- Chapter 178 - The Crybaby and Foolish Liang
July 7, 1:00 a.m. Faculty Dormitory.
Liang Wei stepped out of the bathroom, mop in hand. He had scrubbed it thoroughly clean and even sprayed some perfume. Though the scent was a bit overpowering, it managed to mask the stench, at least a little. He set the mop aside and looked over at An Jiayu, who was sitting on the sofa, her pregnant belly clearly visible, her face heavy with worry.
“Wife,” he called gently, “you said the bathroom smelled bad. I’ve cleaned it several times. Honestly, I think it’s just your pregnancy messing with your sense of smell. I couldn’t smell anything, haha.”
With that, he sat beside her.
“Mhm,” An Jiayu nodded, then looked at him. “Honey, where do you think my mom went? I can’t find her anywhere.”
“She probably left Haicheng in a rage after finding out we got married,” Liang Wei explained. “Don’t worry about her. Once you give birth to her precious grandson, she’ll definitely come back…”
As he spoke, Liang Wei reached out to touch her belly, but An Jiayu suddenly turned away. “Don’t touch it!”
Liang Wei froze, “Huh?”
She quickly added, “It’s only been a few months, the baby hasn’t even formed yet. When you touch my stomach, it makes me uncomfortable.”
“…Alright,” Liang Wei withdrew his hand, then smiled dreamily. “Honey, what do you think we should name the baby?”
An Jiayu, distracted, replied, “You name it.”
“Okay, okay,” Liang Wei stroked his chin, thinking. “I hope our child grows up without making mistakes or doing shady things. I want them to be kind and honest. So let’s name him Liang Liang!”
“Liang Liang…? That sounds like ‘doomed.’ I said you could name the baby, not make up nonsense,” An Jiayu rolled her eyes at him and stood up. “I’m going to bed. You sleep in the other room. I’m pregnant, it’s inconvenient to sleep together.”
“Alright,” Liang Wei nodded.
Once An Jiayu closed the bedroom door, Liang Wei got up and walked into the bathroom again. He tilted his head up, eyes locking on the ceiling above the sink. Gritting his teeth, he muttered, “You damn old hag. You had it coming. My wife’s already pregnant with my child, and you still wouldn’t accept our marriage. You even told her to get an abortion, you deserved to die!”
After venting, a wave of unease crept in. He knew he couldn’t keep the corpse hidden at home much longer. His wife had already noticed the smell. If it lingered, she’d eventually discover the truth. If she found out he was the one who killed her mother…
Liang Wei didn’t even dare finish the thought. He needed to move the body fast. But how? Suddenly, an image surfaced in his mind: a timid, bullied schoolgirl.
“She must’ve already seen my secret, but… judging by how weak she is, she wouldn’t dare report me. Maybe, I can use her. Make her help me move the body!”
A twisted plan began forming in Liang Wei’s mind.
Click. Late at night, Su Xiaoxiao knew her brother was asleep. She turned on the light, she slipped on her slippers and sat down at her desk. Opening a drawer, she pulled out some pain relief ointment.
She rolled up the wide sleeves of her pajamas, revealing arms covered in bruises, blue and purple welts, some spots where pen tips had punctured her skin, leaving small bloody holes. Each mark was painful to look at.
Su Xiaoxiao applied the ointment, clenching her teeth, eyes shut tight against the pain. Still, her tears spilled down, dripping onto her lap uncontrollably. Once she finished tending to both arms, she sat numbly in her chair, staring blankly at the desk.
Scenes of Yamamoto Sakura bullying her flashed through her mind. She clenched her fists, but then, the terrifying scene she’d witnessed at the security captain’s home resurfaced. All her strength drained in an instant.
“I know his secret… He’ll never let me go…”
Su Xiaoxiao knew her situation was bad, very bad. Still, she chose not to tell her brother. She had promised herself she would never drag him down again. When she got home earlier, she almost broke down and told him everything. But thankfully, she held back. Because now… she had a plan.
Rustle. Su Xiaoxiao tore a sheet of paper from her notebook and laid it on the desk. She picked up a pen and began writing out her plan.
“Yamamoto Sakura is jealous of me. She humiliates me and isolates me from the class. My classmates fear her and avoid me. I hate her. But I have no friends at school, not even the homeroom teacher is willing to help me.
I can’t tell my brother. He loves and protects me. If he finds out, he’ll go kill Yamamoto Sakura himself. He’s finally found some peace and his dream of becoming a doctor. How could I ruin that for him?
I have to do this myself.
I can handle this on my own!
I need a helper and that person is the school’s security captain. I stumbled upon his secret, but that might not be a bad thing. I can use it to threaten him.
I’ll make him help me kill Yamamoto Sakura!”
Su Xiaoxiao wrote her plan, one sentence at a time, clear and firm. The livestream camera caught every word, viewers read it in real-time and soon the chat exploded.
“Holy crap, Su Xiaoxiao’s not backing down anymore!”
“Is this really the same Xiaoxiao we know? Where did this gutsy girl come from?”
“Unrecognizable!”
“Liang Wei wants to use Su Xiaoxiao to move a corpse, and now Su Xiaoxiao wants to use Liang Wei to kill her bully. Their plans are about to collide!”
“A crybaby vs. dumb Liang, what a combo. This is gold!”
“Liang Wei: It’s the rise of the Wei-god era!”
“Su Xiaoxiao: I’m coming for my revenge!”
Staring at her plan, Su Xiaoxiao felt completely satisfied. If the security captain wanted to keep his secret hidden, then he’d have no choice but to obey her.
Kill Yamamoto Sakura. Eliminate her bully.
Su Xiaoxiao clenched her fists again, then committed the plan to memory. Afterward, she tore the paper into pieces and tossed it in the trash.
The next day at 4:00 p.m. Senior students only had one short break, Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.
Su Xiaoxiao slung on her backpack and stood at the front of the building. She waved toward Chen Shu, who was sitting in the yard with his back to her. “Brother, I’m heading back to school! See you next week!”
Chen Shu turned to look at her. “Xiaoxiao, stay safe.”
“I will, promise!” Su Xiaoxiao got into the rideshare car she’d booked. It sped off toward the western suburbs.
About ten minutes later, Chen Shu finally stopped what he was doing. In his hands, he was sharpening a scalpel. He had bought it especially for studying anatomy.
