July 7th, Monday. 8:00 AM.

All over the internet, last night’s events from Inescapable Justice had completely taken over the trending list.

#Chen Shu and his sister in perfect sync#, #Chen Shu helps Su Xiaoxiao pull off the perfect crime#, #Yamamoto Sakura’s wrap-up#, #Su Xiaoxiao’s first time#, #Liang Wei once again in Chen Shu’s grasp#, #Both sides at peace#

Inside the director’s office, Zhang Sheng was scrolling through the trending topics, anxious beyond belief. He hadn’t expected Chen Shu to actually let Liang Wei go. He thought the two sides would keep going at each other, but Chen Shu didn’t place Yamamoto Sakura’s corpse in Liang Wei’s house.

In other words, Yamamoto Sakura’s body had been hidden! He knew all too well how good Chen Shu was at hiding a body. The show only had fifteen days. The investigation team wouldn’t be able to find it.

And if they couldn’t, the situation would be this: even if the police suspected that Yamamoto Sakura’s disappearance was done by Su Xiaoxiao, the bullying victim, where was the evidence?

The only person who could point the finger at Su Xiaoxiao was Liang Wei and there was no way he would say anything!

Unless he wanted a divorce. He loved his wife so much, he would definitely help keep this secret.

Beep-beep.

First thing in the morning, the inevitable call came.

“Zhang Sheng, what the hell, how did things turn out like this?” The station chief’s voice was as rough and blunt as ever. “Chen Shu and Liang Wei are each guarding the other’s secret, this basically means they’re in the same camp. Now Yamamoto Yuu is completely isolated!”

Zhang Sheng was helpless. “Hey, Director, don’t get worked up, let me explain…”

Wu Hong: “Explain my ass.”

“No, listen, ” Zhang Sheng gave an awkward laugh. “See, Chen Shu took advantage of lights-out to hide Yamamoto Sakura’s body, but he didn’t hide it in Liang Wei’s home. What does that mean? It means Chen Shu got scared. He chose to keep the peace and let things go.”

“We already know Chen Shu must be the ‘Midnight Chainsaw Man.’ His hidden mission is probably to help his sister get rid of these silent people. So how could he dare to openly fight with Liang Wei? Unless he wants his sister in prison. If Su Xiaoxiao ends up in prison, his hidden mission fails.”

Hearing this, Wu Hong paused. It did make sense, Chen Shu and his sister had dirt on Liang Wei, but Liang Wei also had dirt on them. That meant Chen Shu wouldn’t dare to touch Liang Wei.

A ‘Midnight Chainsaw Man’ who doesn’t dare to kill? What a joke.

“So even though Chen Shu helped Su Xiaoxiao stage a perfect crime, it ends here. He won’t dare provoke Liang Wei again.”

“As for Yamamoto Yuu, forget it! In this situation, the advantage is actually with Yamamoto Yuu because Chen Shu, his sister, and Liang Wei all won’t act rashly. Only Yamamoto Yuu, with his power and influence, can do whatever he wants!”

Zhang Sheng continued his analysis. Sure enough, after hearing this, Wu Hong’s anger dissipated. Then he hung up.

“Tch,” Zhang Sheng chuckled at his phone. “Old Wu, I can read you like a book. I already know every move you’re going to make.”

To be fair, Zhang Sheng’s analysis did make sense. Meanwhile, online discussions broke out.

“Liang Wei must be happy now. Chen Shu took Yamamoto Sakura’s body away, and with his skill at hiding corpses, no one will ever find it. They can both live in peace.”

“But it’s strange, sure, Yamamoto Sakura bullied Su Xiaoxiao, but no one was really innocent. Is Chen Shu really letting Liang Wei and his wife off the hook?”

“What else can Chen Shu do? Liang Wei was an accomplice in killing Yamamoto Sakura. If Chen Shu makes a move against him, Liang Wei could just go to the police and confess. Then neither side will have peace.”

“True, it really seems like Chen Shu’s revenge stops here.”

“Besides, Yamamoto Yuu and An Jiayu haven’t even acted yet. With Chen Shu and his sister now on the defensive, the situation is bad for them.”

9:30 AM. Inside Haicheng High School’s auditorium, hundreds of people were seated, students in their final year and their parents. The scene was noisy and a bit chaotic.

At the main entrance, security captain Liang Wei was maintaining order. He watched students walk in holding their parents’ hands, a warm, touching sight. He couldn’t help thinking that when he became a father one day, he’d experience moments like this too.

The thought brought a smile to his face, until he saw a certain brother and sister walking toward him. His smile froze.

“Morning.” Liang Wei greeted Chen Shu and Su Xiaoxiao.

Su Xiaoxiao gripped Chen Shu’s arm tightly and ignored him. Chen Shu, however, replied, “You stayed up so late last night, and you’re still so energetic. Not bad, Captain Liang.”

“You too,” Liang Wei said, leaning closer to whisper, “You have to hide Yamamoto Sakura’s body well. As long as the police can’t find it, they’ll initially assume it’s a student disappearance or truancy. They won’t suspect us for now. For our safety, you must absolutely make sure it’s never exposed.”

“Mhm.” Chen Shu nodded. “Don’t worry. Wherever I am, the body is too. No one will find it anywhere else.”

“You?” Liang Wei instinctively took a step back. “Good. I hope we both get through this. If I’m fine, you’re fine.”

“Come on, little sister. The lecture conference is about to start.” Chen Shu didn’t bother with Liang Wei anymore and led Su Xiaoxiao into the auditorium.

Watching them leave, Liang Wei smirked. “Got him.”

The auditorium was arranged in a descending, tiered layout. At the very front stood a podium. On the wall behind it hung a red curtain, giving a festive touch, and on either side hung a couplet: Through countless trials, iron becomes a needle!

Screech.

The microphone’s feedback echoed sharply.

“Ahem.” Pregnant An Jiayu stood at the podium, speaking into the mic. “Parents, please quiet down. The lecture conference will begin shortly. Just a moment longer.”

She quickly stepped down and went backstage.

Turning to Principal Yamamoto Yuu, she asked, “Principal, where’s Yamamoto Sakura? She was supposed to give the opening speech today. Where is she?”

“How would I know?” Yamamoto Yuu replied, then muttered in confusion, “That girl… a little mischief is one thing, but at a time like this, where could she be?”

“I had her classmates look for her, but no one found her,” An Jiayu glanced at her watch. “We’re out of time… Principal, what if I have another student do the opening speech instead? There’s a script, so it shouldn’t be a big problem. I did want your daughter to have a moment in the spotlight, but… there’s no time.”

“Ugh,” Yamamoto Xiong sighed, “Fine, fine. Whoever does it, just get it done. You handle it.”

“Alright.” An Jiayu nodded and walked back into the hall. Making her way up the aisle to the top row, she stopped beside Su Xiaoxiao.

One hand on her belly, she bent down and said, “Xiaoxiao, can you help your teacher with something?”

Puzzled, Su Xiaoxiao asked, “What is it, Teacher An?”

An Jiayu handed her the speech. “Originally, I was going to have Yamamoto Sakura give the opening speech, but I know she has a bad character and often bullied you in class, so I decided not to let her. Now I’m giving this opportunity to you.”

“You won’t refuse your teacher, will you?” Then she looked at Chen Shu. “Your sister will be representing the entire senior class. As her brother, you must be proud, right?”

“Of course,” Chen Shu smiled, then told Su Xiaoxiao, “Go on, little sister. Don’t waste Teacher An’s kindness.”

Su Xiaoxiao nodded, took the speech from An Jiayu, and, under her guidance, walked step by step toward the podium.
