Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

What… ring?

Upon hearing Li Pu’s words, Bai Gaoxing’s thoughts suddenly come to a halt, and his mind fills with just these four words.

Marriage, ring…

“Isn’t this it!!”

Bai Gaoxing snaps back to reality, stammering as he speaks. He raises his hand, and the silver ring rests at the base of his finger. The diamond on it reflects dazzling light under the glow of the lamp.

It looks like it has indeed been worn for a long time.

Li Pu takes his hand, his eyebrows relaxing slightly. “This is the proposal ring. You need a pair.”

A pair…

Bai Gaoxing mulls over those words, and his face grows even hotter.

It’s only early February, with the chill of the cold wind, yet he feels as though a warm breeze is blowing at him. His ears burn with embarrassment.

But Li Pu, seemingly unaware of his flustered state, asks with a smile, “Is that okay?”

Bai Gaoxing remains silent, his face flushed red. Fortunately, the night hides his embarrassment, leaving only the slight twinkle of stars in his eyes.

After a long while, he seems to give up, pushing Li Pu forward to avoid that intense gaze. “Okay, okay, okay, I’ll do whatever you say! No need to say it out loud—!”

His heart pounds wildly.

…

The next day, the two of them arrive at the place where the wedding rings are being custom-made as promised.

It’s a store that offers custom-designed jewelry, spacious and bright, with gorgeous decorations and even a second-floor loft. It’s said that the top designers in Jiangcheng work here, and their creations have been featured in many commercial magazines. The store is quite famous in the field of custom wedding jewelry.

Indeed, just the display in the store is enough to dazzle anyone—glass display cases are arranged in every direction, showcasing finished gold and jade jewelry, diamond rings, uncut diamonds, and gemstones, all dazzling in the light.

After filling out the necessary information, Li Pu is escorted to discuss the details further, leaving Bai Gaoxing to wander around the first-floor lobby out of boredom.

Even though it’s Saturday, the store isn’t very crowded, and the quiet atmosphere allows Bai Gaoxing to overhear the detailed introductions the salespeople are giving to a few couples.

As he listens, he walks and examines the various gems and jewels, already feeling the difficulty of making a decision.

“Hello, may I ask which type you’re interested in?” A salesperson smiles professionally as she stands by a display case.

“I’ll just take a look first…” Bai Gaoxing smiles and lowers his gaze.

The salesperson continues, “These are freshly polished gemstones without the settings. They can be further designed, cut, and polished.” She then points to another case where finished rings are displayed. “Our rings are available for trying on. If you like one, I can bring it out for you.”

Bai Gaoxing’s gaze drifts through the stunning gemstones for a moment before he’s about to pull back—he really can’t decide and thinks it might be better to discuss it with Li Pu later.

But the next moment, his attention is suddenly captured by a flash of blue.

“What’s that?”

It looks a bit familiar.

“Your eye is excellent! This is a pure natural sapphire, also the highlight of BAP’s blue series. If you’ve seen the latest issue of Trend magazine, you might have spotted it there.”

The salesperson brings it out.

Trend.… Isn’t that where Peter Wang works? Bai Gaoxing recalls. He went there for a magazine shoot once.

It can’t be such a coincidence… can it?

“Do you have that magazine here?” Bai Gaoxing can’t help but ask.

“Oh! Yes, we do!” The salesperson seems delighted. “I’ll go get it for you.”

She recognizes Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing the moment they walk in. After her initial surprise, she’s now thrilled to witness this sweet couple firsthand.

She never imagines that the internet-famous CP everyone adores is real…! How does she know for sure? The two filled out the form together!

“Here it is,” the salesperson says, handing over the magazine.

Sure enough—it’s indeed the one he featured for. Bai Gaoxing stares at the cover, his own face adorned with a flower crown, marveling at such an outrageous coincidence.

He vividly remembers that he once, out of boredom, slipped a ring onto Li Pu’s hand. That ring had been set with this very type of sapphire.

He doesn’t expect it to be put on now.

The stark white parrot and the white-haired young man—seeing them together is truly striking, not to mention the similar qualities they share. The salesperson can’t hold back any longer and gently speaks, “Xiaobai…”

Bai Gaoxing looks at the salesperson in surprise. Did she recognize him?

“Happy wedding!” The salesperson offers a sincere blessing, then hesitates before asking, “Could I… get your and Teacher Li’s autographs?”

Bai Gaoxing’s face flushes red. “We haven’t… married yet… but the autograph… sure!”

After signing, he stares at the two sapphires and takes out his card. “Please wrap this one for me.”

…

Not long after, Li Pu comes over with the designer’s catalog.

The person accompanying him introduces, “Next, both of you just need to choose your preferred ring style and decide which gemstone you want.”

The catalog displays a variety of exquisite rings, each with detailed design concepts and meanings written along the edges. Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu sit down on a nearby sofa, with plenty of time to make their selections.

“There are so many styles for the ring settings. It feels like we could spend the whole day choosing,” Bai Gaoxing remarks.

Li Pu smiles. “This is just one step. The options for diamonds are even more plentiful.”

Bai Gaoxing doesn’t respond to that, instead clearing his throat twice.

