- I Asked You To Simulate A Crime, And You Pulled Off The Perfect Crime?
- Chapter 37 - Full Attribute Points and New Skills
The first question from the audience addressed everyone’s biggest confusion.
After all, in this case, the only way for the investigation team to capture Chen Shu was to find the body. However, despite searching everywhere Chen Shu had been, they found nothing.
They were even played for fools.
So where exactly is Liu Liang’s body and how did Chen Shu hide it?
This became the biggest mystery of the show!
For a moment, from the production team to the audience, even the Iron Trio, who had just returned from Jinfu Village, were all watching the live broadcast, eager to hear Chen Shu’s explanation.
“Well…”
However, when faced with the question, Chen Shu did not immediately answer.
For one reason only.
The system required him to execute a perfect crime. If he succeeded, he would be rewarded. But now, Chen Shu has not received any notification from the system. Did he have to wait until the show officially ended?
In other words, he couldn’t reveal Liu Liang’s location yet.
“As for this question, I can’t answer it right now. However, after the show ends, I will find a suitable time to explain in detail,” Chen Shu said with a smile to the camera.
“Ughhh, are you serious? My OCD is acting up! I won’t be able to sleep tonight.”
“Stop teasing us! Where is the body?!”
“Chen Shu, be a decent person for once! Just tell us!”
“Maybe he’s keeping quiet to give the investigation team a chance. Since the show has a time limit, they couldn’t solve the case, which hurt their reputation. If they can find the body in the next few days, they can at least give the audience some closure and restore some credibility.”
Hearing Chen Shu’s response, Zhang Bingbing smiled awkwardly. She wanted to know too, but if he wasn’t willing to answer, she couldn’t force him.
After that, Zhang Bingbing asked a few more questions from the audience. But compared to “Where is the body?” the rest were insignificant. Soon, as Zhang Bingbing wrapped up with her closing words, episode six officially came to an end!
At 11:30 PM, Chen Shu was alone at home. With no cameras around, he finally let out a long sigh of relief. At that moment, the system’s voice echoed in his mind.
“Ding!”
“Congratulations to the host for deceiving everyone and performing a perfect crime for the first time.”
“You have received full attribute points.”
“Strength +5.”
“Intelligence +5.”
“Charisma +5.”
“Agility +5.”
“Stamina +5.”
“Charm +5.”
“Evaluation: The host is now above average.”
As the voice faded, Chen Shu immediately felt a surge of energy.
It was like being electrocuted, an intense, exhilarating rush, like eating wasabi that sent his brain into overdrive. This feeling lasted for a while. Suddenly, he noticed his thinking had become sharper, and his vision was several times clearer than before.
Lifting his shirt, his previously ordinary stomach was now covered in defined muscles.
“So this is the system’s reward?”
Walking into the bathroom, he stared at his reflection in the mirror. It was as if he had been reborn. Then, the system spoke again.
“The host has successfully used Beginner-Level Mental Brainwashing to complete a deception.”
“Upgrading this skill!”
“Congratulations, the host has mastered Intermediate-Level Mental Brainwashing!”
“Intermediate-Level Mental Brainwashing: No longer limited to verbal repetition, your actions and behavior will now subconsciously influence others.”
A flood of knowledge about Intermediate-Level Mental Brainwashing appeared in his mind. It was quickly absorbed. Permanently etched into his memory, ready to be used at will.
“Not just limited to words?” Chen Shu smirked, this was a game-changer. The previous beginner-level skill was too restrictive. He had to engage in conversation to affect someone.
That created a problem.
If the target was alert, the brainwashing wouldn’t work. This was why he chose to brainwash ordinary people instead of the investigation team. They were much harder to deal with.
Out-talking them wasn’t a guaranteed win. But now, things are different. He was no longer limited to verbal persuasion! That meant a lot more possibilities.
“Ding!”
“The host has completed a perfect crime and unlocked a new skill, Car Hunter!”
“Car Hunter: You possess extraordinary car theft skills, along with elite-level driving abilities. On your path of crime, no one can stop you.”
A new skill!
Chen Shu’s eyes lit up. He thought the system was stingy, but it actually came through. And the skill was top-notch. A combination of car theft and high-level driving, Car Hunter!
Hah, now he wouldn’t even need to take public transport. He could just take someone else’s car and leave them stranded. And with elite driving skills, it was like those crime movies where drivers could do insane stunts like drifting, flips, you name it.
If the police ever came after him…
At least he’d have a way to escape, instead of just sitting there waiting to be caught.
Chen Shu was very satisfied with this new skill.
“Reminder: Please continue executing perfect crimes.”
“The system will keep providing rewards. The harder the crime, the better the rewards.”
The system’s voice faded. A glowing interface appeared before Chen Shu.
“Host: Chen Shu”
“Level: One-Star Criminal”
“Strength: 15 (10 is the average human score)”
“Intelligence: 15”
“Charisma: 15”
“Agility: 15”
“Stamina: 15”
“Charm: 15”
“Perfect Crimes: 1”
“Skills: 1. Intermediate-Level Mental Brainwashing
- Car Hunter”
“Tasks: Locked (Unlockable at Five-Star Criminal Level)”
Chen Shu now had a clearer understanding of the system. And he realized he was still just a one-star criminal. Which made sense, it was only his first offense.
“Tasks?”
He paused at the last section. He needed to reach a five-star criminal level to unlock them? That was going to take a while. But it also gave him something to look forward to. He was curious just how extreme would the system’s tasks be?
Would it actually make him commit crimes in real life?
That would be a bit too much, wouldn’t it?
“For now, I won’t think too far ahead. I need to figure out how to keep pulling off perfect crimes to level up!”
Chen Shu began planning his next move. Just then, his phone rang. Someone was calling.
He pulled it out and checked. It was an officially verified number labeled “Law Enforcement Network.”
“Hello, is this Chen Shu?”
