but are wary of fur.

However, Li Pu’s tall figure and handsome face, no matter how much he tries to conceal them, already attract the attention of some people. Not to mention, the big white parrot on his shoulder is strikingly beautiful, creating a particularly eye-catching contrast.

As a result, after just a few steps, Li Pu, who plans to head deeper into the park, finds himself surrounded by several young people.

“Hello?”

Li Pu stops and looks at them. They each have a bird with them, and he nods in acknowledgment. “What’s up?”

The girl at the front looks a bit shy. “Sorry, we thought your parrot was so beautiful, we just wanted to come and take a closer look.”

Nestled in her long hair is a fluffy, ball-like monk parrot, pecking at her hair as if trying to make a nest there.

Bai Gaoxing observes this parrot curiously, noticing that it doesn’t talk to him but instead hums, “Mama, I’m hungry” in a whiny tone.

“What’s its name?” the girl asks. “Is it a cute girl?”

“It’s called Dabai,” Li Pu replies. “He’s male.”

“Ah.” The girl covers her mouth in surprise. “I saw he was wearing pink, so I thought he was a little female bird.”

Bai Gaoxing kicks Li Pu. Look!

Noticing Bai Gaoxing’s displeasure, the girl smiles and tries to comfort him. “It’s okay; boys can look very manly in pink too…”

Her voice trails off, and she finally sighs, “Okay, you are the cute type.”

Bai Gaoxing: “…”

Thank you, but please don’t say any more!

Through their conversation, Bai Gaoxing learns that this group of young people are students from a nearby university. They have no classes today and have come out to relax. Since they all have parrots, they decided to meet up and stroll through the park together.

“We usually go to the bird area to let our parrots fly around.” Hearing that Li Pu has brought a parrot out to play, a boy suggests, “There’s mostly grass over there, and the trees are short, so it’s pretty open. There’s a low chance of a bird flying up a tree and not coming back.”

He pauses, adding, “Plus, it’s far from the cat and dog area, so you don’t have to worry about anything pouncing on it.”

Bai Gaoxing looks in the direction the boy is pointing, where the so-called cat and dog area bustles with activity. Large, medium, and small dogs are being walked, gathering in groups, with most running freely.

A frisbee whizzes through the trees, and a few dogs bolt after it like arrows, one of them leaping up and biting down hard on the frisbee!

Hiss.

Bai Gaoxing shrinks back slightly, feeling as if he’s the one being caught.

“Hmm,” he hears Li Pu reply, “he’s flown up a tree before, so I’m not planning to let him go this time.”

“Really? That’s pretty lucky,” the boy says in surprise. “A lot of parrots fly away and don’t come back. If someone finds them and takes them home, that’s considered good. But if they’re unlucky, they might get caught and eaten by large birds or wild cats.”

Bai Gaoxing presses close to Li Pu’s neck, feeling his pulse quicken slightly.

Is he holding a grudge?

Bai Gaoxing gently nips at the man.

After their chat, Li Pu follows the group into the park, with Bai Gaoxing looking around and marking the way.

Perhaps because birds are easily frightened, the bird area is in the quietest part of the park. However, as they pass the last corner and the bird area comes fully into view, Bai Gaoxing understands why it’s built in such a secluded spot.

It’s too noisy!

He closes his eyes, feeling overwhelmed. Most of the birds brought here are parrots and starlings that mimic sounds, and parrots are known for their particularly loud voices. When they meet their own kind, their conversations are as loud as the peak hours of a bustling vegetable market!

“What’s wrong?” Li Pu notices the parrot on his shoulder doesn’t seem very happy, curled up into a ball. He immediately regrets not bringing a bird bag—he only wanted to take it out to play in the daylight but forgot this is a completely unfamiliar environment for it.

He reaches out, touching the parrot’s warm body. “If you’re not feeling well, shall we go back?”

“Whoosh—!”

Snow-white wings spread wide in the bright morning sun, reflecting light as if they’re glowing. Bai Gaoxing basks in the morning light, raising his head proudly and striking an elegant pose.

Suddenly, he doesn’t find it noisy at all.

Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing continue their stroll, while the college students who tagged along head toward a group of friends.

About a few dozen meters away, a small group of five or six young people, each carrying a large parrot, glance curiously in Li Pu’s direction.

What are you looking at?” asks the girl who first spoke to Li Pu. “Are you checking out that guy’s parrot?”

“Yeah, it’s a wutong parrot—a rare find.”

“No wonder! I thought it was a cockatoo for a second, but it looks way cooler.”

“I don’t know about you guys, but doesn’t that parrot look really familiar?” says a short-haired girl, looking thoughtful.

“Familiar? How so?” her friend, who’s trying to look cool, chimes in with a laugh, “Why don’t you just admit you want the guy’s contact info?”

“Wait, now that you mention it, I see it too,” a guy says, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “I thought this was just someone else jumping on the trend of getting a cockatoo or a white parrot…”

“Oh crap!” someone else suddenly exclaims. “Could that be Li Pu?”

“Then that parrot—”

“He said it’s called ‘Dabai.’”

A moment of realization passes over the group.

Just as Li Pu is placing Bai Gaoxing on the ground and taking out a small toy ball, he looks up to see all the young students hurrying toward him, each one with a bird in tow.
