Xu Turan pretended not to see, walking back a few steps with an unchanged expression. The Planchette Pen had long since shrunk back into her pocket, only poking her when she had walked back far enough.

Xu Turan understood and reached out to twist the right doorknob. Before her fingers could touch it, she was poked again.

Now we’re going in reverse! Open the left one, the left!

The Planchette Pen appeared calm on the surface, but its inner collapse was as if it had a screaming chicken installed.

Xu Turan was stunned for a moment before finally reacting, turning to open the left door instead. Several ethereal figures were moving inside the room, not even looking at Xu Turan as she crossed the room, but unable to ignore the dense black silk quietly spreading into the room behind her—

The sound of flowing water and people struggling came from behind. Even knowing these “people” were just phantoms in the space-time fragments, Xu Turan’s heart still tightened slightly.

Following the Planchette Pen’s prompts, she passed through another door, looked at No. 71 stopping a few steps behind her, and took a deep breath.

“Is it straight ahead from here?” she confirmed with the Planchette Pen.

The fountain pen swayed once, counting as a response. Xu Turan nodded, took a step back, and suddenly loosened her fingers. The lighter in her hand immediately went out.

The next second, as the prompt for increased Courting Death Value sounded again, she turned and ran without hesitation, only hearing the water flow behind her suddenly become surging and urgent, like an awakened beast, opening its mouth wide and following closely!

“Continue navigation!” she threw the fountain pen out, shouting without raising her head. The pen floated in the air, wanting to make a few more jabs, but seeing the Pyre level No. 71 surging forward, it immediately shut up and floated towards Xu Turan’s direction without thinking.

…I should have at least bargained first.

It belatedly thought.

This kind of thing should be a different price!

On the other side.

In the game room.

Yang Buqi was pacing back and forth, occasionally raising his hand to look at his wristwatch, his expression very solemn.

He had been waiting here for a while now—not long ago, he had received messages from Xu Turan and Pu Han through the rules paper, asking him to go upstairs to get some props and then wait here.

【Xiao Xu is going to make some preparations and will be here soon. Wait here and don’t move.】

That’s what was written in Pu Han’s message.

Although he vaguely felt that this message seemed to be taking advantage of him, given the urgency of the situation, he didn’t mind and just followed the instructions.

But it had been so long now… even the space-time phantoms appearing and disappearing in the game room had changed several rounds, yet there was still no movement.

Yang Buqi nervously pursed his lips, once again reaching out to try to touch the phantom closest to him. Just as his fingers passed through the phantom’s body, his expression froze.

Something seemed different.

This difference was not related to the phantom he was trying to touch, but came from the void, from the depths his naked eye could not see—Yang Buqi closed his eyes, trying hard to adjust his perception, when suddenly the noise of water entered his ears.

Along with it came hurried footsteps and a familiar voice.

“Yang, Yang Buqi—”

He heard Xu Turan’s call and turned his head towards the sound, only to see that the corner of the game room, which had been empty just moments ago, had suddenly turned into a long wooden corridor. A figure was rushing along the corridor, waving at him as she ran.

“Come over, come closer! Quick, quick, quick!”

Xu Turan urged, and strangely, corresponding text appeared above her head—red and flashing.

…Is this some newly developed function?

Yang Buqi was dumbfounded, but with no time to think, he moved closer.

The next second, his hand was grabbed by Xu Turan and pulled forcefully inward. His whole body swayed forward, completely entering that wooden corridor.

This was the first time the landlubber Yang Buqi had entered this space, and he was slightly stunned: “Where is this… What is that?”

He looked at a translucent barrier in front of him, frowning in confusion.

It was more like an ice layer than a barrier. This layer of ice seemed very thin, and through it, he could see large clumps of black—he instinctively felt that those were definitely some very dangerous things.

“No time to explain, I can’t freeze it for too long. Where are the things I asked you to bring… No, no, not this one, not the sealing box!”

She rummaged through Yang Buqi’s hands, finally pulling out a small flashlight. She had just grabbed it when she heard the ice layer behind her making cracking sounds—

The next moment, the ice layer shattered, and large clumps of black silk wrapped in viscous liquid pressed down on her like collapsing rocks!

Yang Buqi’s face changed, and he instinctively tried to pull Xu Turan behind him. But she stepped forward instead, turning on the flashlight in her hand and shining it directly at the oncoming mass.

In an instant, roaring flames burst forth, blocking between them and the black silk!

The black silk paused in its movement, then hesitated for a moment before retreating like the tide.

“…Finally dealt with it.” Xu Turan sighed in relief, carefully placing the flashlight on the ground.

This was one of the supernatural items she had purchased this time, capable of creating the illusion of a fire and even burning people. Because just carrying this thing was uncomfortable, Xu Turan had first stored it in her room.

After she discovered that the young No. 71 disliked flames, she had been thinking about going upstairs to bring this down. However, before she could act, she encountered Pu Han being taken for sacrifice… Now it seemed her guess wasn’t wrong.

Although the flames created by this flashlight were an illusion, they could still create an illusion for the young No. 71.

The crisis premonition that had been ringing endlessly in her mind finally quieted down. Xu Turan clapped her hands and turned her head, about to discuss the sealing box matter with Yang Buqi, when she met his serious yet somewhat confused gaze.

“Can you explain?” he took a deep breath, his hand pressing on his chest. “What’s going on now?”

Xu Turan: …

She just remembered that they hadn’t explained the plan to Yang Buqi in detail, and hurriedly said: “It’s like this. I have good news…”

Yang Buqi: “I want to hear the bad news first.”

Xu Turan: “…We now have a Pyre level abomination…”

The two sentences collided. The air fell into a moment of silence.

“…Mm, I see.” Yang Buqi paused, trying hard to nod. “The bad news is we have a Pyre level abomination. Then what’s the good news?”

Xu Turan: …

Ah, what I just said was actually the good news.

She thought for a moment, then changed to a very light tone.

“The good news is, we now have an additional Pyre level abomination!”

Yang Buqi: …

?

“…And if you want, we can get even more,” Xu Turan tried to add the latter half of the sentence. “How about it, does it… sound a bit better this way?”

Yang Buqi: ……

It doesn’t, thank you!

And I don’t want to! Not at all!
