How to Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse - Chapter 245
Lei Jiang hurriedly activates his supernatural power, digs a large pit, buries all the zombies inside, and covers it with soil. Then he enters the park, cuts down his subordinates who have been hanging from the chains, and heads to the teahouse with them.
On the hill, the women in the teahouse are unharmed, but they have dressed properly and gathered together. When they see Lei Jiang return, they remain silent.
Several corpses lie on the ground — all of them Lei Jiang’s subordinates, already dead.
It isn’t until Lei Jiang questions his men and the women that he learns what happened.
Earlier that day, an incredibly powerful man had tried to enter the villa, claiming to be searching for someone. Lei Jiang’s subordinates, who had been guarding the trench, mocked him. They jeered that there were still women who hadn’t been violated yet, and told the man to stop wasting his time searching — he might as well join them since there were plenty of women in the villa, waiting to serve men.
The man had been enraged. He charged straight into the villa, cutting through their defenses like nothing. He stormed into the teahouse, checking each room and inspecting the women one by one.
The corpses on the floor are those of several men who had been inside the rooms, assaulting the women. These men had always indulged in twisted, depraved acts. Even Lei Jiang had found some of their behavior intolerable.
When Lei Jiang is around, those men restrain themselves somewhat. But when Lei Jiang is absent, they do whatever they please. After all, in their eyes, women exist solely for their entertainment. No one in the survivor team cares enough to stop them.
But this time, they encounter a serious man — one who seems particularly disgusted by such vile behavior. While those men are still laughing, the powerful stranger kills them with a spinning knife, cutting them down cleanly.
“Judging by his actions… he’s a decent man,” Lei Jiang mutters.
Sitting in a chair in the teahouse hall, Lei Jiang stares coldly at the corpses lined up at his feet. He idly twirls a leaf between his fingers before lifting his gaze to his subordinates — the ones he freed from the chains. He sneers.
“I don’t like what you did either. You got what you deserved.”
Though Lei Jiang himself has slept with women, he has never forced or abused them. As the leader of his survivor team, he doesn’t turn away women who climb into his bed willingly — those who seek protection or favor.
Some women, however, are proud and defiant. They refuse to submit, and Lei Jiang never forces them.
In truth, Lei Jiang never demands anything from those women. But the reason they become tools for the men’s pleasure is… complicated. Some are lured with food. Others are threatened until they give in. It’s hard to say how much of it is truly voluntary.
Still, Lei Jiang believes that the blame doesn’t lie entirely with the men.
Of course, not all of his subordinates follow his approach. When Lei Jiang is around, they keep themselves in check. But when he’s gone… well, it’s no surprise what happens to the women in the teahouse.
To put it bluntly, Lei Jiang believes those men deserve to die.
But in the end times, women are seen as powerless. While Lei Jiang refuses to force anyone, he also doesn’t stop others from doing so. In this world, it seems women are left with no other role.
