She was originally worried that the registration office would only allow one person at a time, and they wouldn’t be able to look out for each other. Unexpectedly, as soon as they reached the door, they were called in together by the teacher inside—because Xu Turan had given them a heads up, they were quite accepting of both the teacher’s appearance and the absurd procedures. They only hesitated when they picked up the pen to write their names.

The reason was simple. When they picked up the pen, they both had a moment of daze. And after this daze, one character of each of their names had already been written in the name field.

Zhu Tang’s “Zhu” and Lin Ge’s “Lin” were clearly hanging in the name field, while the rest was still blank.

“Names must have meaning. Can’t be casually chosen,” the teacher behind the desk said coldly, leaning back. “Continue filling in.”

Zhu Tang & Lin Ge: …

They exchanged a glance, each going over the naming points Xu Turan had given in their minds, pondered for a moment, then knowingly lowered their heads again and quickly started writing on the paper.

Ten minutes later.

Chen Dazhuang stood in the Aspiring Study Building, squinting at the student list in his hand, confusion once again appearing in his eyes.

At the end of the list, there were two unfamiliar records:

【Enrollment Time: August 17, XX Year Enrollment Location: Golden Tree Academy for Girls Thinking Study Building】

【Enrollee Name: Zhu Yan Qiaocui Meng Yi Sui Nan Ren Lei Shui Zai Wen Jun Hu Bu Gui Ha A Ha】

【Enrollment Time: August 17, XX Year Enrollment Location: Golden Tree Academy for Girls Thinking Study Building】

【Enrollee Name: Lin Lailai Ling Liu Nainai Qu Ling Niunai He Liu Nai】

Chen Dazhuang: …

In comparison, the name Qu Tony that Qu Mian had just racked his brains to come up with could be said to be quite fresh and not flamboyant.

…Too conservative.

Chen Dazhuang sighed inwardly, we who only know how to choose cringe names are still too conservative.

He then turned to look at the side:

“Yang Daniang(Auntie Yang), didn’t you say there was no one else behind?”

“…” Yang Buqi, who was going up the stairs, paused his steps.

“…This character is pronounced ‘lang’,” he corrected helplessly, pointing at his own name tag with one hand. “Yang Dalang. Thank you.”

“Oh, oh, oh, sorry, I misread just now,” Chen Dazhuang looked at the list again, suddenly realizing, “Dalang, Dalang. Sorry, sorry. So what’s the deal with those two new students’ names?”

…No, can you not just read the given name without the surname? It seems very inauspicious.

Yang Buqi sighed inwardly, and carefully looked at the list in Chen Dazhuang’s hand again. Their situation was the same as Zhu Tang and the others, the surname could not be changed and was naturally written down, so he only looked at the beginning of those two strings of names and roughly confirmed their identities.

“My fault,” he strung together the events before and after, and couldn’t help but slap his forehead. “They probably found their way here based on the clues I left.”

And for some reason, they went directly to the Thinking Study Building after entering the domain… Yang Buqi suddenly felt a throbbing pain in his skull: “When can we go to the Thinking Study Building?”

“Theoretically, only when we’re assigned to do duty, or when we go to some special classrooms for classes. There’s a duty tomorrow, I’ll talk to the hygiene representative and give you this opportunity,” Chen Dazhuang said. “Crossing bridges at will is not protected by school rules, it’s easy to get into trouble.”

From another perspective, rules are such things that the more people who follow them, the stronger the binding force. Deliberately ignoring rules or violating rules is equivalent to weakening the effectiveness of the rules, which is not a good thing for the current situation.

Yang Buqi was well aware of this, so he could only suppress the anxiety in his heart and continue to follow Chen Dazhuang’s actions.

After the explanation from the other two, Qu Mian had a rough understanding of the current situation. After careful consideration, he couldn’t help but ask: “By the way, what would happen if we hadn’t registered as students just now?”

“You would not be protected by the school rules, and then in the shortest time, you would be ‘disposed of’ by this school as waste,” Chen Dazhuang knew he was an ordinary person, so he tried to describe the situation as lightly as possible.

“However, this rarely happens. Because for Big Sophora, ‘students’ are the nutritious food. Although waste is easy to kill, it’s meaningless. Therefore, even for its own benefit, it will try its best to make all entrants become students.”

As he spoke, he led the two around the second-floor staircase corner and stepped onto the skybridge leading to another building:

“Let me take you to the dormitory first. There will definitely be a room inspection within an hour of new students’ enrollment. If you don’t handle it well, you’ll have a very difficult start.”

“Room inspection?” Qu Mian was surprised. “It’s already past midnight. This ghost place still does room inspections?”

“You’ve already said it’s a ghost place,” Chen Dazhuang said somewhat helplessly. “Look, passing through this skybridge will take you directly to the dormitory building. The first floor of the dormitory doesn’t house students, from the second floor on, each floor is connected to the Aspiring Study Building. There’s a door at each connection point, and the keys are managed by the rotating dormitory management committee members…”

As they spoke, they had already passed through the skybridge and entered the territory of the dormitory building. Chen Dazhuang stopped, took out a key from his body, turned around to pull the iron door they came from tight, and locked it.

Yang Buqi looked at the key in his hand and suddenly realized: “You’re also a member of the dormitory management committee?”

“Temporarily,” Chen Dazhuang looked left and right, lowering his voice. “Each floor of the dormitory can only have one dormitory management committee member. It changes every week, and you can actively compete for it. You can look at the school rules when you get back, there’s a booklet in the dormitory.”

“Also, let me remind you, the situation for ability users is difficult now, even having one more student cadre position is a good thing. This school has quite a few rotating positions, if you have the energy, you can try to compete for them—look, if I hadn’t happened to compete for a dormitory management committee position this week, I’d still be locked in the room sleeping now, how could I come down to meet you?”

Chen Dazhuang spoke these words sincerely, but Yang Buqi suddenly thought of another matter and immediately said: “By the way, how many ability users are there in this domain now?”

“In the Aspiring Study Building, including me, there are only 4 permanent residents,” Chen Dazhuang sighed. “Adding you and the one who came from Renxin Institute before, it’s barely 6.”

“What do you mean bare… wait, Renxin Institute?” Yang Buqi was startled.

He recalled the information he had checked before. About two days ago, Renxin Institute sent people to observe Big Sophora Secondary School, but they had not submitted a report for a long time. Considering that it was normal for an observation mission to take a few days, no one thought it was strange. Now thinking about it, that group of people should be like himself and the others… trapped here?
