- Chapter 72 - The Diary Exposed
The main livestream screen was entirely focused on the diary. The audience watched intently, afraid to miss any crucial detail. For them, the diary’s exposure was the highlight of this episode. Everyone wanted to see how Chen Shu had manipulated Zeng Zhiwei into committing a crime.
“Lower the background music a little, create a feeling of lurking tension.”
“Dim the lighting slightly, make it darker to build up the sense of truth breaking through.”
Zhang Sheng stared at the screen, microphone in hand, giving commands. He wasn’t nervous anymore, because he knew that by voluntarily handing over the diary and exposing its contents, Chen Shu was practically turning himself in.
Luo Xiang had also said that handwriting was the key!
“Now, let’s enjoy Chen Shu’s criminal methods together. Haha, not only is this bringing a flood of views to the show, but it’s also bringing him to justice!”
“Today is a great day!”
Inside the interrogation room, Wang Zheng flipped open the first page. Everyone, including Su Xiaoxiao, saw what was written inside.
April 25th – Sunny
Today, my brother took me to school. We parted ways at the school gate, but just as I stepped inside, a man wearing a baseball cap appeared behind me!
He grabbed my waist, pressed a knife to my neck, and his heavy breathing lingered on the back of my neck. I was terrified because I knew it had to be Liu Liang’s father.
I didn’t kill Liu Liang. Even the police ruled me innocent. But why? Why is Liu Liang’s father still coming after me for revenge?
He stuffed me into his car and sped toward the mountains. I knew I was done for. He was really going to kill me. I was so wronged. I only wanted to stay with my dad and live a peaceful life.
Dad, where are you? If only you had shown up back then.
Because… in the car, he forced me to take off all my clothes, everything… He wanted to humiliate me. He wanted to comfort his son’s spirit in his own twisted way… He made me sit on him…
Dad, I’m sorry. Your daughter is no longer pure.
After reading the first diary entry, the livestream audience gasped in shock.
It was clear that Chen Shu had exploited Zeng Zhiwei’s controlling nature and twisted fatherly love to make him hate Liang Wei.
“If I saw my daughter write something like this, I’d want to kill Liang Wei too.”
“Yeah, even if we ignore any father-daughter obsession, any normal father wouldn’t be able to let this go.”
“I can only say, Chen Shu is a genius.”
Meanwhile, inside the interrogation room, Wang Zheng and the others frowned deeply, their eyes locked onto Su Xiaoxiao.
Their expressions made it clear, they thought Su Xiaoxiao was ruthless!
She had fabricated this lie herself, pushing Zeng Zhiwei into madness!
“No, no,” Su Xiaoxiao shook her hands frantically, denying, “I wasn’t violated by Liang Wei! It’s fake, all fake! Officer Wang, you have to believe me!”
“Hmph,” Wang Zheng scoffed. “Of course, you weren’t violated. You wrote this on purpose to push your father into wanting to kill Liang Wei!”
Su Xiaoxiao was stunned. She had no idea what to say. At this point, admitting it was wrong. Denying it was also wrong! It was as if she had become a puppet, controlled by invisible hands.
“Su Xiaoxiao is really helpless. Chen Shu’s plan is too airtight. If she admits to being assaulted, they know she’s lying. If she denies it, she’s falling right into Chen Shu’s trap.”
“Luo Xiang was right. Aside from handwriting analysis, this case is practically unsolvable!”
“Stop talking and read the next entry!”
Wang Zheng ignored Su Xiaoxiao and flipped to the second page.
April 26th – Gloomy Day
What should I do? Should I tell Dad that Liang Wei violated me?
No, no, I can’t say it.
If Dad finds out, he’ll definitely despise me. I’m his precious daughter, his favorite. If he knows I was with another man…
Why? Why did this have to happen to me?
Dad always told me to be obedient, to listen. But I’ve always been obedient. So why did this happen to me? I feel so dirty. No matter how much I wash, I can’t get rid of this filth.
Dad… what should I do? I will never be able to erase this nightmare!
Unless… unless I kill him myself!
Yes. Kill! Kill him! Kill him with my own hands!
This second diary entry was filled with hatred toward Liang Wei. It was like brainwashing hypnosis, burning into the minds of all the livestream viewers.
“Damn it, I’m so mad! Liang Wei, show yourself! I’ll kill you!”
“Liang Wei, you’re a beast. Disgusting!”
“Revive Liang Wei so we can kill him again!”
“Wait, what are you guys saying? The diary is fake, it was written by Chen Shu! Why do you all sound brainwashed?”
“No, this diary really does mess with your head. The whole thing is about killing! If I found out my daughter went through something like this, I’d be grabbing a knife too. Let alone Zeng Zhiwei.”
Inside the interrogation room, the atmosphere was heavy.
Su Xiaoxiao trembled in the iron chair. She had no idea who wrote this diary or where it even came from. But she knew she was being framed.
Yet, at this moment, the three officers didn’t believe her. They clenched their fists, as if the diary had brainwashed them too. It took a long while before they snapped out of it.
“Liang Wei died in the early hours of April 27th, so the diary should only go up to April 26th, right?” Su Haoran glanced at the diary and asked.
“Yeah, that should be it,” Qin Min nodded. “These two entries alone were enough to drive Zeng Zhiwei insane.”
“Wait a minute…” Wang Zheng suddenly said. “There’s more in the diary.”
“More?” Su Haoran was stunned. “That doesn’t make sense. Su Xiaoxiao was kidnapped by Liang Wei on April 25th and wrote the second entry at school on the 26th. That night, Zeng Zhiwei found the diary. So how could there be more?”
Hearing this, the livestream audience was just as curious.
“Yeah, Zeng Zhiwei found the diary on the 26th, so there shouldn’t be anything after that.”
“No, no, I saw Chen Shu writing in the diary that day. He wrote for a long time, so there must be more entries.”
“What could he have written?”
Under everyone’s curiosity, Wang Zheng turned the page. One line was written boldly across it.
“I’ve thought of a way to kill him!”
