- Chapter 95 - Night Visit
By the time they got home, it was already 10 PM. Su Xiaoxiao took a shower and returned to her bedroom with a hairdryer.
“Little sister,” Chen Shu called out to her.
“What’s up, bro?” Su Xiaoxiao’s wet head poked out from the door crack.
“What time is your flight tomorrow?” Chen Shu asked.
“8:30 AM,” Su Xiaoxiao answered. “Why, are you going to miss me? Don’t worry, we’ll see each other in two weeks for the eighth episode.”
“I was just asking,” Chen Shu smiled.
“Tch,” Su Xiaoxiao pouted and then said, “Oh, by the way, Liang Wei asked me to give him your WeChat. Maybe he wants to apprentice under you, haha, and then make a comeback in the next episode. Should I give it to him?”
Chen Shu said, “Sure, give it to him. If he gets exposed again in the next episode, it won’t be fun for him.”
“Haha, true,” Su Xiaoxiao giggled, covering her mouth. “Alright, I’ll pass your info to him.”
A moment later, Chen Shu’s phone buzzed. An account named “Greatness Needs No Words” sent a friend request. The profile picture was a selfie of Liang Wei.
“This guy, is he really this bold?” Chen Shu clicked to agree, then stuffed the phone into his pocket and told Su Xiaoxiao, “By the way, little sister, I have something to do tonight and need to go out. I won’t be able to send you off in the morning. You’ll need to take a taxi yourself, alright?”
Su Xiaoxiao gave him an “OK” gesture, “Got it, no problem~”
At 4:30 AM, at the entrance of the West Suburbs, behind a thick electric pole. Chen Shu, wrapped in a thin coat and wearing a baseball cap, stood with his arms crossed, watching the stinky tofu stall and the gate behind it.
Creak. The iron gate made a sound as it opened. Tang Bin pushed a tricycle and walked out.
Although his business was usually conducted at night, he often woke up early to buy fresh tofu. If he waited until the afternoon to go to the market, the tofu would be ruined. After returning, he processed the tofu and only brought it to the stall to sell in the evening.
Now, under the streetlights, Tang Bin closed the door, rode his old tricycle, and left down the street. Once he was out of sight, Chen Shu stepped out from behind the electric pole and walked toward the gate.
The white light shone on the wall beside him. The pale photo on the missing person’s notice seemed to be staring directly at him. It felt as if Qi Dan, who had vanished without a trace, was looking him in the eye.
Chen Shu quickly looked away, stepped back a few paces, then suddenly lunged forward. He planted his right foot on the wall, used the leverage to push himself up, and with his hands gripping the fence, did a roll to land inside the yard.
The big dog: “?”
Chen Shu whispered, “Am I lucky this year?”
The big dog remained silent, curled up on the ground. It didn’t make a sound.
Chen Shu, “Guess I’ll take that as a yes, thanks.”
Although the slap hadn’t crushed the dog’s skull, it wasn’t barking again. It would need several days to recover before it could do so.
Chen Shu walked forward, ahead was a two-story house. The front door was locked, so he couldn’t get in. He then looked toward the second-floor balcony.
The balcony was open, without glass, so as long as he could climb up, he could directly enter the second-floor hall. Without hesitation, Chen Shu went to work. After upgrading his physical attributes, he was now incredibly strong.
He climbed up the wall, using the recessed window frames, one step at a time, toward the second-floor balcony.
