How to Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse - Chapter 220
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Because Anran makes a sound, the bronze-skinned and iron-boned zombie’s eyesight, which primarily relies on hearing, quickly shifts its attention toward her.
However, as it chases Anran, Little Mint isn’t having it. She runs up from behind and wraps her arms around the zombie’s waist, screaming desperately.
Anran has just pushed the stroller into the maternity store. Upon hearing Little Mint’s cry, she rushes back out and shouts anxiously, “Why are you stopping it? Let it chase me!!!”
She runs back, but before she can reach Little Mint, the zombie turns around, intending to attack her. However, Little Mint, being shorter and still holding onto the zombie’s waist, gets carried along when it turns. This leaves Heng Heng standing alone behind them.
The bronze-skinned and iron-boned zombie still has some vision. It immediately locks onto its new prey and moves toward Heng Heng.
Heng Heng is so frightened that he freezes. The bucket of crystal cores in his hand drops to the ground with a loud “clink,” scattering the shining crystals everywhere. Just as the zombie lunges toward Heng Heng, Yun Tao darts in and grabs Heng Heng, turning and running away with him in his arms.
The zombie immediately pursues, even though Little Mint is still clinging to its back. Its hunger for Heng Heng can’t be stopped.
Anran, chasing after the zombie, feels like a mantis chasing a cicada, while a yellow bird is behind. The group circles the second floor and reaches the door of the maternity store.
Then, something unexpected happens. Liu Yuan suddenly rushes out of the store, tackles the bronze-skinned and iron-boned zombie that is chasing Yun Tao and Heng Heng, and charges toward the glass guardrail.
With a “bang,” a scream follows.
Little Mint, still hanging onto the zombie’s back, is carried by Liu Yuan’s strength and crashes into the guardrail. Anran rushes forward and catches Little Mint’s body, and they all fall to the ground together.
The glass guardrail cracks under the impact, and Liu Yuan screams in pain. In the chaos, the zombie tilts its head and bites Liu Yuan’s shoulder, tearing off a piece of her flesh.
“Don’t hurt my son!” Liu Yuan screams, her voice filled with desperation. She holds onto the zombie’s head with both hands, preventing it from moving.
Little Mint, pinned beneath the zombie’s body, grabs its arm. Seeing this, Anran quickly climbs up and grabs the zombie’s legs. Together, the big and small work with all their might to pin the zombie to the ground.
Yun Tao, who isn’t far off, quickly puts Heng Heng down, runs back, and joins Liu Yuan in holding the zombie’s head. Yun Tao roars, and with Liu Yuan’s help, the two slowly pull the zombie’s head from its neck, ripping out a long spine.
The most powerful zombie they have encountered is torn apart by four humans—three adults and one small child.
Yun Tao throws the zombie’s head, along with the long spine, to the ground. It lands with a dull thud on the marble floor tiles, as though a large piece of copper has fallen.
Seeing that the particularly tough bronze-skinned and iron-boned zombie is dead, Anran breathes a sigh of relief. She lets go of the zombie’s feet, stands up, sits down on the ground, and wipes the sweat from her forehead.
