That night, the top five trending searches were all dominated by Chen Shu.

As his methods were gradually analyzed by netizens, a storm swept across the internet. After all, no one could have imagined, the show had restricted his movements to force him into a passive state and get him caught. Yet, through his unique tactics, he orchestrated a shocking deception!

Everyone became his scapegoat! Not only did he walk free, but at the beginning, many netizens even felt sorry for him.

“When Chen Shu was framed, I really thought he was being wronged. Turns out, it was all a lie!”

“Yeah, Zeng Zhiwei contacted Liang Wei using his phone, but it was all part of Chen Shu’s plan.”

“He threw himself into the game and came out victorious!”

As discussions heated up online, a blogger with the ID “Lawless Outlaw” was drawn to the show. His real name was Luo Xiang, a professor at the Criminal Justice Academy and director of the Criminal Law Research Institute. He had published numerous works on criminal law.

At first, he wasn’t interested in the show. He thought it was just another attention-seeking, gimmicky variety program. However, when Chen Shu’s crime techniques were exposed, he was stunned and quickly caught up on the episodes.

Finally, he posted a short video on Douying.

“I’ve been following the hotly discussed ‘Diary Murder Case.’ In it, Chen Shu used a diary, writing in Su Xiaoxiao’s tone to lure Zeng Zhiwei into committing murder. This constitutes incitement, a serious crime punishable by death.”

“Of course, I know what everyone cares about the most, can the investigation team catch Chen Shu?”

“In my opinion, absolutely!”

“Handwriting is unique to each person. With experts and forensic tools, the police can analyze and identify it.”

“So, as long as they find the diary, the investigation team will have a breakthrough.”

“I watched the entire live stream. Chen Shu hasn’t destroyed the diary yet. After Zeng Zhiwei committed the crime, he was taken in for questioning and spent over ten hours in the interrogation room before being released the next morning.”

“This is the only chance for the investigation team to turn the tables!”

“Otherwise, the case would be nearly unsolvable!”

The video immediately went viral, attracting thousands of viewers. Everyone agreed, Lawless Outlaw knew his stuff.

“Professor Luo is right. The diary is the key! Even if Chen Shu pretended to be Su Xiaoxiao, his handwriting would give him away.”

“Maybe Chen Shu didn’t expect Su Haoran to figure out so quickly that Su Xiaoxiao wasn’t assaulted, so he didn’t have time to destroy the diary.”

“Oh no, even Lawless Outlaw is speaking up. Chen Shu might not be able to commit the perfect crime after all. The diary is still at his house, the investigation team will find it soon.”

“Please, don’t let them find it! I still want Chen Shu to pull off the perfect crime!”

“Honestly, I hope they do find it. I’m really curious about what was written in that diary!”

Meanwhile, Director Zhang Sheng saw Professor Luo Xiang’s post. He was thrilled! Lawless Outlaw was a widely recognized name.

“Professor Luo is absolutely right! The diary hasn’t been destroyed yet, there’s still time!”

At the City Bureau, Criminal Investigation Department.

“Captain Wang, did Su Xiaoxiao confess?” Su Haoran and Qin Min walked in and asked.

“No,” Wang Zheng shook his head. “She’s staying tight-lipped. No matter how we question her, she keeps saying she doesn’t know anything. She looks more wronged than anyone.”

Qin Min chuckled, “Guess she won’t cry until she sees the coffin.”

“Even if she doesn’t talk, it doesn’t matter. Based on the evidence we’ve gathered and Zeng Zhiwei’s testimony, we have enough to convict her. These celebrities just want to drag things out to milk the publicity.” Wang Zheng smirked, then asked, “By the way, did you find the diary at Su Xiaoxiao’s house?”

“Not yet. She must have hidden it somewhere. I left a few officers searching her place. They’ll report back if they find anything,” Su Haoran replied.

“Left a few officers?” Wang Zheng frowned. “Haoran, you’re not just keeping them there to find the diary, are you? You’re still suspicious of Chen Shu?”

“Yeah,” Su Haoran admitted. “Something just feels off, but I can’t put my finger on it… So I left them there to keep an eye on him, just in case he makes another move before Su Xiaoxiao is convicted.”

Hearing this, Qin Min scoffed, “Haoran, Chen Shu was almost wrongfully imprisoned a few days ago. This case really has nothing to do with him. Don’t be biased.”

“Yeah,” Wang Zheng nodded. “Chen Shu is basically cleared from this case. Haoran, stop focusing on him. Our priority now is finding the diary. If Su Xiaoxiao won’t talk, we’ll present solid evidence to shut her up.”

Bang, bang!

Just then, loud knocking came from the interrogation room. It was from Su Xiaoxiao.

“Oh? She’s been locked up for so long, is she finally ready to talk?” Qin Min said.

“Let’s see what she has to say.”

Wang Zheng pocketed his teacup and pushed open the interrogation room door.

Under the dim light, Su Xiaoxiao sat in the metal chair, her handcuffs reflecting a cold silver gleam. Her eyes were filled with unshed tears.

“Damn, Su Xiaoxiao really looks pitiful.”

“She has no choice. To Chen Shu, she’s too much of a threat. A real criminal has to be ruthless!”

“Officer Wang, I really don’t know anything about a diary! Liang Wei was killed by my father. It has nothing to do with me.”

“I don’t know why you’re framing me. You keep saying I wrote a diary, then show it to me!” Tears streamed down Su Xiaoxiao’s face. She had no idea what was going on. She was taken here last night. Since then, they had accused her of masterminding the crime and instructing her father to kill Liang Wei.

They kept talking about some diary! She had never even seen it!

“Su Xiaoxiao, stop playing the victim,” Wang Zheng snapped. “Just wait. We’ll find that diary soon enough.”

Qin Min added, “Honestly, I’m really curious, what exactly did you write in that diary that made your father lose all reason after reading it?”

“I didn’t…” Su Xiaoxiao choked. “I never wrote any diary…”

Ring, ring.

Just then, Su Haoran’s phone rang. He answered and put it on speaker. An officer’s excited voice echoed through the room, “Detective Su, we got the diary.”

“Hmm,” Su Haoran responded, glancing at Su Xiaoxiao. “How did you find it?”

“We didn’t,” the officer replied. “Chen Shu handed it over himself. He said, ‘This should be what you’re looking for.’ He found it under his bed.”