Li Pu, now noticing his shift in mood, turns to look at him, meeting the boy’s bright, sparkling eyes.

“You don’t need to worry about this,” Bai Gaoxing says, proudly presenting the wrapped present box. “Ta-da! I’ve already made my choice!”

Li Pu freezes for a moment.

Bai Gaoxing opens the box, excitedly recalling, “Do you remember this? It’s from when we did the Trend magazine shoot…”

Li Pu looks at the sapphire in the box, memories flooding back as he smiles. “I remember.”

Bai Gaoxing carefully closes the box. The sapphire, full of special meaning and memories, is his undeniable choice. And…

“This time, it’s my turn to propose.”

It’s the instinct of a bird to build its nest and give its best to the bird it loves!

Staring into the boy’s shining eyes, Li Pu falls silent for a moment before smiling warmly and accepting the box. “Looks like I was a step behind.”

Bai Gaoxing moves a little closer to him. “But~ from now on, you’ll be the one paying for meals.”

Li Pu: “?”

Bai Gaoxing leans on him. “I’m out of money! I only have three digits left on my card!”

Li Pu pats his head. “Well, what’s mine is yours.”

From afar, the two salespeople watch the sweet interaction between the two, feeling like they can’t insert themselves into the overwhelming pink atmosphere. They can’t help but wonder when the couple will officially go public. They’re already craving wedding candy.

…

After handing over the chosen style and sapphire to the store and reminding Li Pu to give autographs to the fans, with a quiet request for them to keep it a secret, Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu make their way home. They plan to tidy up and go out for a nice meal, but then Bai Gaoxing receives a call from Lei Li.

“Dabai’s picking up bad habits from you. First, you went offline, and now both of you are avoiding the internet?”

Their agent’s exasperated voice rings through the phone. “Check Weibo. Casino is about to premiere in China. Director Frank already announced it, and there’s a series of promotional events coming up. Make sure you stay updated.”

After hearing Lei Li’s message, Bai Gaoxing can only think of one thing.

Finally, it’s here.

The film they finished shooting last year, after a year of preparation and buildup, is finally making its way to the domestic scene.

He quickly logs onto Weibo, where Casino is trending at the top.

Frank: 【I express my greatest enthusiasm for this movie. Everyone did wonderfully, and I love them】

Along with this message are promotional posters, stills from the movie, and behind-the-scenes footage taken before the wrap-up of the shoot.

The passionate rose girl, the reborn gambler youth—Nitia, who plays the female lead, and Darren, who plays the male lead—have already sparked a wave of praise and excitement.

But what stuns everyone into awed silence is the poster of the second male lead, Adonis, and his lover Noah.

The snow-white youth sits on a hospital bed bathed in golden sunlight, with vibrant plants on the bedside and windowsill. Despite the lively backdrop, the boy is pale and sickly, as though he might vanish from the world any moment.

Behind him, Adonis stands in the shadows, his tall and resilient figure outlined by the dealer’s uniform. He even turns his body two-thirds of the way, leaving only his slightly lowered eyes and tightly pressed lips visible.

Their hands are clasped together, and even without eye contact, the atmosphere alone makes it clear that Noah feels a sense of relief, while Adonis hides a deep sorrow that he buries deeply inside.

There’s more than one promotional photo, and people can see Noah in uniform, Adonis brushing Noah’s hair, and the two of them pressing their foreheads together, whispering to each other.

They are too beautiful!

No one can resist the white-haired youth! Moreover, the boy’s pure whiteness feels completely natural, as if he’s a character who can only exist in a fantasy.

【Ahhhhh finally, there’s a picture!】

【The characters from the original work finally have faces!!!】

【How can he be this cute? His sickly appearance totally hits my weakness, wuwuwu…】

【Xiaobai’s movie! I must watch it multiple times!!!】

【Ahhhhhh, they really look perfect together!!!!】

The post was made an hour ago, and the topic hits the trending list fifty minutes later. Now, the internet is buzzing.

The comment sections on both Li Pu and Bai Gaoxing’s Weibo accounts are flooded with eager voices. Fans obsessed with the couple are relentless, just waiting for them to say something.

They’ve already been made to wait for a while — any longer would seem rude.

Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu both repost the director’s Weibo, expressing their love for the movie and gratitude for the director’s trust. The less-than-ten-second gap between their posts leaves fans joking once again about how in sync they are.

The premiere of Casino is set for February 11th, and now it’s only February 3rd.

It’s already very close, less than two weeks away, enough time for the film to become well-known to the point that everyone would recognize it.

As expected, as time goes on, the topic of Casino gains more and more traction, with nearly everyone expressing their anticipation for the film and stating that they will definitely buy tickets to watch it once it hits theaters.

This also brings a bit of trouble back into Bai Gaoxing’s university life—such as group photos and autographs, and his teachers start calling on him more often. The chances of being recognized on the street also increase.

Bai Gaoxing quietly waits for the premiere, also quietly awaiting his 20th birthday, feeling a mixture of nervousness and anticipation inside.

However, just the day before the premiere, a similar topic suddenly appears on Weibo and various forums:

【Surprise! Movie star Li Pu and his language coach suspected to have been dating since the filming of Casino. [Picture][Picture][Picture]】
