Her Talent for Courting Death Has Always Been Impressive - Chapter 51 Part 1
Chapter 51: Back to School Season (3)
In the deep darkness of night, the undulating silhouettes of buildings easily brought to mind the image of crouching beasts.
Xu Turan walked along the path, advancing about a few dozen steps when suddenly a rhythmic beeping of crisis premonition sounded in her mind—the sound wasn’t urgent, just steadily calling out one beat at a time. She looked around, taking an exploratory step forward. Suddenly, lights came on in the grass that had been shrouded in darkness.
…It was just ordinary decorative lawn lighting. The light shone on the grass blades, tinting them with an eerie green hue. The green glow extended outward, stretching into a thin line of light that lay across Xu Turan’s path.
Xu Turan’s eyes darkened slightly, and without hesitation, she stepped into this strange green light.
Immediately, there was a “beep” sound, and the crisis premonition in her mind, like a deflated squeaky toy, let out a rending cry before completely subsiding. This was followed by the sound of Courting Death Value dropping.

Xu Turan: …
This place is worth staying. 200 points just for entering the main gate.
Xu Turan was delighted.
She walked a few more steps forward. Lights gradually came on in the buildings on both sides, illuminating her field of vision.
At this moment, she had already walked past the “Diligent Study Building” and arrived at a more central location. To her right were two large buildings standing close together, connected by a suspended corridor between them. One of them had “Aspiring Study Building” written on it, while the other building had no name.
To her left was a green area. In the middle of the green space was a wide path leading directly to the small stone arch bridge she had seen earlier.
As for the other side of the arch bridge and straight ahead of her, they were still shrouded in darkness. Only by the faint outlines could one discern that there were also buildings in these two directions.
Xu Turan stood still for a moment, then, with experience, first walked towards the arch bridge—where there’s a bridge, there must be water. And where there’s water, there’s often danger.
Sure enough, the moment she approached, the crisis premonition in her mind dutifully sounded again. However, it only rang perfunctorily once. Xu Turan ignored it and walked to the bridge head on her own, leaning over to look. She saw something brightly colored floating up in the dark river water.
At first glance, it looked like koi fish. However, Xu Turan quickly realized that it was actually clothing—red clothing, floating on the water. The fabric was fully inflated, with a roughly circular shape at the front of the garment, looking like a head buried in the water.
As if sensing Xu Turan’s gaze, the head slowly rose, revealing a swollen, pale face. The distorted lips curled into a creepy smile directed at Xu Turan.
“Are you here to keep me company too?” he said, reaching out his hand towards Xu Turan.
Xu Turan: …
She paused for a moment, took off her backpack, and pulled out a ball of silver-colored paper. When the silver paper was unwrapped, it revealed a small medicine bottle.
It was one of the supernatural items she had purchased earlier, the vitamin bottle that always had an infinite supply of parasitic pills.
The number of monsters increased to two, and the passive skill “Confusion” took effect. The smile froze on the face of the person in the water, and their expression became bewildered.
“Excuse me, could you tell me where to go for registration?” Xu Turan asked politely.
The person in the water blinked their eyes that couldn’t fully close, slowly raised their hand, and pointed to the other side of the bridge.
“Thank you,” Xu Turan said sincerely, casually unscrewing the medicine bottle, grabbing a handful of pills, and throwing them into the water. She then took out the Ghost Camera from her backpack, quickly took a few photos, and threw the photos into the water as well.
Although I’m not here to keep you company, I do have companions who can keep you company.
The colors of the photos taken by the Ghost Camera started to fade again. Xu Turan was reluctant to use it too much, so she quickly put the camera away and walked briskly across the stone arch bridge, arriving at the other side.
It was strange. When standing on the bridge looking at this side, she could only see a few buildings and empty space. But after crossing the bridge, what greeted Xu Turan’s eyes was a grove of trees. The trees were sparse, allowing moonlight to penetrate and provide some visibility. She walked a few steps inward, hearing a muffled scream from ahead.
Xu Turan’s heart stirred, and she quickly followed the sound. She saw a girl sitting on the ground, covering her mouth, with a lit flashlight rolling nearby, illuminating an area.
The girl had long hair and was wearing a white shirt and plaid skirt, with a name tag hanging on her chest and a golden school emblem on her chest, looking like a student.
She was staring ahead in terror, as if she had seen something extremely frightening. Xu Turan looked her up and down, tentatively taking a step forward: “Hey, are you alright—”
Before she could finish speaking, the girl looked at her in bewilderment, scrambled to her feet, grabbed the flashlight from the ground, and ran forward without looking back.
Xu Turan: “…”
What’s wrong with that one? Is she human? Or an illusion? So coward, probably not a monster, right?
Xu Turan thought uncertainly as she walked to where the girl had just fallen. She saw a shoulder bag lying there. Xu Turan picked it up and rummaged through it, finding a lighter, a used notebook, and a glass bottle filled with water. There seemed to be something solid soaking in the bottle, looking small.
Xu Turan briefly flipped through the notebook. Due to the poor lighting, she couldn’t make out the detailed content, only roughly discerning that it was all math problems. The name on the cover, however, was very clear.
—【Fang Xing】.
Xu Turan vaguely realized something and looked in the direction the girl had left. Her gaze inadvertently lifted upwards, catching sight of the corner of a large building outside the grove.
She saw that the building outline, which had looked square just moments ago, was now clearly wrapped in something. The thing looked enormous and soft, like a lump of clay covering most of the building, its surface undulating constantly as if breathing.
It was a giant monster. It was clinging to the outer wall of that building.
And the direction the girl had left in was towards this building.
Xu Turan pursed her lips and walked towards the building without hesitation.
