Ye Mumu woke up in the middle of the night, lying on the couch in her parents’ room. There was a wet spot on the pillow.

She missed them so much that she cried in her sleep again.

At 2:30 AM, the living room lights downstairs were still on.

However, several yellow papers had appeared under the vase.

Ah!

The vase had dumped trash in her house again!

Her anger flared as she went to the living room and picked up the dusty yellow papers.

The text was in traditional Chinese characters, written vertically.

It looked like it was written with ashes from a stone pot, the ink strokes disjointed and inconsistent.

Previously, it was just a few words; now it had become a whole lengthy piece, with sharp strokes and wild cursive handwriting.

There were four pieces of paper in total, but she couldn’t understand what was written.

She took photos with her phone and used a translation software to decipher the content. It turned out to be a prayer:

In the third year of the Great Qi Dynasty, the Zhan family army guarded a border fortress. They encountered 300,000 barbarians who surrounded the fortress, turning it into a death trap.

Out of 200,000 soldiers, only 20,000 remained alive.

The fortress suffered a severe drought, with vegetation withering.

The people had no harvest, and even ate tree bark and grass.

Of the 200,000 citizens in the city, countless died of starvation, leaving only 80,000 barely surviving.

The writer of the prayer addressed her as a god..

They begged her to grant water and food, with the First-rank Marquis of Ningguan willing to offer his life in exchange.

The entire city’s people would build a temple for her and worship her for generations.

The remaining two pieces of paper told two stories.

One about a cruel father who exchanged his own son.

The other about a grandmother who fed her granddaughter with her own blood and saved grass roots for days to give to the Marquis of Ningguan, only asking that her granddaughter not become food for others.

Horrific!

Unbearably horrific!

So, these pieces of trash… these letters were from the third year of the Great Qi Dynasty?

But there was no such dynasty in the Chinese history books.

Her family’s ancient vase was bringing in ancient trash!

To verify the accuracy of the message, Ye Mumu ran to her father’s study upstairs.

She brought down two stacks of A4 paper, two bottles of ink, two pens, and four brushes.

She first typed out a reply on her phone, then translated it into traditional characters.

She wrote with a fountain pen, copying the traditional characters.

Her father had made her practice calligraphy since childhood, and she had practiced the Shoujin style for ten years. Her handwriting wasn’t bad.

「Hello, I am not a god. My name is Ye Mumu, just an ordinary girl.

Are you the one who’s been throwing bloody bandages and knife tips into my house? Please stop dumping trash here; it’s very hard to clean up.」

Ye Mumu thought for a moment and continued writing: 「You said the fortress lacks water and food. What do you need most urgently right now?」

It was challenging for one person to feed 100,000 people.

But she could help within her means.

After finishing, she was still skeptical about her vase connecting two worlds.

Half-believing and half-doubting, she threw the ink, A4 paper, fountain pens, and brushes into the vase.

Finally, she tossed in her reply.

She watched in amazement as the items disappeared into the vase.

*

Thud! There was a sudden muffled sound.

Zhan Chengyin abruptly sat up in bed. He had been waiting for a long time.

During the night, he had tossed and turned, unable to sleep, thinking he had been too greedy and offended the gods.

Now, the gods had finally sent a message.

He put on his clothes and lit a candle.

He saw two thick stacks of paper on the table.

He pulled out a sheet, neatly cut and snow-white, so white it glowed in the night.

Two short black glass bottles labeled ‘ink’.

This was the ink used by the gods.

Brushes rolled down, along with a thin, rod-like pen.

Finally, he saw the gods reply.

The characters were powerful and sharp, their strokes like swords.

He carefully read the letter, his expression excited, his fingers trembling!

The gods had seen his plea!

Her name was Ye Mumu, and she denied being a god, even saying there were no gods in the world.

No.

She was a god!

She was his god!

The great drought had made life unbearable, not just in the Great Qi Dynasty, but in several neighboring countries as well, where rising temperatures had caused countless deaths.

Only his god would listen to prayers, provide water and food, and save millions from disaster!

His gaze fell on the last two sentences.

The god asked what they needed most.

This meant the god was willing to help him, willing to save the 100,000 soldiers and citizens in the fortress!

Suddenly, the great general who had killed countless enemies on the battlefield could no longer contain himself. Tears fell, landing on the letter.

He wept with joy.

The 100,000 people in the fortress could be saved!

The god had agreed to save them!
