How to Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse - Chapter 412
An Ran, inexplicably scolded, turns and looks carefully at Xu Li’er’s angry face—up and down, left and right. Then she takes two steps toward Xu Li’er with a stern expression and warns, “I don’t know what misunderstanding you have about me, but if you rush out now and ask Zhan Lian and the others to leave the real threat at the main gate to guard such an unimportant side door for us, I won’t let you out. If you have the ability, try it!”
Xu Li’er’s red lips curl into a disdainful smile. She turns and runs toward the main door.
Behind her, Zhao Ru yawns. No one helps her lift the heavy object, so she goes to move it by herself.
But just as Xu Li’er takes two steps, An Ran catches up, grabs her collar, and presses her to the ground. She restrains Xu Li’er’s struggling hands, pulls them back, and scolds, “I told you to try, and you really tried?! Little Mint, bring me a rope and tie her up!”
What a nuisance. As a water-ability user, it’s bad enough she can’t fight monsters. But now she wants to split Zhan Lian’s fighting force? If An Ran doesn’t tie her up, who will?
The front door opens and Little Mint steps out of the car with a wooden expression. Amid Xu Li’er’s painful groans, An Ran notices the chain lock on the side door handle. Her eyebrows twitch as Little Mint holds up the chain lock.
“Ah! What the hell is wrong with you?! I’m not going anymore, don’t tie me up!” Xu Li’er is no fool. Seeing An Ran and Little Mint’s determination, she immediately realizes her previous judgment was wrong.
Everyone on this team is extraordinary, and Xu Li’er learns her lesson.
“Behave, and we won’t tie you up!” An Ran, one knee pressing on Xu Li’er’s back, releases her hands and glances over to see Zhao Ru struggling to drag a large cabinet toward the door. She looks at Xu Li’er again.
Xu Li’er, just getting up and rubbing her sore shoulders and arms, meets An Ran’s gaze, startled. Then she turns and runs upstairs.
Seeing that she isn’t running toward the front entrance, An Ran lets her go.
While Little Mint helps Zhao Ru drag the cabinet, An Ran pulls Doll’s rocking car into the mall and lets Doll play inside.
Turning back, An Ran sees a tiger-sized female mutant rat rushing out from behind the transparent glass door. Its belly is swollen, as if ready to give birth. It slams against the glass side door, cracking the thick glass.
The mutant female rat isn’t even scratched—it looks fine!
An Ran hurries to help Zhao Ru with the cabinet. Little Mint also steps forward. The three work together to hold the cabinet against the glass door that’s about to break.
“Hurry, get to the second floor!” An Ran shouts, then rushes to the rocking car, lifts it with both hands along with Doll inside, and hurries upstairs with Zhao Ru and Little Mint.
This is no time to fight the mutant female rat. It clearly tries to rush in and give birth, turning An Ran and the others into food for its offspring. Damn, it’s really scheming!
An Ran will never let this mutant female rat succeed.
As the two adults and two children reach the second floor, the mutant rat breaks through the glass door, opens its jaws, and gnaws a big hole in the wooden cabinet. Within a few bites, it gets inside the first floor.
